Barbara: looks like the pic was taken at the Maestro's "Italiate" home in Connecticut.  Ages ago there was a spread of him at his home in one of the magazines.  The pix might still be on line.  It's beautiful!

Nice they are in Europa.

Italy is wonderful. Nice pic:) How does it last with an excursion to the Salzburg-festival?

Wishes still a nice summer....

Hey MB, it looks like you already are in beautiful Italia. Nice landscaping at your place though! Nice photo, definitely a self portrait. What a happy smiling man you are. Great to see. Senza fine... Senza fine... hope you get to record this one day...

You just happen to be heading for the DeSole family stomping grounds: Baria - my maternal grandfather, Joseph, was born there and his wife, Theresa was born in Naples.  In fact, I think the DeSole lemon orchards are still in Baria.  Ah, what a love story they had.  He was studying to be a priest until he met Grandma!  He followed her to America and they married and had 22 children (several sets of twins) only 8 of whom survived and only one, the baby Theresa, is still alive.  It was my beloved Grandma who on her deathbed asked me "Are you happy?" Those words set me off on my quest for true love many, many years ago.  Veni, vedi, vicci (I came, I saw, I conquered")  Have fun and say "ciao" to my relatives there please.  ; )  I know that they love music and I know they'll love you as I do!  Buono fortuna!

Hi Michael,

My first time logging on to your site. Glad that you got to get some R&R. You were in the Tpa Bay area a few months ago, didn't get to see you. Working Chick = no $$.  Anyway, Enjoy Italy. Peace & Blessing.
