My Hero

My Hero of 2012 is Malala Yousafzai the Pakistani girl who was shot by the Taliban for expressing her passion for education and her position on behalf of the rights of all women. Courage, inspiration, Malala my hero. MB

I thank you for coming out and saying Malala is your hero as she was mine for 2012 but as long as her spirit remains for her fight for the rights of women and the right of freedom for education in Pakistan, she will remain my HERO and she will have my full support for as long as her fight goes on and I am able to give it to her. I believe for the coming next few years she will concentrate on her own education and on getting back to full health but I believe also, as her father has said, she will "rise again" !!

For a little update, for those who do not know, Malala is still in the UK and in fact will remain here for at least the next three years for her father has been given a diplomatic job as Pakistan Education Attache at the Consulate in Birmingham where Malala was flown for treatment and the wonderful news that is just breaking is that Malala has been discharged from hospital.....what a wonderful start to 2013 !! :)

Thank you again Michael for acknowledging Malala and for your continued support in what this world needs and deserves.....equality, compassion and tolerance !!
