Following a request and suggestion from a very dear friend of all of ours on this forum, Sylvie from Canada, I’ve agreed to set up this thread on behalf of both of us and hope that you’ll join in the fun .
Sylvie's idea came from the age old New Year resolution pledges that we’ve all made and have often all broken, throughout the years, and hoped that by trying a "new sauce" on that "old turkey" it could feel easier for us all and give us a chance to be able to "pat ourselves on the back" and proudly say we achieved our goal of following to the end our... "New Month"... resolution instead........ what do you think?
We both agreed that the month of January would be a "freeby" so we can share suggestions if any of our usual active forum members are interested in this project which, we both hope, will turn into something worthwhile and a lot of fun too. So guys, if you’d like to take part, please feel free to share your ideas of what you think would be useful and fun resolutions for all of us to follow each month.
Obviously this January is, apart from a "freeby" month, a trial month too so that Sylvie and I can see your interest in this and figure out what the majority think so that we can start February with a very firm idea of what our 1st Resolution will be. Each one, thereafter, will be clearly displayed before the month begins and will be advertised with an MB calendar as is shown below for our "freeby" month of January. We hope that each month we can all share stories, tips and cheer each other on.
If you’re interested please join in and give us your thoughts and let’s make this great forum even more of a fun place to visit where we can all come together as friends, thanks to our love and admiration for our Michael.
Sylvie from Canada and Sylvia, your wee Scottish friend.
Well well well....Wee One you have been busy creating miracles!!! LOL Why..... you have already granted your first resolution and that was to get Michael to post his!!!!! Dang...you are good!!! I just finished reading all the posts here and then a tv commercial comes on and says..."Wait to you hear what Sylvia has to say!!!" I kid you not!!! I was floored and am still laughing!!! It is 1am here and I guess this is a new Montel Williams Show and Sylvia Browne (a psychic) is his first guest and a personal friend. I will venture to say that you...Wee One...are practicing your own psychic abilities with Michael posting his own resolution!!!!! This is too funny :))))))) And no this is not a joke contribution from me!! I have no doubt that Michael just might pop in here some time in 2012!! One day out of 365 days is very workable!! That will be my resolution....to motivate our dear Michael to post ONCE somewhere on this FORUM....just ONCE...come on Michael :) All of your ideas are great so far Wee One and just KEEP trying to convince Mr. Bolton. Especially with the trash talking by a few who say Michael NEVER writes his own words or opinions for this forum. Well if there is ever an appropriate time for Michael to participate......hmmmm...this just might be it!!!! I am keeping the faith....another resolution. Goodnight all!!!

27......need I say more !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ROFL
It was great appearing on that show Kathy....did you like my disguise ???????? LOL. In all seriousness that really is tooooooooo funny and "spooky".....far toooooooooooooo much keeps connecting us.....I think I will make out an Ouija board and ask it a few questions; or wait a minute; on second thoughts; the surface you put it on has to be sparkling; that would mean I would need to find my duster and kill a few dust mites; no, I won't bother; I am not that cruel !!!!! lol.
I will certainly keep the faith along with you and as for the trying you certainly know how "trying" I can be !!!!! LOL.
Hope you will pop in often and if you have any thoughts on what we can do that may also appeal to you know who, please contribute !! lol. I have just this very moment thought of another one and it is; how is about for those that know how and those that don't they learn to knit and then we could all knit scarfs for Michael and his contribution could be chosing what particular patterns he would like !!! LOL. I think that is a good one !!! LOL.

Back at you Wee One.....

