Welcome everyone to the 2014 Tour Review Thread.  The upcoming year is going to be exciting with so many concerts scheduled already around the globe!!! Feel free to share the details of your concert adventures, photos, videos etc.  This is the best time to be a Bolton fan with so many concerts and the MBC Charity Event which will most likely be held later in the year too. Michael has multiple projects in the works so we never know what will happen next!!!! I appreciate the opportunity to start a new thread once again for 2014 to give us all a place to share the best part of being a fan--- experiencing Michael in person doing what he does best-SING!!!!!!

I am looking forward to another fun year of posts and sharing great times by the best Michael Bolton fans in the world on this forum. I will post events to keep the thread moving along as the concerts come up as I have in the past.

Happy Concert Time in 2014 to all of you!!!

I was looking in your direction and smiled as I was leaving but we all know what it is like when everyone leaves at once :)

I was most likely in another world. Since I'm from Wilmington I saw all kinds of people I knew. I only got to speak to Doug James for a second before he went to see Michael. But the show was lacking for me, not because of Michaels performance but because my concert buddy Debbie wasn't wasn't there. She passed away about a year ago and she would have been so thrilled that Michael was in her home state.

I know you were missing Debbie. I was thinking about her too Sally...She would want you to go and enjoy the shows..

I live in Pa but born and raised in Delaware. It was nice to see Michael in a more intimate setting. I am sure the concert had to of been bittersweet for you without your friend.

Gremlins were about and I can see photos fine now so thanks very much indeed for sharing them Denise for they are lovely and great to see....thanks !!! :)

Sylvia.  Your wee Scottish friend.

Just saw on fb today a way to copy a picture album link without the need of being a fb friend - never too old to learn something new!!!! (and if anyone is on fb, new friends with mutual love for great talent is always welcome <3 https://www.facebook.com/denise.m.almanza

The next concert on MB's tour is at the Music Center at Strathmore, Bethesda, MD on Sunday, March 2, 2014.

I am hoping the winter weather they are calling for holds off till later after midnight so we can get to this one and back. It starts at 7:00 so that's a little bit of a help as weather could change from some rain to a mess later on near midnight or so.  Doing a no snow/sleet/freezing rain dance here..This one would be my last of these shows till I go to one in Bethlehem in May..Then we won't have this weather stuff to deal with, thank goodness!

Everyone going to this one have fun and be safe on the roads.  Hope to see some reviews other than mine and if I don't get there I hope someone else can get there and do one..

Robin I keeps quite firmly the fingers crossed for You everybody.

In Germany we have a moved forward spring. Here would have no problems to go on a concert!

Petra Christine (Germany)

Thank you Petra. I wish we would get closer to spring here too...This storm is going north of us and we may catch the southern edge but not sure till it's closer..It's still out in CA right now..Talking of major snows north of me in Philadelphia and that's good the big snow probably won't come here (we hope)..Unless it goes further south..

Oh the fun of weather and concerts in winter--(NOT)!!LOL

Thanks for your good thoughts, we need all we can get here!

MB Birthday Concert!!!!!!!!!!

The venue was very pretty inside at the DE concert on Wednesday night.  MB commented on it when he came out on the stage right after Soul Provider.  Kelly Levesque had posted a venue photo and it really does show how beautiful it was. The sound was great too.    We had perfect seats on the right side front row and we were literally at the low stage. that worked!! They had big signs up about no photos during the performance and no recording.  So I did not take a camera out for most of the show. It was fun just sitting and watch the show this time for the most part and not having a camera in my face as much as usual. I enjoy the photo taking but have so many I’ve tried to cut back on the number I take to enjoy the shows more just watching.

MB really did a beautiful rendition of Soul Provider to open the show. He really seemed pumped with that one.  We had heard that the band/crew surprised him backstage on his birthday and you all have seen the photo posted with him and a cake. That was cool!!

The venue was full but no one had gifts or anything for MB, nothing was handed up to the stage during the show.  The venue seemed strict on things like that being brought in.

