I believe Michael has the voice of an angel - I have seen him in concert 3 times and his voice takes me to another world - AND he is sure easy on the eyes
Hi Lori, well, it looks like you’re new on this forum so I’ll say welcome! This is a great forum, we love it! Did you just check my page because I’m from Canada too? Cool you’re from Montreal, when did you move to NB? I’ve lived here all my life and the furthest I’ve traveled was Mississippi to see Michael! So, how long have you been a fan and have you ever been in the MBPlatinum club? I’ve been a fan for just about 20 years and was in the club until it closed down. So when did you meet Michael? Wow, it’s incredible that he helped you out of a coma, I couldn’t think of a better way out! :D Sorry about the 20 questions… It’s nice to make new friends! Take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Qc Canada
Hehe, I agree that 3 concerts are not enough but then again, what amount really is? Michael’s been here a few times but I’ve only been able to attend twice. My 5 other concerts I’ve had to travel for. Wow, cool you’ve grown up on the West Island! I grew up in Rosemont but came over here in ’84 with my husband. Lori, did you meet Michael at your first concert? There are great threads here about people’s first concerts, introduction to Michael’s music etc. One of my favorite ones is “16 years ago…” that I recommend to all my new friends! I hope you can share your story with everyone, I’m sure a lot of people would love to read it! I’ll look forward to chat some more, take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hey Lori, bonjour à toi aussi! I’m glad you found your article! Uploading a file is fairly easy. First, you could just copy/paste it into a form field, but if it’s too long, there’s another way. First, you follow this link: http://michaelbolton.ning.com/forum/topics/16-years-ago-today-april...
Ah chute, I was going to explain in detail how to do it, but I can’t tell you to click right or left on this or that, because I literally do this blindly! Lol I’m legally blind and work with a screen-reader program… Well, if I can do it, it should be easy for you! I get E-mails from threads that I follow and I follow that one so, I should know when you’ve uploaded it, I’m looking forward to it! The thread is really nice to read too. Take care. Oh, thank goodness, it’s cooled down here in the past few days but 2 weeks ago, it was unbearable here: 42 with the Humidex! Take care Lori and keep cool! Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie
Hi Lori, I double-checked the link I gave you and it works for me so I don’t know… Hope it works next time you try. If not, look in “general chat” for the “16 years ago today…” thread. As far as I know, uploading a file should be as easy as uploading a photo. What I said was that I’m blind and it would be hard for me to give you instructions. Lol, my picture is not of me and my husband, I’m with Michael’s brother Orrin. This picture was taken in 2004, in the lobby of the Stanford Mariot. I was there for the MBC gala weekend. Good luck with the upload and find somewhere shady to have that brewsky! Take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hi Lori, good to hear from you! Yeah, I was told Orrin looked like Michael: he’s a sweetheart! He’s a musician too, he has a CD out and will apparently be releasing another one this year. I suggest you Google “Orrin Bolton fan site” and read up on him. He had a very interesting life so far. Oh my, I hope your article isn’t too long to retype! Lol I’m looking forward to reading it. So, did you find the “16 years ago today…” thread? I hope so. Hehe, I don’t know how limited we are for the amount of characters here! Ah, don’t worry about knowing much French, one of my friends from Ontario was originally born in England and knows more French than her husband who lived all his life here! Take care sweetie and have a great day too! Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hey Lori, you said you didn’t have much patience to lose? Well, at least you have determination! Lol I don’t really know how limited we are character-wise with blog posts or profile posts, but I’ve had the experience with blog responses on the previous MB web site and personal messages from friends on this one. I thought I’d had lost messages, until one day, I read the top of the page that said “we’re sorry…” and it said the character limit was 4000: I tend to be long-winded! Lol So you went to see fireworks, was something special being celebrated or was that a fireworks competition? Oh girl, trust me, there are a lot of people that are way worse off than I am. Sometimes, being blind is frustrating but very good things have come with it too… You could have started a new discussion to tell your story, but putting a blog on your page is more personal so that’s cool. Have you read the thread I’ve sent you? I just love the stories in there. Well Lori, glad you didn’t give up! Have a look around the site, there are great topics and great people here. Take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hey Lori, great to hear from you! I’m not too bad. I’m looking forward to the kids going back to school in 11 days! It won’t be a concert, but since my boys will be out, I’ll put on several MB CD’s in a row and clean up my house to help with my MB craving! Lol This has been the nicest summer we’ve had in 3 years over here. Granted, it’s been very