The original K mount Pentax cameras were the KX, KM and K2. They were very poor sellers. By 1975, when they were introduced, they did not have any features which other cameras didn't have many years earlier and they were much larger and heavier than the Olympus OM-1 of 1972. I have a K1000 and several other non-Pentax K mount cameras.
