Well, it's me again.  I was on here once before with the help of a good friend who guided me through the process, and I'm back again because she is guiding me through the process once more (if you haven't guessed yet, I am technology challenged).  Before I had posted when I was lucky enough to see Tre Balfour in Atlantic City last June.  Well, I have been very blessed again because recently I got to spend some time with Janis in California.  I know there are some newer fans that might not know her, but to the long time fans, to know her was to adore her.  She is one of those very special people who really are as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.  She has had a difficult time of it recently as she had to have back surgery over the holidays to have a very large herniated disc removed.  She was in terrible pain for quite a while.  But, she is doing much better now and is going to physical therapy.  She still has a little way to go but hopefully by the time the warm weather is here to stay she will be 100%.  My hubby and I met her in LA for a long lunch.  For all that she has been through since Christmas, she is looking fantastic.  So many good times and so many wonderful memories to talk about.  She always went out of her way to be nice to the fans.  Before I made this post I asked her if it would be ok to do so.  Below I am quoting what she said in her reply.

"Please tell the fans that I think about them often, and really, really appreciate the fact that they remember me and the rest of the band.  They will always hold a special place in my heart."

So, to those of us who have had the privilege of knowing her, this was her message to us.  For those of you who came onboard as fans after she left, if you had known her, you would have loved her too.  And once again thanks to my friend for guiding me through this process so I could post this.

I agree, Janis is a wonderful person!  I got to meet her a few times over the years and was always so nice.  I truly miss her and the "old" band members, but of course, getting used to the new!  Glad you got to meet up with her recently.

Oh June thank you soooo much for letting us know how Janis is doing!!! She was certainly a sweetheart. It BROKE my heart when I found out she had "retired" from the Bolton Band. She was our last original member and oh how sad that day was!! It has been a challenge to not hang on for dear life to the old times but they hold fabulous memories :) It was nice meeting you also at  Universal City Walk!! Hope to "run" into you again some time. Thanks for sharing!!!

Thank you so much june for  bringing us news on Janis. I particualrly appreciate this seeign as you say you are not confident on the pc.

As Sharon says, some of us are Facebook friends with Janis and have been following her healing process. I can thoroughly sympathise with the pain that she must have been in pre-op.

Dont be a sttranger June. post often.

Hi June, thank you so much for sharing your meeting with Janis with us! I really hope you’ll start getting more comfortable posting here, because as Kathy R said, I just know you and Robin, along with the other Kathy would have tons of fun stories to share with us all… You nailed it right on the head when you said “to know her is to adore her” about Janis. I’ve never heard anyone even give a hint of saying anything even remotely negative about her. I know she’d had disc problems since about ’03 and I’m glad she finally got it taken care of. She’s glad we remember her? My goodness, she’s unforgettable and  I know she’ll always have a special place in all our hearts. June, my guess is that you might not be on Facebook, if you’re technologically challenged? In any case, I hope someone could take the initiative and wish her a promt recovery from all of us. Thanks again so much for sharing June, take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi June,

Awesome you got to meet up with janice during your stay in L. A.

Wow! Ouch! about her back surgery&I'm glad she was able to have it done though it's a long road of recovery&physical therapy.

I've had the opportunity to meet her numerous times throughout the years, especially at the MBC galas. She is a lovely person. She doesn't forget you. She speaks to you always when meeting up with her&she compliments you wen it's due. God bless her.
