Michael has a milestone birthday coming up in February 2018. I ran an idea past Gail that passed with approval. I have small cards that are 2.5X3.5. The idea for the card is not to say happy birthday, but you have room to put a few sentences to tell Michael why you love him, his music or how his music helped you in hard times. It’s should be big enough for a wallet size photo if you would like. Then when he’s home sitting at his desk, he can pull 1 or 2 cards to read when he has the time. Our words will be with him all year. I request a SASE, and I will send you a card. Write your note and put in your picture. When your finished, mail it back to me. You could even send your note on a 2x3 size paper and I’ll attach it to a card. Send your picture to if you like. That would take out the SASE step. For those out of the country, I checked with my postmaster and she said you can put your own postage on the return envelope equivalent to $1.15 US. Email me, Sally, at MYSCRTPSSN@gmail.com and I can give you an address to send your SASE (self addressed stamped envelope). A second option that isn’t as personal, is to email me a short note and I can cut and paste it onto a card for you. I don’t want to handle pictures this way because I’m not that computer literate and don’t want to make errors with something as personal as a picture. Just let me know the option that works best for you. When all the cards are gathered, I’ll put them in some sort of decorate box. And the box of cards will be Michael’s birthday gift from us. It might seem early, but it’s something that we can work on Now through January. I’d like to be finished by February since I would need to get a box and mail it off to Michael. Your welcome to share my email with anyone you think may be interested in contributing to Michael’s milestone 65! Looking forward to hearing from you, Sally
I’ll let you know if more show up, as i’m keeping everything crossed for the Montreal date to be rescheduled. Take care sweetie. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie QC Canada :D
Hi Amber, long time no see! I’ve been quite swamped with trying to keep up with the forum lately because I’m not getting all the E-mail notices from the forum that I should be getting. Anyway, just wanted to say hi and I had been thinking of you recently because I’ve heard a voice you might enjoy on “American Idol”. I don’t know if you watch the show, but there’s this 16 year old kid who sounds like a veteran country singer and I think he should definitely be on the radio! His name is Scott McCreery, listen to this guy:
I’m very selective in my country music appreciation but I love this kid! Incidentaly, speaking of country music, have you heard of Michael’s upcoming collaboration with Rascal Flats? It’s been posted on Facebook and some articles have been posted about it on this forum thread:
It sounds like Michael’s new album “Gems” will be very interesting and we’ve heard he’s really excited about it. A friend of mine who’s met him in Portugal reported that Michael said that this next album will be the most well-produced album since “Time love and tenderness”! It’s scheduled for a June release. Well, hope you’ve been well Amber. Lots of things moving on my side: a daughter moving overseas for a year and the other one got married. My boys are moving around in the house too so I’m not bored! :D Take care sweetie and respond when you can. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hi Amber, good to hear from you! Oh I'm sorry to hear you've been sick but sounds like you're better so I'm glad. Well, I had all my kids with me at Xmas so that was really nice and got to see my sister on New Year's day so that was fun. Got some cool presents too: a USB turntable to transfer my records on mp3 as soon as I can figure out how, lol and the 1st season of a show I used to watch as a teen. Man I feel old! lol Well Amber, when you finish the year sick, things can only get better! Have you made any New Year resolutions? Mine is to not make any... :D Take care sweetie, talk to you soon. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hi Amber, sorry I haven’t responded sooner. As Gail posted on my page, I’ve been off-line for a couple of days and trying to catch up. I’m doing okay, but pretty busy. Thanks for asking Amber, hope you’re doing well too. Michael is not sick again, he’s still sick. Well, by now, he’s recovering from bronchitis and has already done 2 Xmas shows: the charity José Carreras leukemia event :
As far as I know, Michael should be heading home until the 29th. Been cleaning up the house and listening to a lot of Xmas music! Yes, I do have a new friend from Scotland and she’s a lot of fun! The message you got in your in-box is a PM or Personal message Amber and can be found in your forum in-box. In the E-mail you got, there should have been a link to where you could respond. Since I can’t send a handwritten card to everyone, I felt this was the next best thing. My guess is that the messages you got were my friends responding to “all my friends” so that included you too. Hope you can find your in-box but if you can’t, ask Gail and she should be able to help. I access mine through a roundabout way because I’ve never found it on my page… Well glad you’ve enjoyed my message sweetie. Hope you’re doing well, let me know what’s happening in your neck of the woods. Have you had as much snow as they’ve had on the highways in Ontario? Was that unreal or what? Well, hope you’re staying warm and cozy and hope you have a great Xmas sweetie! Take care and we’ll talk soon. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hi Amber, how are you? Well, I hope. Oh good Lord, lol that’s okay sweetie about the pictures, I did not take offense what soever… :D Do you have CMT in your neck of the woods Amber? Maybe the show you’re looking for was on there? Oh, BTW, I looked up “Lady Antebellum Xmas” on Youtube and didn’t come up with much, but looking on Amazon, I found this that might interest you: http://www.amazon.ca/Thats-What-Call-Country-
Oh I understand being upset over something you wanted to see didn’t play. Earlier this year, they were supposed to play Michael’s RAH show on PBS and from fans reports, it only played on a handful of cities U.S.-wide, isn’t that stupid? Well anyway, I have a lot of messages to catch up on because I wasn’t here yesterday so I’m off. Let me know what you think of the link I’ve just posted. Sounds to me like it’s right up your alley! Take care sweetie and have a great week. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hi Amber, I think I just heard a Lady Antebellum Xmas song on the radio and I liked it! They didn't say it was Lady Antebellum or even give a title but it sounded like them... As far as wanting to see pictures of my house decorated, so would I! lol Have a great weekend Amber. Take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hi Amber, how are you? Well, I hope. Glad you enjoyed the Grammy nominees show. I really like the song “Need you now” from Lady Antebellum, they have nice voices. I guess you say they’re “your” people, because no one else you know enjoys them as much as you do? Yes, Michael had to cancel the Brighton show and the weather is really horrid right now in the U.K. They have lots of snow and they’re not equipped for it, so even if Michael can make it to the Sheffield gig, a lot of people will be disappointed. At least, the Brighton show is supposed to be rescheduled and people can be refunded. I’m starting my Xmas decorating today, with my youngest son, will probably finish tomorrow. Then Sunday, I’m off to the opera gala, can’t wait! You have yourself a great weekend Amber and go mail those cards! Take care and keep warm. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hi Amber, I did watch the Grammy nominees show last night and quite enjoyed it. Well, not everything, but at least Bruno mars and B.O.B's performances. A few artists and songs I enjoy were nominated too including Gaga, although there was one notable omission... :D I'm thinking if people didn't nominate Michael for OWOL, it's because they haven't heard it! :D Take care Amber and have a great day. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Ah Amber, thanks for sharing. I’m sure the pictures are adorable and I remember taking so so so many pictures of my first baby with tons of adorable grown-up poses, but Lord have mercy, let the poor child be a baby! They just grow up too fast… I have 4 kids and my baby is 13. :D Take good care of yourself Amber. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