Surprise, surprise got another resolution for us all and I will admit quite openly that I have pinched it from FB .....to be precise from comments Kathy and Helena put in to a post Helena had put out and what it concerns is the making of a BOLTON SHAKE......no......it is not a movement for the body it is a drink to go in a glass !!!! LOL. The ingredients can be wide and varied, even in fact, they do not have to be consummable for if you don't have a blender then you cannot experiment but you can use your imagination and possibly a few of Mr. Bolton's song titles to arrive at a perfectly smooth, wonderful, concoction which could sound absolutely breathtakingly divine for I am sure with time, love and tenderness anything is possible !!!!!!! lol. You may ask .....what would be MB's contribution to such a resolution and the answer is that he would be allowed to pick what he desired for the final flourish on the top, be it a piece of fruit, umbrella or song title; the choice is his !!!! :))))))
Here is a wee joke for you all.....it is kind of "naughty" but I will watch my terminology...........
There is a woman who lives in a flat, three up, and she is cleaning her windows and she has got a glass eye and here it falls out and heads straight for the pavement/sidewalk but luckily there is a fellow passing by and he sees it and catches it. He then takes it up the stairs to give back to the woman and when he gets to her door she is waiting for him and she says how awfully kind that was of him to catch her glass eye and she invites him into the house and she offers him a drink which he takes. They are sitting chatting away, getting on fine, thoroughly enjoying each others company and then she asks him if he would like something else and he wonders what she means but she gives a wee nod and wink towards the bedroom and naturally, he thinks wow, yeah, sure !!!! So after "business" is done he asks her if she does that "kind of thing" often and she turns and says to him; "Only with those that catch my eye !!" - boom, boom !!!! lol.

So far, we didn't know to have our own
fortune teller Sylvia !!!!
I haven't made the Bolton Shake yet.....I'm planning on making soup first in my blender. How about some Bolton Soup?!?! :)
I would go along with BOLTON SOUP Helena, especially at this time of year, for a good bowl of Scotch Broth will warm the cockles of anyone's heart and you would just have to throw in a little bit of "Soul Provider" into that and it would be more than perfect and that could be the "icing on the cake" for each recipe as it must contain at least one Michael song......that is his contribution dealt with in that one !!!! lol. If anybody else has other suggestions to what MB's contribution could be to such a recipe, please come in and share !!! :) I bet too Michael has plenty of soup recipes for vegetarians that he could come in and share with us.....just a thought !!!!!!!!! LOL. LOL LOL. I will keep trying for I do believe the "dripping tap" does wear away any resolve eventually .....mind you maybe that is going into the realms of a "dare" and I believe he would hold out against one of those for as long as possible....like forever .....yes, could see that steely determination coming in !!!!! LOL.
Sylvia. Your wee Scottish friend.
LOL!!! Well this weekend I'm kinda busy with other things, but may try to make some Bolton Soup next weekend.. We will see!!! :)
Just so long as you come back on here and let us all know the recipe Helena and remember too we will be into February next weekend.....could start looking for plenty of BOLTON SOUP recipes for then !!! :)
Sylvia Your wee Scottish friend.
As it is now 1st February and what Sylvie and I thought this thread should be about was a resolution, or two, for us to try and follow each month we have decided, and we hope that it meets with your approval, to have the following two used for this month and the first of those is to make or to just share in a BOLTON SOUP recipe and to give a little bit of a twist and a little bit of fun we thought the bowl of soup should contain a MB song, or two, somewhere in the ingredients, or for all of the ingredients, for a bowl of soup at this time of year will certainly warm the cockles of your heart as I believe Mr. B. has no trouble doing either !! So please come in and share your wonderful existing soup recipes with us or your completely new inventions so that those who are up for following a resolution can attempt to achieve the ultimate bowl of BOLTON SOUP and below is calendar picture for February showing off the Wild Mushroom Soup that I think I will attempt as that picture makes it look so delicious -
As I said at beginning Sylvie and I thought of two resolutions for this month and the second one we thought you all might like to follow gives you free rein for invention and the opportunity to show off your prose skills as we are giving this thread over to all those who want to make up a poem/limerick and so we are asking you to contribute your very own POEM TO MB ON HIS BIRTHDAY. We do hope that everyone will join in the fun of such a resolution and create poems that are mainly "fun" for we all know that is what Michael, apart from his music and family, thrives on and believe too that in these chilly days of winter, for those of us in the hemisphere where it is winter, a sprinkling of laughter and fun rather than snow must be good for the soul so please lend a little helping hand in making us all smile by sharing with us your very own words and to "kick it all off" I wrote one yesterday which I sincerely hope makes you all smile for, as always with me, that is my intent ........
'Tis your birthday again this year
for 26th February has arrived I fear
but do not fret or dread how near
the big 60 seems now 59 is here;
for if in your mind's eye you're only 9
hip, hip, hooray for I'm only 6 in mine
and as I believe the two us would get along fine
we could enjoy a beautiful meal and some fine wine
then we could decide .........
your place or mine ?????
