Hi folks and as we are now into 2013 and I have managed to get into MB's (couldn't last night - problems with laptop) have decided, whilst the going is good, to get this thread kicked off for another year.
Sylvie and I still believe we should follow same pattern as for last year with us setting ourselves targets of what we hope to achieve each month and of course, any number of resolutions can be followed each month as well as any number being carried over into the following month where it may end up becoming something that we want to achieve throughout the year but the main thing is that, what we set ourselves, we attempt to achieve and we lend our support to each other in trying to reach our goals.
Please consider joining us for a little bit of seriousness but Sylvie and I hope too, a huge lot of laughs throughout the year because that is, without doubt, the #1 Resolution of this thread, to have, FUN !! :)
We also believe that we should extend a very warm welcome to our very own "boss", Michael, for he has given us, so far, three of his own resolutions which he hopes to achieve this year and so we invite him to share with us on here how he is getting on achieving his goals and also, if he just wants a little bit of encouragement to keep going with his aims, we are here to support him and we want him to know that. Also if he decides, at some point in time throughout the year, to set himself another goal he is more than welcome to share it with us on here and again, we will give him all the support he needs !! :) Believe, more than appropriate to place Michael's 3 Resolutions on here along with pictures he sent and so here is the first........................
"New Year Resolution #1. Spend lotsa time with Millie & Gwenny! MB" and the picture is a beautiful one of Michael standing at a patio door, at home in Westport, holding Amelia (Millie) in his arms and it was taken at same time as the beautiful one he sent of himself sitting at table working on book with Amelia dancing in background and in this one Michael is facing camera and he is holding Amelia, who is in profile, but the beautiful thing is she has a little back-pack strapped on and she has an arm up going across strap as though showing the world; "this is mine and your not getting it" or at least trying to keep it on her shoulder for it does look a little bitty big !! :)
"New Year Resolution #2. Enjoy more golf with great buddies like Bruce & Dan. MB" and in this picture are the three of them along with, I believe MB's caddy, for it is an older picture and I am sure it is taken at one of the golf competitions and they are standing on one of the greens of the course. I will check it out and find out exactly when taken once access into my files is a little bitty easier, safer and more guaranteed than of now !! LOL.
Now for Resolution #3........
"New Years Resolution #3. Keep the reciprocal inspiration going with amazing artists like Melanie!" and this picture is a beautiful one of a close up, from waist, of MB and Melanie Fiona and Michael's smile is one of the widest and happiest that he gives and equally too, so is Melanie's......it is a beautiful picture !! :)
Here is #4......"New Year Resolution #4 continue to revel in all the greats who paved the paths. MB" and in this picture Michael is, I believe, in the Motown Museum for there are a couple of pictures on the wall and you can see a couple and I think, one is of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell and the other is of The Temptations and am now changing that thought for sure as I believe now it is in fact of Quincey Jones.....could be totally wrong, nowt new there then....and Michael is standing looking up towards what I would imagine is another picture you cannot see and at his back you can see part of a piano and that is what makes me think it is the Museum and it is the piano that was originally used in a lot of the Motown recordings and which was restored last year.
Now I believe we will have to wait for #5 and I am pretty certain there is going to be one and I wonder how many there could be in total.....7 ????? lol. Must say that I do hope Michael isn't celebrating his 60th birthday this year by pulling a joke on us all with these resolutions for.....to date.....there have been 4 and we have another 56 days till the 26th February....56 + 4 = 60......coincidence ??????? LOL. Obviously if anymore do appear I will place on here !!! :)
.........and #5 has just popped up and it is..............."New Years resolution #5 Dream bigger & bolder than ever!!" and the picture that goes along with is a wonderfully, stunningly, beautiful one and a view to get lost in anytime of the year !! :) It is looking off into the horizon and is taken at sunset and you can see a little strip of land which is dark with palm trees on and there dark shadows creep up into the sunset and just before horizon is a strip of water and you are not half way up on the picture for the following section takes you onto the horizon where the sun is setting and what is captured there would stand alone as an absolutely beautiful picture for the sky is on fire and you can feel the heat, if any could be generated from it let alone the tremendous light shining out....I know I am letting my imagination run riot but I don't believe there would be many who wouldn't see something like that looking at something so beautiful.....and then the top half of the picture is of clouds appearing dark because of the sunset and they are of all various shapes and sizes with little whispy white ones too and in between them the brilliant blue sky shining through and in some respects it is like looking at day and night in the one picture for you have the brilliance of the sky above the clouds still bathed in sunshine with the land below entering night. It is truly, truly gorgeous !! :)
We await #6 and I do not know how MB is going to top that one with the next photo !!! lol.