warm, but the 2 past summers have been too rainy and cold so it’s a welcome change. As far as I know, the next time Michael comes to Canada will be in January, in Niagara Falls. Good luck on teaching your dog manners sweetie. Oh, listen, have you heard about Michael’s new Xmas CD coming out in October? Michael said he’ll be singing “The prayer” on it! I don’t know if you know this song but I just love it by Josh Groban and Charlotte Church! We know so far that he’ll be singing the Italian part. The song is usually a duet, half English/half Italian, but Michael hasn’t mentioned a singing partner for this song. However, we’ve just found out that he’ll be singing a duet with Elaine Paige on her duets album, released in November in the U.K. and early 2011 in the U.S. Where would we be without Amazon? All right, gotta go but it was nice hearing from you Lori! Take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hey Lori, haven’t heard from you in a while, how have you been? Did the hurricane have any effect on your neck of the woods? And have you been able to watch Michael on “Dancing with the stars”? It was so exciting last week! My daughter managed to register me on the ABC web site and voted 12 times for me! Lol I don’t know if you’ve seen the “Michael on Dancing with the stars” thread but fans are going nuts voting! It’s a lot of fun… We all hope that Michael is taking care of himself. It’s really too bad he had to cancel those 2 concerts because of laryngitis… He’s got his inaugural benefit gala tonight and he’s dancing again tomorrow. His partner Chelsie says he’s doing really well, guess we’ll find out tomorrow. Well, take good care of yourself Lori and don’t be a stranger! Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hi Lori, lol you're not a bug sweetie, but I need to take the time to respond to all your messages properly and I only have time to skim through right now. Will respond to all your messages as soon as possible. Glad you found the thread, by the way. Take care and talk to you soon. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Lorri, I love your story. Am very glade for you that you got to meet Michael. He is such a wonderful man. I just sent Juliet a message asking her to add you to the Bolton Bear Group. Juliet runs marathons with Bolton Bear to help raise money for Michael's charaties. I am so greatful that Juliet does this for MBC. Bolton Bear is just so cute isn't he??!!! I hope you have a great day. Love, Shannon xoxo
I am glade i met you too. The first song that is playing on my page is called "This River", it is on Michael's Greatest Hits album. It is a beautiful song. Send me a private message with your email address and I will send you One World One Love as an attachment. If you would like I can include This River with it. Have a great evening. Love, Shannon xoxo
Hi Lori, I just wanted to share this with you. Shannon posted a picture or a few pictures of her dog in an Underdog costume and I thought you'd enjoy seeing this: http://www.michaelbolton.com/forum/topics/theres-no-need-to-fear?xg...
So there you go sweetie, take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hi Lori, Wow just read your blog I'm glad Michael was inspirational to you and your recovery. Was that your first time meeting Michael (photo pictured)? I'm only asking because of your expression, you look very happy. Regarding People yes he's on the current issue that hit the stands on Friday 19th regarding the sexiest men article. I haven't seen it yet, but Sylvie mentioned it was only a small notation. I'm gonna try to check it out when hit the grocery store tomorrow. I'm gonna friend request you if that's ok. Still new here so hopefully will do it right. Bye for now Sylvia-Texas
Hi Lori, aww, you're such a sweetheart! Yes I'm fine sweetie but I have a pile of messages and hardly any time to respond! lol I like to take the time to respond properly and have something remotely interesting to say so I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Hope you and sir Chancelot are doing well. Take care my sweet friend. Big hugs and kisses to you, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hi Lori, I'm finally getting back to you, sorry about that. We've only had dustings of snow but almost every day for the past few days and it's bitterly cold. Thank God, I haven't had to go out! Today was beautiful but again, -30 with the wind-chill. I hope it's nicer soon for you so you can get some fresh air. I'm so sorry to hear about your niece's dog passing on. Oh that will leave a big hole in her life. My uncle used to have 2 Persian cats and they were like his kids too. Well, it's certainly cold enough to make artificial snow but who wants to go? Had a busy weekend: I've had visits from both my daughters. I miss them both but we're keeping in touch. Hope you feel better soon Lori. You never did tell me if you had a new year's resolution... :DMine is to not make resolutions and I'm doing well so far! :D Take good care of yourself Lori. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hi Lori, it’s so wonderful to hear from you sweetheart! Yes I did get your PM, but I’m backed up with messages, because my boys have been off school for March break, so I’m catching up as fast as I can! Okay, what you need to do to know when it’s on in your area, is to check the listings on your PBS station. Now, here’s the link to find which is your PBS station and then go from there.
