Wet some cotton wool and put it on top of the kitchen paper. Make sure there is a gap between the cotton wool and the top of the egg shells or yoghurt pots. Put some cress seeds on the cotton wool and press them down gently. Put your egg shells or pot in a sunny, warm spot - try a kitchen windowsill. Make a Cress Head using a yoghurt pot Included in the March box you will receive approximately 200 cress seeds and a piece of cotton wool. We use half a clean egg cup to grow the cress in but if you don't have any eggs you could use an old yogurt pot,a toilet roll or a small cup. The first thing we always do when making an eggy head is to draw a face on the clean egg shell. Put 2 or 3 damp cotton wool balls into the egg shell. Sprinkle cress seeds on top of the cotton wool (we added quite a lot as I let Harry sprinkle it in) Leave them in a sunny spot and wait for them to grow. If the cotton wool dries out add a little extra water (we had to do this a couple of times) Our cress heads grew really quickly. How to grow cress caterpillars - instruction s. Firstly cut the egg box in half so that we have 3 mini plant pots in a row. Next we cut a caterpillar face from the egg box lid. Paint the whole caterpillar and face green and then allow to dry. Using sticky tape attach the caterpillar face to the body. Stick on curled pipe cleaners for antennae. 2) Place egg contents (yolks and whites) in a Tupperware container for later. Never waste a delicious egg! 3) Rinse your eggshells with warm water and set upside down on paper towel to dry. 4) Once dry, decorate each egg head however you wish.
