Michael has a milestone birthday coming up in February 2018. I ran an idea past Gail that passed with approval. I have small cards that are 2.5X3.5. The idea for the card is not to say happy birthday, but you have room to put a few sentences to tell Michael why you love him, his music or how his music helped you in hard times. It’s should be big enough for a wallet size photo if you would like. Then when he’s home sitting at his desk, he can pull 1 or 2 cards to read when he has the time. Our words will be with him all year. 1- request a SASE, and I will send you a card. Write your note and put in your picture. When your finished, mail it back to me. For those out of the country, I checked with my postmaster and she said you can put your own postage on the return envelope equivalent to $1.15 US. Email me, Sally, at MYSCRTPSSN@gmail.com and I can give you an address to send your SASE (self addressed stamped envelope). 2- The second option isn’t as personal, is to email me a short note and I can cut and paste it onto a card for you. I can print your picture if you wish to include one. 3- you can mail me your note and I’ll put it in a card for you. If you have an idea that would work best for you, just send me an email. When all the cards are gathered, I’ll put them in some sort of decorate box. And the box of cards will be Michael’s birthday gift from us. I’d like to get it mailed about the week before his birthday. Your welcome to share my email with anyone you think may be interested in contributing to Michael’s milestone 65! Looking forward to hearing from you, Sally
Hi Marc, I have a quick question unrelated to the forum, if you don't mind. I was searching through old posts I’d saved from the “history “ thread and came across a comment of yours that Florin had transferred from a steel guitar forum. In that comment, you mentioned playing PSG on a song with OB singing and playing rhythm guitar on your 50th bday celebration. I’ve tried searching through your YouTube channel but I’m having trouble finding it. Would you happen to remember what song that was on? I was just curious because I haven’t had many opportunities to hear OB perform, aside from his recent videos. I must say that I had fun searching so far and loved the “Marc Friedland” song your friend wrote for you! :D Well anyway, no rush to respond and no biggie if you can’t remember. Take care Marc and respond if or when you can. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hi again Marc, wow, I wasn’t asking for this much, thank you! :D Frankly, I knew OB was right, but I think this Andrew guy got his info from Tom Pollard on FB. I’m not on Facebook myself but a friend told me. Marc, you have no idea how fascinating this is to me and I’m sitting on my hands not to ask you a million questions! :D I’m just gonna have to be patient and wait for Jeremy’s updates or MB’s bio. Funny how you actually kind of sound like Jeremy when it comes to the technical stuff of which I knew more about... Oh lol, comparing MB to Tom Jones? Lol Interesting comparison... :D You had mentioned before on the “history” thread that you didn’t think any member of Joy ever heard the finished “Cookie man”. I have heard “Going back to New Haven” and loved it: honestly, I think it should have been a hit! What do I know? Well Marc, Andrew hasn’t come back in the thread yet, but this should certainly be enough info to readjust his beliefs and research. Thank you ever so much for your time, very much appreciated, take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada :D
who claims that “Going back to New Haven” was recorded before “Bah bah bah”. Now, I only know what OB told me, which is the opposite, since OB told me a while back that he was asked to sing on GBTNH when he returned from Europe, after “Bah bah bah” was recorded. Could you help us elucidate that mystery? Just checking. BTW, Gail found MB’s bio ready to be pre-ordered from Amazon and there’s an audio version: I can not tell you how ecstatic I am! Anyway, please drop in if you have a chance, thanks! Take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hi Marc, good to hear from you and to know you’re still around! Well, thanks for the good wishes and I wish the same for you and yours, hope 2012 has been good to you so far. :D Oh that’s wonderful news Marc, thanks for letting me know, I really appreciate it! Well, let’s hope his ghost writer will do a half decent job. BTW, I suggested your input because you are a lot of fun to read and it’s always nice to have a different perspective. I’m thinking that Michael is such a perfectionist that he’ll obviously need to read it thoroughly first, especially since this is something that will be known as coming from him. I’m just hoping that corners won’t be cut for the sake of balancing well the period ratio, you know what I mean? You see, I’ve heard bits and pieces from various early articles and interviews, pertaining to the fact that Michael lived a lot and experienced a lot during his early years and I’m sure that if it’s done right, it’ll be a riveting read... I do hope Michael will contemplate recording an audio version, because the reader in my family left home! :D Oh BTW, I’ve been in touch with Jeremy and since I suggested to Gail to put the “history” thread as a featured discussion, he said he reviewed his original document and he’ll at least begin filling the gaps and I guess finish it off when he has more time. Hopefully, the easy access to the thread will drum up interest in his upcoming biography, which Gail told me Michael said was almost finished. Thanks a lot for writing Marc, I truly appreciate it, take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hi Marc, I just wanted to leave you a quick message and realized I’m the only one who’s left messages on your page... Sorry, I don’t mean to pester you... :D Listen, I recently wrote to our friend Jeremy, to ask his opinion about a song, because he’s my “Master Yoda” when it comes to MB’s voice and he apologized again for taking so long to compile the info you’ve shared with him. I understand he’s busy with far more important things, but I have to say it pains me to know this treasure that’s the “history” thread is buried so deep in trivial stuff. Jeremy says he’d have enough info for a book and I wondered if you had ever given a thought to writing one. I know MB is in the process of writing his autobiography, but I’m wondering how much early history he’ll include, to be proportionally balanced in his life story. I’m sure a lot of people would find it fascinating! Well, that was my 2cents: put it in the bank or throw it in a fountain and make a wish, but thanks for your time. Take care Marc and hope to read you again. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hi Marc, I just wanted to take a minute to wish you a happy Thanksgiving. Your name has come up in conversation with OB recently so I thought I’d drop by and say hello. I’ve misplaced my address book after computer problems but hope to write to our friend Jeremy soon and ask if he has time to update the history thread. I was just telling OB that you’re a lot of fun to read so hope we get the opportunity again. Well take care Marc and I wish you happy and safe holidays. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hi Marc, I have a feeling you don’t check your page very often, but thought I’d pop by to extend my New Year’s wishes to you. Hope you’ve had pleasant holidays! I wish you much health, a multitude of daily blessings and special moments with your loved ones throughout the year. I hope we’ll have the privilege to read you on the forum again this year. Take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hi Marc, I just wanted to remind you, if you think about it when you see Michael, to please ask him permission for posting sound samples etc on the “Follow-up info…” forum thread. BTW, please also tell him we’re very proud of him and give him a great big hug from all of us. Hope you’re doing well, we haven’t heard from you in a while. Take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hi Marc, just a quick message to let you know that if you haven’t figured it out yet, it’s possible for you to disable getting E-mail alerts, each time someone responds to a thread you took part in. Just click on “manage my page” and review your settings by checking or unchecking your lists. That way, you can check on the forum when you’re ready, instead of being overwhelmed by E-mail alerts. That’s all for now, take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada P.S.: I’d love to add you as a friend too!

Hi Marc, it’s your friendly forum neighbourhood bug again. :D Listen, if you have a minute, there’s this guy Andrew Carolla, on this thread here:
