Mandela!!! Wisdom, Strength, Compassion and Grace.
Celebrating and honoring Nelson Mandela's life requires that we continue his commitment, his example of activism, the need to stand up and fight for civil rights, freedom and equality for all human beings.
We cannot speak of Gandhi or Reverend King without also acknowledging Nelson Mandela who devoted his life to being a true champion of the human spirit. MB

This is the first artist's group I have ever joined. The fact that Michael's voice is unmistakably MB (I have so enjoyed his Christmas ads) and the fact that he is one of just a few of my favorite singers is of secondary concern to me. Of utmost importance to me is the fact that Michael CARES about the world and uses his status to promote causes that impact the quality of life of so many people. Michael's concerns run the gamut from civil rights to cancer. I listen to Michael's music with an appreciation for who the man is...and that makes all the difference to me.

RIP Madiba.

I couldn't agree more with your comments. I was very fortunate while I lived in Kenya to have had the opportunity to fly to S.Africa and hear this amazing man speak.  Yes it was risky to fly and be there but I had no fear and his words touched my inner soul and to this day shapes my beliefs and deserve for peace and equality of people not only in Africa but also in Ireland where I come from and world wide.. I think that all of us need to take a leap of faith and shed ourselves of the skin of fear and bigitry!  Liz O'Brien

Madiba, your quote "What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived.  It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead".  You are a tribesman, a statesman and a world leader - we have much to learn from you, the challenge will be to continue the work you have begun.  Lx

Thank you Michael for your gracious words and remembrance.

A great loss indeed however no more suffering. There will never be another leader/father/friend to compare.

May his legacy live on in each of us.

RIP Madiba.

Must say surprised and slightly disgusted that South Africa didn't make today a public holiday and having to see so many leave the stadium to go to work.   Really want to say, on here, and do on here, is applaud loudly Barak Obama's speech.....outstanding !!!!! :)