However, once he finished Soul Provider MB said hello Wilmington, Delaware, commented on the beautiful venue, thank you etc…well then the band started playing Happy Birthday and MB starting laughing and pointing and wiggling a finger to his band (like they are in trouble) and Kelly lead off the audience singing it to MB. Everyone sang along and the audience applauded and applauded him at the end of it. He teased that his band was in trouble and then he did say thank you and that the show happened to be on the day he was born and said something about the number of years, I forgot the exact statement but it was funny and started talking about  To Love Somebody.   MB did see us sitting down front during Soul Provider and smiled at us when he came over to our side of the stage.  LOL  After Dock of the Bay he got up from the stool and looked over at me to toss the guitar pick. He tossed it and it hit my shoulder and fell on the floor but I did get it this time!! He’s back to using black pics and they are harder to find. The white ones were easier to find when they hit the floor!!l LOL Too funny…

MB really gave props to Doug James  who co-wrote How Am I Supposed To Live W/o You with him. MB said how that song changed his life and career and how the people in the music industry you were chasing now suddenly are chasing you!  He said what a great man Doug is and also a life long friend and it took time to find Doug in the audience as he was in the balcony seats. So when he asked us to take over he said to sing it to him and Doug also.   The couple beside us evidently knew Doug James as they had seats and passes they said Doug gave them.  The gentleman was a huge fan and so beside himself during the show.. He was very excited.

MB had a lady yell out at him at one point during the show asking him to dedicate a song to her. He joked back about not sure about doing that…Another lady after Nessun Dorma asked him to do it again!! He laughed and said no only once a night!!LOL  He got another standing ovation!!!!! After Nessun Dorman he made the statement that he learned 2 things while studying with Pavarotti, one that Puccini is not a mushroom but the great composer, and that if he forgot the words we wouldn’t know anyway. LOL  I laughed and he did look down at me and said something like Robin, the joke is funny for people that are hearing it the first time.  I said it’s still funny to me too!! He laughed and I laughed.. Oh geez…

When Kelly came out to do the duets she again wished him Happy Birthday and he smiled.  The band wasn’t giving it up about his birthday!! LOL  The duets were beautiful and Ain’t No Mountain High Enough really rocked it. The Prayer was amazing and we gave them a standing ovation for it!! They do that one so well!!!!!OMG

Kelly did the medley again of songs MB wrote for other artists and she really killed it.  I’ve come to really enjoy her. She waved down to us when she came out. I want to talk to her at some point and get a photo with her. Amazing lady..

I still had not even touched my camera by the time MB went out to sing When A Man Loves A Woman.  He went a short distance over on the left side of the seats on the floor so we stood up by the stage at our seats and watched.   I saw camera flashes going off. Earlier when people did try to take pictures the ushers were on them so I never did but at this point they didn’t chase after people. So once he got back on stage I took my camera out. No one stood at the stage as we were already at it so we chair danced and rocked out and it was still fun being so close in the seats anyway.. MB came over during TLT and put the mic down and I snapped a pic of it and got it!!LOL He grinned as he kept singing. He's funny!!!  I was using the motion setting a lot when he was so close and no flash so not to blind him. For further back ones I then turned it back on and no one bothered me till the show ended. He did TLT and How Can We Be Lovers…then the encore this time was different, he just did Go The Distance dedicating it to the military around the world. I've not heard that one in a while and it was as beautiful as I remembered when he sang it years ago, especially right after 9/11.  It was so appropriate for that time.   The show seemed to go by so fast but it was a lot of fun.  The crowd cheered and clapped for a good while at the end. It was somewhat of an older crowd but they were loud enough and really appreciated MB and the band.

After the show we did get to chat with Cameron and get photos with her. She’s such a nice gal and I’m going to miss her on the tour.  She’s happy to become a mother and feeling good she says so far traveling.  Jason talked to me briefly from the side of the stage too.  He asked how many shows.. Now he's getting into it!!LOL

We had a fun time on MB’s Birthday and he seemed to enjoy the birthday love but at the same time was ready to go on with the show!!  LOL He says how he’s counting backwards now so I guess he means it!!LOL  We had some cards taken backstage prior to the show so we hope he got to see them.

Thank you once again to MB and the band for giving us another fun night rocking out and having a blast!!!!!!!!

Robin in MD :)

Below is the pic of him putting the mic down to me during TLT!!!! I had to take the picture!!!! :)

P.S. Sorry this pic is a little distorted here, I'll post it in the gallery with some others.

PSS-Sally feel free to jump in to share something else I may have missed!!!!

Wow Robin nobody gives a review like you do, thanks so much!!  As far as the snow on Sunday night and Monday it's been downgraded at least for New England.  We're only suppose to get a coating to 2 inches, so I hope that goes for you too.  Have a blast in MD!!!!

            Diane  :)

Thanks Diane about the review. I have to sit and think at times to remember stuff.. LOL

Well I don't want sleet/freezing rain to drive back home in after the show by the time I get up here on my end. I think it will be ok in Bethesda, we worry about up here and on beyond me as my friend lives north of me and wanted to get home before this storm comes in on Monday.  Where is it going if you aren't getting as much? I hope it's not coming further south or we will get more..not sure what's what yet..Keep watching the weather here..LOL  Thanks for the good thoughts.

I hope to get pics in the gallery tonight.
