Press Release from February 28

17 - 28 APRIL 2012

Michael Bolton turns up the volts on his Symphony Orchestras tour in April, with the announcement that Orianthi, the blistering, international guitarist originally from Adelaide, will join his band as Special Guest on all Australian dates.

The Grammy legend's latest album of duets,

Gems, features the young axe wielding Goddess on the track, Steel Bars, (a mega-hit co-written with Bob Dylan) and he is delighted that Orianthi has accepted his invitation.

Michael says

"One of the cool things about working with Orianthi, is you realise that this is the next generation of artistry."

Orianthi was thrust into the global spotlight as Michael Jackson's guitarist in the 2009 documentary

This Is It, has also shared the stage with Carlos Santana and Steve Vai and performed with Carrie Underwood at the Grammy Awards.

Michael Bolton, the Soul Provider of signature power ballads, classic hits and beautiful arias is touring throughout April, performing with our orchestras in Perth, Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne, then Hobart with his band. Tour details below.

Wow, a concert in Adelaide, no less!  I may just have to take a few days off work and cross the ditch for this one.  Was listening to MB's version of 'Georgia on my mind' on my I Pod today - I'm going to be singing that song with my 16 yr old son accompanying me on piano, for a fundraising concert in about 6 weeks time, and if I can sing it even a tenth as good as MB, I'll be very very happy.  Of course I'll never get that beautiful counter tenor/falsetto at the end of each phrase.  What a genius this man is in front of a mic!

Hey Michael, I do hope your Australian fans give you as warm a welcome as they did the last time you visited and that you get bitten by the symphonic bug again! Just in case you feel like extending a symphonic tour this way: we have a brand new concert hall “La Maison Symphonique” here in Montreal. :D However, any concert of yours would be welcome: symphonic, acoustic, acapella: you name it! :D God bless you and have a wonderful time in Australia Michael, take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Qc Canada