You see, in my area, I have 2 PBS stations: one in Vermont and one in NY. I’ve “seen” the show 3 times already! The “Hitman returns” program will be aired at various times throughout the month, but if you miss it, you can buy it on CD/DVD in the store. It’s been out since last Tuesday. You see, today, Michael was taping those “in between” segments during pledge breaks. It’s not a separate program, it’s just segments to be inserted during the show. If you look for it in the store,, it’s called “Hitman returns, David Foster & friends” and it’s sold in a CD case. I hope that helps sweetheart. I’ll write to you soon Lori, hope that helps for now. Take care. Big hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hey Lori, I'll respond to your other message as soon as I can: I try to go by priority. I'm not on Facebook sweetie, but that's where you can ask Michael questions. Let me know what you ask him! My friend put 2 questions up for me that I had asked on a blog last year and hope for the best that he'll answer this time. Take care sweetie. Big hugs to you, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hi Lori, how are you? I’m pretty good, saw both my daughters over the weekend. Oh I’m glad you like Scotty, I thought you would. I agree about the talent on AI this year: it’s gonna be a tough race. I have to say I loved Simon because he had mellowed over the years but don’t really miss him. Steven Tyler makes things interesting. He’s in Aerosmith, by the way. Last week’s AI show on Thursday with Stevie Wonder was so amazing! I’m really glad to hear your ankle and foot are doing better! Oh girl, I know what it’s like to try and be independent! Sorry you couldn’t go to church, but it’s cool that you can listen on-line. I hope for you that you can go for walks soon Lori. The thing is that we had a taste of spring and then it was taken away. When I went to my daughter’s yesterday, it was bitterly cold, -16 with wind chill factor. Well, lucky you only gained 3 lbs Lori! Lol Did you have to take a wine break because of your meds? Well, I understand it’s not easy taking a break from things you love. No harm in venting a little. My son’s new room is coming along: the painting’s almost done and I have to work on making curtains, slowly but surely. I’ve been studying “Les misérables” for the past couple of weeks, both the book and the musical and quite enjoyed it. Well, nice talking to you too Lori, have a great week! Take care. Big hugs to you and woofs to sir Chancelot, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hi Lori, in response to your message, I commend you for choosing to cut out something you love. I should cut out junk from my diet, although I am quite reasonable with it and exercize more lately. Oh, so your parents are French? I can’t remember the last time I’ve had a drink: the strongest stuff I have is coffee! :D Oh, I thought because of your leg, you might have been on some medication. How is it this week? Better, I hope. Is the weather and winds still horrendous or is it starting to feel like spring finally? Oh wow, I didn’t know you could have your lashes and brows darkened… Dare I ask how the new hairdresser worked out? :D I must say I’m not adventurous with my hair and don’t even care that I have some silver in it now: what you see is what you get. I never want to worry about roots: to me, it’s a waste of time and money. My hairdresser knows me and I’m out of there within 15 minutes. My eldest son’s new room is coming along nicely: we just need to clean the carpet and he should move in next week. He’ll be glad when all the work is over with! Lol Hey, another day, another challenge and as long as we’re alive, we trek ahead: a little music for the soul and staying in touch with friends for the heart and we’ll be just fine! Take good care of yourself Lori and sir Chancelot. Big hugs, sincerely, your friend Sylvie from Qc
Hi Lori, I’m glad you enjoyed “A song for mama”, it makes me cry no matter what. Sorry to hear you’ve lost your mom too. From what I understand, Michael will be singing with Delta Goodrem, an Australian singer on DWTS. Their duet on “Gems” is called “I’m not ready” and maybe that’s what they’ll be singing, we don’t know yet. Oh I’m so glad you’ve finally been able to go out! I did go on a walk with my eldest son yesterday, but we’ve had a horrid couple of weeks weather-wise here. At least, it finally made my tulips open: I have huge yellow ones and pink ones too! It’s too bad they don’t last very long… I hope the pain in your legs is getting better. At least, I think going out should pick you up and feel more energized to exercize. I’ve heard that we might get a special version of “Gems in Canada, so I’ll be keeping an eye on Amazon and keep you posted on the news. Take good care of yourself Lori and I’ll look forward to hear from you. Big hugs to you and woofs to sir Chancelot, sincerely, Sylvie in Qc xxx
