Hi Debi and welcome to the forum! It sounds like you’ve been a fan for a few years. :D I agree that empty seats are a crying shame, especially in the first row! This is when you’re supposed to grab the opportunity and go sit there yourself! :D Unfortunately sweetie, you know that it was in the best interest of the fans that Michael disassociated from the fan clubs years ago because we weren’t getting our money’s worth… Debi, since you’re new here and may not know your way around yet, I’d like to direct you to our tour review thread:

Well that is a waste....empty seats in the front row?!?! Very surprised.... Where those seats to be reserved for "Charity Bids", and maybe no one tried to win those seats? That is the only reason I can see for empty seats in the front row. As far as the other seats, maybe those people did not show up for various reasons.....

Yes at times there are empty seats for many reasons, auction winners don't make it, corporate people buy them and no one comes or they are released very last minute and no one gets them.. it happens..but it's happened at times I've been able to move to front row after the show starts if no one comes and that's always a nice surprise..No one can control what people do unfortunately as to whether they attend a show or not.

I was at the Grand Prairie show also. I think the reason for the empty seats is purely politics of the venue and greed. Before the tickets went on sale, I called the box office and their corporate sales department. It seems that the best seats in the house are really never offered to the public but are reserved for those who want to buy seats to all the shows held there. You pay a minimum of $1,000 per seat per season to join their "Platinum Club" and for the rights to purchase those seats. I bought my seats the very second they became available on Ticketmaster, the competition was fierce, and the best I could get was just in front of the sound board in the middle of the arena. My wife and I have been fans of Michael for over 20 years, and been to every show he has ever done in Dallas, even a few private shows. Such a shame that the REAL fans can't get the good seats because of politics and greed by the promoters. You could not get to the front of the stage towards the end because security was blocking the front section, much less try to take an empty seat there. It was a GREAT show though, we've never heard his voice sound better.

Steve I've been to probably 100 MB shows over the last 17 years and every venue is different that way, with memberships, etc...Sometimes those seats are turned in if not used and they get released last minute.. It's frustrating to say the least..That type of thing is why I miss the old days of the fan club seating. And Tmaster does not always release best seats first, better ones come up closer to a show day sometimes too or even day of.. promotor seats get released last-minute too..every one is different..Sorry this was a tough one to get close up seats for. I understand your frustration.

Wow, Robin, 100 shows in 17 years is impressive. I'll bet you have some good stories to tell. I know I have some great memories. Our most memorable concert was 10 years ago. We were fortunate enough to attend a concert with Michael & the Fort Worth Symphony. It was September 11th. When the tragedy unfolded that morning, we were sure that they would cancel the concert, but Michael and the symphony musicians decided that the show must go on. When we drove to the show, the freeways were empty, no traffic at all. He gave a speech before the concert started saying that we can't let the terrorists win and change our way of life, so he did the concert. It was the Aria tour. He sang three arias live that night with the symphony along with his normal show. I remember that the crowd in the venue was mostly symphony patrons who didn't know much about him. When they heard him sing the arias, it was so cool to see the stunned look on their faces. There was not a dry eye in the house. While we were sad about the tragedy, it was such an emotional night and he was literally healing hearts that night.
