Dear Michael: I am most happy that you are back on your feet again - just cancelled my alternative date for Friday night! - because 'Ain't nothing like the real thing' means to me attending my first show of yours since getting boltonized in 1987.

There aren't any setlists from your previous shows issued but I hope you will shower the Essen audience with lots of Motown music.

I am truly looking forward to finally experience you performing live ... B

P.S. M&G's on your Essen schedule?

Barbara, I hope you have a wonderful time in Essen and your first Michael concert!  Please come back and let us know what you thought here:

.  I'm afraid Michael isn't doing any individual meet and greets for a bit but have a blast at the show.  Gail

Gail, I am very excited and looking forward to a marvelous show!

Read about people with VIP packages in the UK, but did not see these offered for the German shows :o(

Wishing you a wonderful show for tomorrow Barbara and hope it is all you dreamed it could ever be....enjoy !!! :)

Sylvia.  Your wee Scottish friend.

Sylvia, your well wishes for the Essen show were magic:  I was able to buy a ticket in row 8 at the ticket counter and sold my balcony ticket right after.  Located in my aisle seat Michael passed me twice when singing WAMLAW and I was especially pleased that he performed Ain't nothing like the real thing.

I read that you will attend several UK shows, wishing you that all of these will all you dreamed they could ever be and look forward to hearing about your VIP package experiences. Have fun, sing along & enjoy ... B

Hallo Barbara,  I’m so glad to hear everything worked out for the best for you! I’m happy for you that you had a special moment with seeing Michael so close and that he sang one of your favourites. :D BTW, I think you mean Michael sang “Ain’t no mountain high enough”, because that’s what my friend Astrid wrote in her Essen review on page 164 of this thread:

http://www.michaelbolton.com/forum/topics/welcome-everyone-to-the-2...

That’s the thread where fans share their reviews, articles, pictures and links to videos relating to concerts, if you’d like to check it out and add your own review. :D Sylvia is getting on the road today for her very first concert tomorrow and will attend 6 in total, so the thread should get pretty exciting in the next week or so. Take care Barbara and welcome to the forum! Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie QC Canada :D

Thanks for your welcome Sylvie, I was truly happy to manage to get a seat that close to the stage while on location, I certainly would have missed some special moments on the balcony.

As I did not miss a beat, I was especially pleased when Michael sang 'Ain't nothing like the real thing' because this is my favorite song from the last album, he also performed 'Ain't no mountain high enough', B

Please also check out my review I have already issued Saturday on page 159 @

Thanks Barbara for letting me know where your review was. I have to say that we've been  very spoiled with long detailed reviews from fans, but yours was compact and said all you had to say. I can't imagine what it felt like to finally experience a concert after having  been a fan for 27 years... I'm glad for you it was all you wanted it to be sweetie, take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie QC Canada :D

Hi,

Me and my husband also were in Essen. It was great!!! I was so happy that his voice had recovered. He sounded great!!! 4 years ago we went to his show in Antwerp, Belgium. And now we travelled to Germany especially for his concert. We had a great time. The audience was enthousiast too.

I hope we don't have to wait to lang to see and hear him again.

Many greetings,

Karolien en Steven

Hallo Karolien, good to hear you had a nice time at the concert too! I had a few friends attending Germany concerts, so I’m glad for you all that Michael recovered so quickly. Michael had to postpone a concert I was supposed to be attending in February, he recovered a couple of days later for the Niagara concerts, but I’m still waiting for a rescheduled date. It’s been 5 years since he was here in Montreal, so I know how you feel about concerts that are few and far between. If you’d like to read more about other concerts or add your own comments about the Essen show, click here:

and around page 160-164, there are reviews, pictures etc from all German concerts this year. Take care Karolien. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie QC Canada :D