Hope you will all join in and more importantly, that you all enjoy this thread and cheers to you all for 2013 and may it prove to be one of the best years ever for us all with plenty of "Bolton Adventures" for us to share !! :)

Hi Sylvia, for some reason, I didn't get an alert about this last post of yours this week and by the time I remembered I had to check in, it was Wednesday and I was just too busy so I thought I'd skip a week. I'll post my update on Monday, but wanted to congratulate you on going back to the gym last week! I'm sorry to hear about the tragedy in your neck of the woods... Another one that could have been avoided... Well anyway, I hope you will have had as much success this past week sweetie and as I've said, I'll check in on Monday. Take care Sylvia. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie Qc Canada
I just wanted to say Happy New Year to all. It's been quite a while since I've been here, and I've had a lot happen to me. The only new year's resolution I have for the year is to fall in love for the first time. As for monthly resolutions...to keep sane mostly. Gotta run.
Audrey
aka the quiet one.
Hi Audrey and great to see you back on here and do hope whatever has been happening hasn't been too bad and if so, I hope it is well in the past and fading into a distance memory, even as we speak !!
I was coming on here this morning because both Sylvie and I have let Monday slip past again.....we got so mixed up last year and kept forgetting about this thread that we decided this year to come in on a Monday and report how good, or bad, we had been over week and here we are only in February and we can't even keep that resolution that we made......oh boy.....do we really stand any chance !!!! LOL
Well in actual fact I haven't done too bad this week for as far as weight goes for it is still going down and now in total I have lost 5 pounds since I started....I am pleased with that and now am setting myself a traget for end of April to have lost 1 stone.....let's see if I can achieve it for I am going to have a darn good go at it !!!! LOL. On the gym side of things I went back again on Friday and had a great wee work out and am going to be getting ready, once I have finished on here and of course had another little cup of tea, and set off for the gym once again.
On the decoration in the kitchen not such good news because went to put one of my blinds back up, after painting round window, and got one side up and was fitting other side onto bracket when ......bracket a blind went crashing down along with some plaster round my window frame. So I am going to have to tear away some of the paper and have a good look at what has happened and see if I can replaster myself and have left it for a couple of days as kind of on a downer with it for, if it hadn't happened, that was my kitchen finished and am not touching it today either because it is a beautiful spring day here in Scotland and I am getting out and staying out......so see you all again tonight sometime....byeeeeeeee !!!! LOL
Don't you be such a stranger Audrey and a Happy New Year to you too and I hope all your dreams come true this year and remember what Michael has said; dream bolder and bigger and that is what he is going to do this year so you go for it too....hook, line and sinker !!! :) Take care Audrey and all the very best to you !!! :)

Hi Sylvia, girl, I realized I hadn't posted as I'd turned off the computer yesterday... XP That's okay though, I think we should just consider this as a few hours late... :D Okay, well first, kudos on managing the gym twice last week! You should consider the little mess as a minor setback and I'm sure it'll be fixed in no time. On my side, the week I skipped wasn't very good in the walking department: only 4 out of 7 days, because I just got too busy with finishing up Michael's card. I know, sad excuse... However, I did get my craft supplies well organized and even made dividers in a drawer to organize and tuck away small containers etc. Now this past week, I've been doing wonderfully on walking every day, finished installing my devices on my desk, finished and sent Michael's card, worked on filing away CD's, put finishing touches on a couple of projects and just generally got things moving, because I just felt I didn't have a deadline any more, phew! Sylvia, you can absolutely take the day off fixing the kitchen today and go take a walk and enjoy the nice weather. If my son is in the mood, I just might do the same. It'll be a high of 3 today and it's a beautiful sunshiny day today. If I don't make it out, I'll definitely enjoy being in and pumping out a lot of MB celebratory music so it's all good! :D Thanks for checking in Sylvia and keep up the good work, take care and rendez-vous Monday. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie Qc Canada
Hey Audrey, a happy new year to you too sweetie and I wish you whole-heartedly to keep your resolution for the year, for the month and each and every day. Just see it as: 57 days down, 308 days to go! Good luck Audrey and take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie Qc Canada
Here we are at Monday again and the first Monday in March so I have done my little calendar picture for this month and I have made it up from one of the pictures you get on pizap to use and so it shows a picture frame hanging on a green coloured stone wall and an artists easel to the side with a little bit of the floor in front that you can see being of laminated wood and in the frame I have put my March calendar picture containing a lovely picture of Michael sitting in a tv studio and I am sure it is from a programme that was done here in the UK when he was doing his promotional tour for "Gems" and on the easel I have placed a photo I took the other day of a pot of daffodils that I have sitting in my porch and which have been blooming away beautifully for about a week or more now and they are gorgeous for they are the big trumpets; on the picture frame I have put the words "Spring is just round the corner".....how original !!!! LOL
Now onto how I am doing with my resolutions now that we have hit March and I can safely say the kitchen is behind me now for it is finished finally....maybe a month later than what I had hoped but I am still delighted with what I have achieved because without doubt the worst room in the house to decorate and one day this week I have a friend visiting and he is going to put up my blind for me because when I told him what had happened with plaster he said; but you have got to see to this and then you have got see to that and then you look at this and then you look at that and I said; yeah, I know exactly what you are talking about and I got in the words; "I'm a wee liar !" just before he did and before we both burst out laughing for when it comes to someone that has known you for about the last forty years it is kind of difficult to try and con them !!! LOL.
