The pond behind our house is still frozen! Meanwhile I'm heading into 80 degree weather in LA!

WOW!  what a big pond!  We'd call that a river in the UK!

Oh, how pretty is that? You guys have had some cold weather down there! I live in Calgary and yet I still like it when it snows and then you have those beautiful blue skies. Slush, I don't enjoy but I guess it is the ying and the yang of life! Heading to LA? I used to live in Sydney Australia and am glad I don't have to put up with heat and humidity anymore. Let the cold weather preserve me longer I say ;)

Hmm, Connecticut in minus temperatures, LA at 80 degrees, tough choice....not!  I'd take the sun anytime.

Reminds me of a postcard.  You are so fortunate live in such a beautiful setting.  Have fun golfing!

What a beautiful picture ! Although looks very cold ' I really don't blame you for ditching the cold for LA weather ! I would too if I could ! My boiler is broken & it's freezing ! But i always feel lucky & grateful for everything I have got , because my heart goes out to those poor souls in SYRIA who have fled & have nothing but tents in freezing conditions ! I would love to keep them all warm & look after them . Xx

BTW, that looks like my friends' old house in the background!  We liked to check out the cygnets every spring, but they moved off the pond to another house nearby. . . I always looked forward to seeing the cygnets, and think of the swan families every time I see the pond.  votre Amie

Hope Taryn got to see you yesterday before you took off.  The river is mostly thawed, and the pond appears to be thawing a bit today.  Perhaps it will all melt by the time you get home.  Meanwhile, at least you can go play golf without the gators!  Cheers, votre Amie
