Thank you Olga for sharing that and for the links and picture you have put in.....thank you !!! :)    I have heard and seen Toto for I have an Italian friend who also likes him and I have gone into youtube and listened to a few of his songs and I like him also !!! :)   My "teenage years" hero, dreamboat and favourite singer also turned 70 this year in January, Scott Walker, an American who has adopted the UK as his home;   that is the only trouble when you look back for, like us, they are all getting older too !!!!! LOL.   Oh, if only we could go back in time !!!! lol

Hi Olga, oh how we love the idols of our childhood, don't we?  Thank you for sharing those great videos. I quite enjoyed "Emozioni" and I knew "Solo noi" from a looooooong time ago, but in French by one of my childhood favorites, a woman called Mimi Hétu:

Ooh, how that one dates me! lol I'll tell you Olga, you really had me searching for that one because I knew I recognized the music... :D Thank you for sharing those lovely links and I do hope your idol recovers quickly from his health issues. My childhood idol  who was my musical first crush was 9 years old and I was 7 at the time. His name was René Simard and he sang like an angel. He still makes music today and has branched out into musical theater in the past few years. Anyway, Olga, I have a question: how does a Russian girl get into Italian music? When I was a child, in the USSR on TV showed festival of the Italian song in San Remo. We all were in love with the Italian language and Italian tunes..For Russian hearing Italian language is very pleasant sounds and it is very easy to recite Italian words. For us difficult to pronounce English and French "R", and the Italians pronounce the "r" as the Russians. The Italians and the Russians are similar in temperament..We are emotional, sensual, love to sing, have fun, and very friendly to communicate, too :)))

For all Schoolgirls USSR Toto Cutugno seemed to be a Prince from a fairy tale..These black curly hair, brown eyes, white teeth, sensual, hoarse voice..wow!

Hi again Olga, thanks for your response. Oh wow, I know and love that Joe Dassin song! Joe Dassin was pretty popular here in Quebec. You’re lucky to have been able to watch the San Remo  festival on TV. I think the most we’ve ever seen here in Canada were the “Pavarotti and friends” events, aside from the Italian television channel. Thanks for explaining the attraction to Italian performers: that makes sense, I never thought of that... Our Michael was in San Remo a few years back. Chec these out, first in 2002:
