The First Annual Michael Bolton and Dave Mason

Benefit Concert & Celebrity Golf Classic

Sunday, September 26th, 2010

Ojai Valley Inn & Spa

Ojai, California

Event Information & Sponsorship Opportunities

The 1st Annual Michael Bolton and Dave Mason Benefit Concert and Celebrity Golf Classic will take place on Sunday, September 26th at the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa, an historic resort featuring luxury accommodations, a championship golf course and Spa Ojai.

We will tee off at 9:00 a.m. at the world-class Ojai Country Club, one of the first great golf courses in California. Later that evening Michael and Dave will perform with their great bands and surprise musical guests. The evening will include a cocktail/dinner reception, silent and live auctions.

Your support will make it possible for The Michael Bolton Charities, established in 1993 to assist children and women at risk, to continue our funding to numerous agencies.

A portion of the proceeds from our event will benefit two local organizations:

Yoga Blue, Inc., a non-profit organization established in 2009 in Ojai by Winifred Wilson, whose mission is dedicated to teaching yoga to people in recovery from substance abuse, other self-destructive behaviors and domestic violence.

The Bogart Pediatric Cancer Research Program at Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles. The hospital has been treating the most seriously ill and injured in Los Angeles for more than a century and is known throughout the United States and around the world for its leadership in pediatric and adolescent health.

Lee, no problem...you aren't the only one to misunderstand and that's why I posted. The concert is part of the charity event.  There are individual tickets which most of us are getting but the majority of the seating are part of packages the people playing in the Traveler's Championship paid for in their golf packages.  The front seating in the pit is also available for sale but they are the $250 tickets which include a VIP reception before the show.

Thanks Gail.....geez...that sounds like a great deal!!! The Saratoga tickets are minimum $200 I believe and no vip reception!! Sounds like a wonderful deal and I wish everyone attending a great time. Will be with you all in spirit!!! Hope you hear some GEMS!!!!!

HARTFORD, Conn., June 3, 2011- The Travelers Championship will host celebrities and sports personalities at TPC River Highlands on Wednesday, June 22 for the Travelers Celebrity Pro-Am, just one day prior to the start of tournament play featuring some of the world’s best golfers. The Travelers Celebrity Pro-Am will feature Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Michael Bolton, Academy Award-winning actor Joe Pesci, actor Luke Wilson, six-time National Sportscaster of the Year Chris Berman, reality TV and wrestling star Mike “The Miz” Mizanin and Hall of Fame College Basketball coach Jim Calhoun.

Additional fan favorites include Baseball Tonight host Karl Ravech, University of Connecticut Associate Head Basketball Coaches Chris Dailey and George Blaney and alum Kevin Ollie who played 13 seasons in the National Basketball Association.

“We greatly appreciate these individuals donating their time to be part of the tournament, to assist us in delivering a world-class sporting event to the fans all while raising funds and awareness for our tournament charities,” said Tournament Director Nathan Grube. “The Travelers Celebrity Pro-Am has been a staple for our tournament over the years and we are thrilled to welcome these great celebrities who will entertain our fans with exciting golf and evening entertainment.”

Along with the action on the course Wednesday, the tournament will once again welcome WFAN Sports Talk Radio host Mike Francesa for a live broadcast of his show, Mike’d Up: Francesa on the FAN. The show will broadcast from 1:00 – 6:00 p.m. on the clubhouse patio. Following the radio broadcast, the excitement will continue in the Subway Fan Zone with a performance by Eddie Money during the first night of the REACH Concert Series.

Additional celebrity announcements will be made in the next few days. Tee times for the Travelers Celebrity Pro-Am will be between 6:50 a.m. – 8:50 a.m. and 11:50 a.m. – 1:50 p.m. The majority of celebrity guests will tee off mid-day, and exact tee times for each player will be announced on Monday, June 20. The day will culminate with the Reach Concert Series featuring Eddie Money, which will begin promptly at the end of play.

Michael Bolton, singer, songwriter and social activist, has sold more than 53 million records worldwide, won countless industry distinctions including two Grammys® for Best Male Vocalist and six American Music Awards. Bolton earned a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, has sung with legends like Luciano Pavarotti and Ray Charles, played guitar with B.B. King and had his music recorded on a track by hip-hop superstar Kanye West (featuring megastar Jay-Z). A prolific songwriter, he has penned songs with greats such as Bob Dylan and Lady Gaga, as well as hits for a diverse range of artists. Of all that the Connecticut native has accomplished, perhaps nothing is more important to Bolton than his philanthropic endeavors, especially The Michael Bolton Charities, Inc, which he founded nearly 20 years ago to aid children and women at risk of abuse, poverty and domestic violence. Since its inception, The MBC has dispersed over $6 million in grants...

Thanks Gail..boy it would be nice if Michael t's off on the 2nd one!!  Makes it a little easier after the concert the night before, but if it is 650, I will still be there! LOL!  Looking forward to going to this event!

Kathy and LAFD Bob

He'll drink Red Bull and won't go to bed and it is pity Kenny G isn't going to be there - he would have helped Michael get through the night and made sure he was out on the tee at the right time !! LOL.

Sylvia.   Your wee Scottish friend.

LOL He will be there the right time, this is a PGA tour event, they don't mess around, every group starts like clockwork to keep the  tournament going.. Everyone is on PGA time at these types of professional golf tournaments, including us!! LOL

Robin in MD :)

Yeah as you say Robin it is so regimented - better than a military exercise the way they are conducted and getting near count down time for it too  - only about three weeks now to go - WOW - can feel the excitement building form here !!!!! LOL.

Sylvia.   Your wee Scottish friend.

Love that they say about  Michaels charity.I know that is what the event is about but we all know that this issue doesn't normally get much press so I'm glad it's getting the word out .Thanks Gail xx

Juliet Cant wait!! SOOOOOOOOOO excited! But Sharon I had so hoped all of you would have been coming!  We will have to do shopping maybe in the fall!  Thanks Gail for keeping us informed. Haven't been on much so much craziness going on and my Aunt passes away at the beginning of the week. Very sad we were very close.

Love you all! Eileen
