Hi everyone, well this is my first attempt at starting a discussion so hope I’m doing this right... :D . A couple of weeks ago, I asked Gail when she thought would be a proper time to start thinking of what we fans want to do for our Michael’s 60th birthday. She said she was out of ideas, but suggested I’d start a thread asking fans for suggestions. I figure we have exactly 4 months, starting today, to come up with something fun and get mobilised to achieve it. I’m no organizer, I just thought we could share ideas so let’s put our heads together and see what we can come up with! :D Take care and hugs to all, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada J
*The 2 most popular suggestions so far are:
- individual donations to michaelboltoncharities.com, mentionning they are made in honor of Michael’s birthday, of any amount you feel comfortable with.
-a collective wall-hanging made from personalized fabric squares sent by fans that will be stitched together. The 4 inch/10 cm squares (with small blank margin) only need have your signature and location but can be crafty as you are able. For
more info, ask here, or PM either me, or Amie Angeli who will be doing the stitching and presenting the finished product to our Michael.
**Note: The final deadline for recieving fabric squares is February 15th, so you don't have much time left. :D
**It would also mean a lot to Michael if fans donate to the Red Cross for victims of hurricane Sandy at:
then E-mail Gail at boltoninfo@aol.com with your name and location, so she can add them to the MBC donors list.
**If you feel strongly about sending Michael a card or personal gift, you may send it to:
Michael Bolton
c/o Michael Bolton Charities
P.O. Box 936
Branford, CT 06405
U.S.A.
*Note that the deadline for recieving cards and presents is February 20th 2013, whether you send them to either Gail or Michael Bolton Charities.

Hi Missy, if you're refering to the wall-hanging we all contributed to, Amie has arranged it through Gail and is delivering it this afternoon to Michael's house, most likely to one of Michael's daughters. She'll tell us all about it after the deed is done. Hopefully, tomorrow at the latest, we'll have at least pictures of the finished product. Take care Missy and have a great day! Hugs, sincerely, sylvie Qc Canada
Yes, everybody, the wallhanging (along with a couple "odd bits" people sent along with their fabric squares) and card were delivered this afternoon, about 4:10-4:15 pm. Greeted by one very b-i-g and very bouncy puppy who gave me lots & lots of puppy kisses! So Taryn has all the loot for her Dad. Got some pics, too.
Finished my housesitting gig this afternoon, so I'm on a library computer till I get mine set back up. Soon as I find the library's "compu-geek" - I can't find the slot to stick in my SD card & upload the pics! Know they've got one, so I hope to post pics in a little bit. But I wanted everybody to know, it has been delivered to his house.
Thanks to all who contributed a square (or rectangle or whatever!). I hope everybody likes the way it turned out. My friends call it a work of art & are happy their dining table helped make it all happen! Of course, it's bigger than the dining table, which seats 10. LOL!
Off to find compu-geek. . .
Cheers, Amie
Thanks Amie..Looking forward to seeing the pictures....
Robin in MD:)
Hey Amie, thanks for letting us know the mission is accomplished! A lot of love went into that so obviously it had to turn out spectacular, I just can't wait to hear a description Amie. I hope you thanked your friends for the use of their space on our behalf... :D Take care sweetie and break a leg with your pics. Big hugs, sincerely, Sylvie Qc Canada :D
Yes, I certainly did thank them! These people are former "cross-pond" neighbors of MBs (as opposed to backyard neighbors, I guess - LOL!). I rang them tonight to say thanks again & report being the recipient of an abundance of puppy kisses. Nice puppy. I think they were kinda disappointed I didn't get to meet Michael, but it is what it is. His schedule is crazy.
But mainly my friends are happy their house was well cared for through blizzard & assorted crazy winter storms while they basked in the sun (lucky ducks!).
The library's "compu-geek" for the evening shift called in sick - boo-hoo. And these towers don't have the SD slot to just slide in the chip from my camera. So we try again in the a.m. with the day-shift non-sick compu-geek! And thought I was reasonably "computer-literate." Hah! Sometimes I just plain get stumped. But for all the folderole with 'puters, I'd rather live with them than without them!
Cheers, Amie
I got an email from Taryn and the gift has been received and is in good hands! I can't wait to see the pics either Amie!