On the dietary front unfortunately I have stuck this week so going to have to cut down a little further and at least there is no problem there for I know I am still eating far too many chocolate biscuits so they are going to be halved in consumption and see what happens once I do that. Only went to the gym once last week as beginning of week when I was going was day car broke down and I had to head for home rather than going on any further but I got back there on Friday and hope this week to make it twice for I have to say I was delighted with improvement on Friday for I walked just over 2 miles on the treadmill in my 1/2 hour I give myself and I also took the elevation up quite a little bit so nearly back to what I was last September. Also upped things on the other machines I used so, overall, I am delighted with the way things are going and hopefully can only get better !! :) That is really the only targets I have set myself for March is to try and continue to lose weight and get a bit stronger and fitter at the gym and only other thing I really want to do now is, before end of March, paint the woodwork in my hallway for I washed it all down the other day but it is still looking a little worn and dull so a nice little lick of paint should brighten it back up again and that is me for March.
Hope everyone has felt that February was good to them and are raring to go with all their resolutions/goals for March and, more importantly, feel like coming on here and sharing with us......come on, where are you all ????? lol. Wonder what Michael's resolution for March is now that he has got the big 60 out the road....maybe that is a question could put to him on Wednesday and ask him why he doesn't come onto this thread and let us know.....here comes the dripping tap again to try and get him on his website and maybe that is a resolution/goal I should have set myself for 2013 or, maybe not, when its achievement is probably already known to be a goal too far, but...................... !!!! LOL.

Hey Sylvia, here I am, following your lead and thanks for leading! :D Well, I'm glad to hear about your improvements at the gym and that's one step in the right direction. On the weight issue, at least you haven't gained any so another plus! :D So is your friend going to teach you the wonders of drywall for your kitchen? I remember when we bought this house, I knew nothing about drywall and plastering, but I did so much in 3 months that the plaster dust stopped my braille watch from working! lol I was told I did a great job though... :D Well on my side, I'm back up to 5 days of walking, but I've done more walking in those 5 days than I usually do, so I'm pretty pleased with myself. On the organizing, did a bit more with the CD's and finally got started on labeling a bunch of opera tapes my opera buddy gave me and did a third of it, so that's a start. After those are done, I need to sort through print material and file that too. She gave me a treasury of opera stuff! Anyway, it might take me all month, so in April, I'll need to reorganize a closet to lodge this and other stuff, which will be an undertaking, phew! Anyway, I love having to come here weekly to report publicly so I have to kick myself in the pants to do it: I'm glad I thought of it! :D So there you go Sylvia. Good luck at upkeeping with the gym visits and especially cutting down on sweets! Take care Sylvia. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie Qc Canada
Not a lot to report this week for I have had a little invalid so myself has taken a back seat apart from fact I went to gym on Wednesday, Friday and again today and today I broke my own record and walked 2.5 miles on the treadmill in a 1/2 hour.....way to go Sylvia !! I was thrilled when I saw that and couldn't quite believe it and as I say broke my own record....OMG I will soon be running on it...hahahahahahahaha !!! LOL. Blind up and kitchen completely finished....yipeeeeee but as I say little invalid in Jack and not coming on quite as quickly as I had hoped but will give him another couple of days and see how things go and then it may just be back to the vet......bite abscess is what he has got at back of ear so have had to keep on cleaning and bathing it but it looks suspiciously as though it is closing back up again without everything being out....he is such a good wee soul letting me bathe it and see to him that I feel so sorry for him but have to say, know he got the bite in the fight, but I do wonder what the other "guy" ended up looking like !!! LOL.

