Wow, I can't find the words to describe how your "Fathers and Daughters" made me feel! What a beautiful song Michael. Truly beautiful! I am so lucky to have such a great relationship with my wonderful dear Dad. He's a little forgetful now, you know, age and all that, but he is the best. I don't know how you can record a song like that without shedding a tear or two. Then I listened to "Close to You" and that really is a wonderful rendition. Then I noticed Richard Clayderman is the pianist. How I idolised him and, OK, his piano skills. I managed to master a number of his songs over the years. You know, I saw him perform at the Sydney Opera House all those years ago and many years later I saw you perform there too. What a treat to have my favorite singer and pianist together on the same song! You surprised me that time in Sydney when my favorite saxophonist was on stage with you too! Talk about combining talents! Incredible! Do you have any more magic up your sleeve? I'm sure you do and I so look forward to your new album. Great job Michael, thank you.

Thank you Maestro for "Fathers and Daughters." It touched me so deeply. I remembert the last time I saw my Dad before he underwent his heart surgery. He was so overcome with joy and he was in tears of joy. He kept repeating, "My good daughter is here" over and over. I didn't know it would be the last time I'd see him alive. Daddy was my Hero and when he pased, a litle part of me went with him. Not long after, Easter fel on his birthday - April 3rd and I went to Church. I walked to the front pews where a tal man sat, head in hand like Rodin's "The Thinker." We used to tease Dady about that because he often took that pose. I didn't look at him but began to pray. It wasn't until the handshake of peace when I turned to face the man seated beside me. It was my Father! He looked robust and rosy=cheeked and his brown eyes sparkled. He grasped my hand and we both said aloud, "Christ's peace be with you."  We smiled in recognition when the Priest snaped us back to "reality" with the final blessing. I couldn't wait for the Mas to be over so I could speak to him but he vanished. All 6.2" of him was gone in an instant - vanished like a ghost. I thank God for that "father and daughter reunion" and for the great gift that was my biologica  father. It isn't until we have children of ourown that we can begin to understand the sacrifices our own parents made for us.Thank you also for tis trip down memory lane.the song realy evoked some beautiful memories.

I love MB's version of They Want to Be Close to You! I always remember Karen Carpenter's version, but wow, now I really like MB's version too.

Just downloaded both songs. Way to go MB. I'm a daddy's girl myself so they both made tears come to my eyes.

It is the most beautiful song I've heard in a long while..... touches the soul.  Close To You is beautiful as well and listening to it could hear Karen loud and clear ....Michael, you should duet with her.
