It would have been Etta’s 74^th birthday today. I was really glad to hear that she was being rediscovered by the new generation thanks to artists sampling her on contemporary music. Her legacy lives on with the artists she inspired and in timeless songs like “At last”, “I’d rather go blind” and my ultimate favourite: “I just want to  make love to you”, which I think is the definitive version, although I do enjoy Muddy Waters’ version:

Thanks for sharing the video and lovely to hear Michael taking the time out to respond to the news of Etta's death and we can only be thankful that we have the legacy of her voice and pray that, wherever she is, she finds the peace from all that plagued her on this earth.
