I though it might be fun for us all to review the albums together song by song  and post comments, questions, lyrical analysis, or whatever comes to mind.  Since it was the first album I bought (ever), I thought I would start with the album, "The Hunger."

Homework: whip out 'The Hunger' on tape, cd, or mp3, and hit play:

Track 1: "Hot Love" clocking in at 3:48, Written by Michael Bolton and Martin Briley

I never knew someone who made me feel so good before
But I never gave my heart to anyone who could hurt me more

And when you promise me that no one else will ever take my place
I get the feeling you're just leading me on and lying right to my face

First you say you want me then you say you're leaving
I've gotta know if I'm coming or going with you
When ya say you need me, do you really mean it?
Maybe it's true, I just wish I could believe it

Hot love, ya leave me so cold
But one touch and you've got me where ya want me
Hot Love, ya leave me so cold
I don't know if I'm coming or going
There's no way of knowing with you

Just when I give it up, the game is through and your heart is mine
I turn around, you're up to somthing new, ya do it time after time

What's it gonna take to break this circle?
I've gotta know, am I coming or going with you?
and when ya hurt me, do ya really mean to?
Ya say ya don't, I wish I could believe you

Hot Love, ya leave me so cold
But one touch and you've got me where ya want me
Hot lvoe, ya leave me so cold
I don't know if I'm coming or going
There's no way of knowing with you

You come on like a fire buring
And I'm lost in the flame
Over and over again

Hot love, ya leave me so cold
But one touch and you've got me where ya want me
Hot love, ya leave me so cold
I don't know if I'm coming or going
There's no way of knowing with you

This album starts with a bang for me. I have always been more of a rock fan, so I loved this track right off the bat. Very guitar heavy, nice licks and very angsty lyrics sung with fire.

I think it's Bruce Kulic that plays guitar on this track....going from memory, so correct me if I'm wrong. :)

Lyrically, it sounds like the guy is being led by his sexual desires(tried to think of a less crude way to say that and failed). He has a great physical relationship, which to most guys is #1 proirity, and 'thinks' he has feelings for her, but sounds like she is a conniving one and using her feminine wiles and has no real feelings for her boyfriend. He is starting to get a clue, but not really ready to let go of the killer physical aspect of their relationship.

Michael's voice in this is excellent....he sound p*ssed, which is perfect for the song. Again, the work fire comes to mind.

anybody else love or hate this song? Thoughts??? Next up: track 2 'Wait On Love', the complete opposite of this song :)
I love this song. It's one of my favorites.
