I have purchased less expensive shredders with better performance. Unit overheats very quickly and shuts down. The 14-sheet capacity is a joke. This HD1400MX is overall a good crosscut shredder and the 2nd in 10 years that I've had. The original, with the same exact model #, was a confetti style of crosscut, so I ordered this one assuming it was too, but alas, it is not. It crosscuts into long, 1.5" strip that could easily be read if you don't shred the paper in the right direction. Royal HD1400MX cross-cut shredder provides significant security. Shreds 14 sheets per pass to handle large, multi-user jobs.
