Michael has a milestone birthday coming up in February 2018. I ran an idea past Gail that passed with approval. I have small cards that are 2.5X3.5. The idea for the card is not to say happy birthday, but you have room to put a few sentences to tell Michael why you love him, his music or how his music helped you in hard times. It’s should be big enough for a wallet size photo if you would like. Then when he’s home sitting at his desk, he can pull 1 or 2 cards to read when he has the time. Our words will be with him all year. I request a SASE, and I will send you a card. Write your note and put in your picture. When your finished, mail it back to me. For those out of the country, I checked with my postmaster and she said you can put your own postage on the return envelope equivalent to $1.15 US. Email me, Sally, at MYSCRTPSSN@gmail.com and I can give you an address to send your SASE (self addressed stamped envelope). A second option that isn’t as personal, is to email me a short note and I can cut and paste it onto a card for you. I don’t want to handle pictures this way because I’m not that computer literate and don’t want to make errors with something as personal as a picture. When all the cards are gathered, I’ll put them in some sort of decorate box. And the box of cards will be Michael’s birthday gift from us. It might seem early, but it’s something that we can work on Now through January. I’d like to be finished by February since I would need to get a box and mail it off to Michael. Hi again Ann, thanks for your reply. OMG, you haven’t seen Michael since 1991? Wow, and I was complaining about it being almost 5 years since he’s been here... Michael did a Canadian tour in 2010, but he skipped Montreal that time: he was here last in 2009, but before that, it had been 1998. However, he’s been to that darn Casino Rama in Orillia Ontario probably every year since 2004. I was told it’s supply and demand: if he’s invited, he’ll come. I wish I knew who to harass... :D I’m sorry Ann, I’m geographically-challenged: is B.C. closer to you than Ontario? I know Michael’s been to Vancouver once or twice in the past few years, but as I’ve said, Orillia is your best bet most of the time. I’m so thrilled he’s coming back to Montreal though! Well you know what? If he’s forgotten he has fans in Alberta, he’ll need to be reminded! :D Are you on Facebook? I’m not, but I’m pretty active on this site. Anyway, if you are on FB, you should remind him. I remind him every chance I get, on blogs, in birthday cards, etc. :D So you’ve read his book? How did you like it and did you learn anything? BTW, we’ve just found out that the audio version of his book is being considered for a Grammy nomination, very cool. Also, did you know that there are 2 foreign versions of his latest CD? The Australian version was released last May and the U.K. version will be released Feb 3rd. If you’d like more details, let me know. All right Ann, I’m sorry, I tend to be long-winded and I don’t know yet how much time you can devote to this site... :D I’ve been here since the beginning of this site so I know my way around. Hi Ann and WELCOME to the website and I do hope you will join us in the forum section we have here which can be found by going to the "Connect" heading on your page and then clicking on "forums" when that appears above and that is where we all come together and discuss everything to do with Michael and below I have given you links into threads that we have where things are pretty active. A hint for right now is when you find something you want to follow you must indicate that fact and what you do is indicate that you wish to follow a category or thread within a category and you will then be notified by e-mail from "Michael Bolton" that either a new thread has been started within the category or, that a new post/comment has been entered in thread, you are following. For categories you will find indication box at foot of first page for each category and for threads it is located under the "reply" box toward top of page in each thread and you must change settings to show "stop following" when you want to follow.
If you have any questions about the website or forum please do not hesitate to come onto my page and I will try to answer as best I can. Should also inform you that Gail Atkinson is the moderator of the website. I should like to make it clear that I am in no way connected to admin, it is only Gail that holds any admin position.