Hey Sylvia, oh poor little Jack: I hope he feels better soon! Wow, good for you breaking your own record, pat yourself on the back! Lol Well I’ll bet you’re happy that your kitchen is finally finished! So what room comes next? :D Or will you start attacking the garden soon? Well on my side, I’ve managed to walk every day this week, even if it was only for 45 minutes, but most days for a full hour, which means I’m really getting into the habit, so thank God for that! I’ve managed to file away a pile of CD’s in various sections and even had to dust off another unit, but it fits perfectly on a shelf so it’s all good. I’ve also labelled another box of tapes and only have one left, phew! I’m knee-deep in opera stuff, but it’s so worth it... Anyway, so it was a productive week and hope I can keep it up. Thanks for coming in Sylvia and keep me posted on Jack, okay? Take care sweetie. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie Qc Canada
Glad you are getting on well Sylvie for cleaning out my walk in cupboard is something I sorely need to do as you open the door now and that is about as far as you get so hearing you filing this away and filing that away makes me think I need to file a whole load of stuff away...yeah...straight into the bin !!!! LOL. Good for you for it sounds as though you certainly have achieved a lot Sylvie.....well done you !! :)
Just a little up-date on Jack for last night I could see it was getting a bit worse again, nothing like what it was, but certainly stopping going in the right direction so I bathed it and bathed it and then took the bull by the horns and next time bathing got a hold of and burst again and thank goodness I did for plenty came out and Jack jumped initially and then within two seconds was purring away and I was getting cat kisses and when he eventually came in for his bed I bathed again and he stood looking up at me letting me do it and there was a big difference to the way it looked then and this morning it looks terrific and a lovely little scab is forming right over it and at least now because the swelling has gone down a bit you can't see so much of his huge bald patch.....honestly he looked liked a sheep that had been part sheared !!! LOL Think by next Monday all should, hopefully, be well and truly back to normal there unless he meets that cat again or if was a fox he had a fight with....as vet did hint at possibility when it was so bad and had emerged so quickly to the size it was and of course Jack would fight with a lion if it came onto his territory !! lol
Gorgeous little spell of weather here for we had it last week and then weekend was horrendous with gales and snow and we now have sunshine back.....it is freezing but beautiful so today I am taking myself off for a nice long walk along the prom and I am going to wear my little pedometre, or whatever it is called, and see just how far I do walk for I haven't actually put that on and measured my walks for quite a while so am going to start doing that too and will report back next Monday how I have done....this fitness lark has certainly got me going and I think it really stems from fear when 62 is now coming up fast on the heels of 61 !!!! LOL.

Hey Sylvia, thanks for the update on Jack, what a brave little trouper! I’m glad to hear he’s doing better. Ahh, that’s one of the reasons I don’t have pets: I’d be worse than a first time mother and couldn’t stand to have the poor little thing be in pain. At least babies let you know when they’re in pain and they don’t get into fights! Lol Uh-oh, it sounds like the walk-in closet hasn’t been visited in a while... I can sympathize though: it’s such an undertaking. BTW, would that be your bedroom closet or storage closet? I think the less intimidating way would be to do it in sections, one week at a time. I did that with my crawl-space once until my daughter moved and all her stuff was moved there. At least, it's organized. I agree the old pedometer is a very good way to stay focussed. Maybe you should take it to the gym too Sylvia! :D Yeah, nothing like a birthday to scare you into action, right? Well anyway, enjoy your walk sweetie and thanks for the pat on the back, take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie Qc Canada
Hello friends.
I've not forgotten. I always put myself down over this barrier that I have difficulty to overcome: my language.
Congratulations on the success of your projects. The sun came out in the south of France and I started to walk and make beautiful ballads. For now I am happy with my results regarding my weight - 6 lbs.
I also have a new project. Is to make a moneybox to go to a concert in Europe! I do not know if you can guess the name of the singer??? So, I leave you to your business.
Good day. Be in good health.
Friendships of France.
