East Side Cannery Las Vegas June 1, 2013

I have been fortunate to see Michael Bolton many times, and even sat in the front row for two concerts. June 1st in Vegas was

one of those times. For the longest time all I have wanted to do was to meet him face to face, or even have him just touch my hand

while singing. That night both my dreams came true. While he was finishing up singing When a Man Loves a Woman, he did touch

hand and of course I did the expected thing--- I screamed. I did

not plan to wash that hand for the longest time. Since I have not yet

figured out how to get a "meet and greet", I did the next best thing and look for people just hanging out after the performance. No l

luck, could not get to meet him.

Since I still did not want to give up, I decided to just hang around the casino for a bit and maybe, just maybe he would appear.

After waiting for about an hour, he and his band were entering a bar/lounge area. That is when my dream came true.

For years I just wanted a chance to thank him personally for inspiring me. He took the time to listen to my story. Several years

ago I was lucky enough to lose over 40 pounds. With a lot of hard work and exercise I was able to accomplish that. I wanted to

let him know that his music inspired me to continue to walk farther than before, thus contributing to my success. I just wanted the

chance to let him know that he does inspire us in many different ways.

He was so gracious, kind, and intent on hearing me out. He shook my hand and made my dream come true. His beautiful, talented trumpet player also had kind words for me. The concert was great and I do believe he sounds even better than ever.

Thank you Michael Bolton for making my dream come true in many different ways. See you next year!

Hi Erika and WELCOME to the forum and thanks very much indeed for your review of the concert at Vegas and so, so pleased for you that you got to meet Michael eventually.....he is definitely one of the gentleman of this world and you have confirmed it again by sharing with us your terrific story that you also got to share with him !! :) So glad too that you got opportunity to talk with Cameron for she is lovely as are all MB's band members and all, always have been, throughout the years. Must add I have never met any but am on FB and Twitter with a few and they are all terrific !!! :)

Have given below a link into a thread in our "Tours, Gigs and Announcements" section where we come together and share experiences of concerts and we have a few reviews there from the Vegas concert so you may want to go in and read those apart from maybe considering copying your review and placing it in the thread......one of our motto's is "the more the merrier" so hope you will place your review in the Tour thread and then they are altogether for people to see and read and hope too that you will look through forum and enjoy everything that is in it.

Hi Erika and welcome to the forum. Thank you so much for sharing your special moment with Michael with us. I’m so glad for you that you didn’t give up! So, may I ask when was the last time you saw him and did he sing your favourite? Just curious. :D Girl,congrats on the weight loss, but that’s not luck my dear, that’s achievement! You were very fortunate to catch Michael at a good moment though and it sounds like it was a perfect dream come true, so good for you sweetie... :D I hope you stick around and have time to check the forum out. Thanks for sharing Erika. What a great accomplishment for you!!! Congrats girl!!
That is no easy feat.
So happy to hear your Michael story. I totally understand how you feel. I would love to have the opportunity to meet Michael face to face as you did. I've been trying for 20 years with no success, but I'll never give up hope. Actually, I would have liked to have hung out in the casino for a while to see if I could catch a glimpse of Michael, but was with my daughter who is 8 months pregnant and needed to get her home. So maybe better luck next time. :)

Yeah keep that dream alive Paula for there is always going to be a next time and who knows what might happen......as Michael says himself; keep dreaming and believing !!! :)

Hope too everything is and continues to go well with your daughter.....can't be long now and we have little grandbabies coming from everywhere just now on here and hope for everyone waiting that all does go well and for those that have arrived, like Dianna's in Australia, that they are thriving well !! :)

Hi Erika and welcome :))) What a GREAT Bolton Adventure you had in Vegas!! Yippee!! I was also at that concert but I wasn't able to "hang around" this time, but when you can it is often times worth the wait. So HAPPY for you!! Hopefully you can enjoy more of this wonderful forum and get your Michael "fix" here whenever you have time to join us!! Thanks again for your great concert review!

Wow!! You are very lucky to have had the opportunity to meet him and tell him that.

I often think, if I ever got the chance to tell him anything at all, it would be to thank him for pulling me out of a terrible dark place in my life when I honestly thought that there was no hope at all. I always think that it will never happen....meeting him will seriously never happen. Perhaps I shouldn't give up hope.

Congratulations on losing the 40 pounds too. It can be very hard and daunting to lose weight, I am on a journey too. By the sounds of it, you have done very well. Good on you!!
