Hi everyone, this blog will be an attempt to keep my friends and other site lurkers updated on what’s been going on in our little MB world. I only want to write about newsworthy items relevant to his career and life when it’s appropriate. The main reason I’m doing it is to stop repeating myself and stop having to search for previous posts. Since I’m on the site on a regular basis, I thought it would be helpful. :D Take care and hugs to all, sincerely, Sylvie :D

Hi everyone, with the site being tempermental, I have a bit of catching up to do with updates. Well first, here’s a news item Sylvia shared on October 3:

“Michael has posted a tweet plus a comment with pic on his FB page in connection with October being Domestic Violence Awareness Month and here is comment from FB

"October marks domestic violence awareness month. Being a father of three daughters gives me great empathy for the safety of women and children. 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men will be a victim of domestic violence in their lifetime, and more than 3 million children witness domestic violence at home every year. Men, including fathers and sons, must be part of the solution. I started my own foundation The Michael Bolton Charities, Inc. to further this mission and I challenge all men to join me in taking Safe Horizon’s #PutTheNailinIt vow.

Please take the vow:

http://www.putthenailinit.org

"

Sylvia describes the added picture as follows: left side being the “Put The Nail In It” picture  where he has his ring finger on left hand varnished purple  and right side his statement which reads :  "Fathers and men must be part of the solution.  I challenge all men to join me in taking Safe Horizon's #PutTheNailInIt vow to end domestic violence.  Michael Bolton.  Grammy Award Winning Singer"  and it ends with  #PutTheNailInIt written once again and then "Take the vow to end domestic violence.”

I don’t think I have enough room in this post, so I’ll add an article in the next one. Be right back. Sylvie :D

Stars Align in Winnipeg at David Foster Foundation Miracle Gala and Concert

WINNIPEG — MTS Centre was alive with glitter and glamour Saturday night as Winnipeggers and celebrities came together to raise funds and bring awareness to the importance of organ donation.

The gala event, inspired by Canadian musician and producer David Foster and the foundation he created in 1988, has been held in major cities throughout Canada. This is the first time it has taken place in Winnipeg.

Money raised at the event goes towards non-medical expenses for those who have children in need of a major organ transplant.

The star-studded evening included a red carpet (that was actually purple, which is the official colour of the foundation). Celebrities who made their way along to speak to and pose for the paparazzi before moving on to ice level for dinner included musicians Carly Rae Jepsen, Seal, The Tenors, Michael Bolton and actor/comedian Sinbad.

A concert featuring several of the performing artists in attendance was also part of the event.

Grammy Award-winning singer Bolton, who has been involved with past galas, said he is thrilled to be a part of Foster’s dream to raise $30 million by 2017. The popular musician told ChrisD.ca, “It’s an amazing organization to be a part of and I hope we raise more money than we did ($6.5 million) in Toronto last year. Organ donation is life-altering and life-saving.”

According to the Canadian Transplant Society, 90 per cent of Canadians support organ donation, but less than 20 per cent are registered as actual donors. The number of donors in Manitoba is even lower. Foster said only one to two percent of the population have signed up to be donors.

“This whole organ donor situation is a fixable problem,” he said. “If 100 per cent of people in the country were organ donors, no one would be waiting for an organ.”

Winnipeg Mayor Brian Bowman, who attended the event with wife Tracy, said he’s had an active organ donor card since getting his drivers’ licence as a teen. He has since signed up to be a donor online through signupforlife.ca.

“I want to be able to prove that as a lawyer and a politician, that I have a heart,” he quipped.

Hi everyone, Sylvia posted earlier today about the new trend on Twitter, originating from James Corden, who did a skit on his “Late late show”, which is a take on Michael and Kenny G’s performance on the Grammies in 1990. She entitled it “Ode to Michael Bolton and Kenny G w/ Danny McBride”, but posted only the embed code. Now Michael retweeted James as follows:

“Michael Bolton ‏@mbsings  1h1 hour ago

 @JKCorden @latelateshow not bad for the #Grammys ! But can u take it to a #CarpoolKaraoke ?? “

The CarpoolKaraoke is a feature on James Corden’s show, often featured on YouTube. That’s the news for now, thanks for reading, sincerely, Sylvie :)

Hi everyone, Sylvia just posted that Michael has a new American Greetings E card, with the traditional “Happy birthday” song, with the personalized feature as before:

You need at least Internet Explorer 11 to listen: enjoy!  By the way, I’ve just checked and it seems I missed reporting on an important item for Canadian fans and I apologize for that. Last month, my husband found Michael’s “American Greetings” paper card at our local Wallmart, which means it’s finally available in Canada! Well, I hope it’s available throughout Canada, but I know for a fact that it’s available in the province of Quebec, so check it out! That’s the news for now, thanks for reading, sincerely, Sylvie :D

Hi everyone, I have a couple of items of interest today. First, a couple of similar articles on the latest MBC charity event:

Michael Bolton Charities Raises Funds in Hamptons at “An Evening Under the Stars” | Times Square Chronicles

Michael Bolton Charities Raises Funds in Hamptons at “An Evening Under the Stars”

This weekend in beautiful Bridgehampton hundreds gathered to benefit an amazing cause for those in need. At a private estate the Grammy-award winning singer and social activist hosted “An Evening Under the Stars” to raise funds for The Michael Bolton Charities.

Guests came together on a gorgeous, breezy night for an intimate dinner produced by Lawrence Scott Events, an auction and an electric performance by the generous host.

“I think we have to be accustomed to live in a changing world, and at the same time to still do the things that we believe in,” said Bolton about the importance of the charity in our modern world. “We cannot be shaken or intimidated from doing work we think is important.”

The Charities honored Joe and Ali Torre, founders of the Joe Torre Safe At Home Foundation, with The Michael Bolton Lifetime Achievement Award. The pair was applauded for their heartfelt work to end domestic abuse.

Sponsors included JBialsky Design and Development, Lawrence Scott Events, Hamptons Magazine, Sabrina & Jahn Levin, Sammi & Scott Seltzer, Bespoke Real Estate, John and Lenora Klein, Lori Shabtai, Gale Sitomer, Susan and Sebastian Beck Almrud, Creative Design Landscaping, Inspirato, La Croix, John and Elizabeth Papadopolous, and Linda and Larry Weiss.

Founded in 1993, the Mission of The Michael Bolton Charities, Inc. is dedicated to two critical areas:  (1) The assistance of children and women “at risk;” and, (2) Through education and effective programs, create social awareness to broaden horizons and expand opportunities for youth across socioeconomic and multicultural lines.  Through the years, our mission has remained clear: We continue to make funds available to organizations providing direct services to those in need as we search for solutions to the issues that put children and women at risk.  We work towards fostering dynamic social change – to break the cycle of domestic violence, poverty, abuse and homelessness through innovative initiatives.

From day one, with Michael Bolton’s active involvement and committed leadership, the focus of The MBC has been on issues which adversely affect children and women at risk.  These issues include domestic and street violence, poverty, abuse, neglect, AIDS and homelessness.  It began in 1993 with a handful of volunteers building a playground in a dangerous drug-infested New Haven neighborhood, providing children a safe place to play outdoors – beyond the sanctuary of the local church basement.

Over $10 million has been raised from contributions and net income from special events, benefiting more than 100 organizations in cities across the country – highly regarded and accredited agencies providing direct services to children and women at risk. Collaborations on innovative solutions, programs and projects that provide critically needed services are responding to immense challenges and compelling needs, making a difference in individual lives and the life of communities across our country.  Without our support, many of these services simply might not exist.

The major focus of The MBC is in the area of violence against women.  Michael joined forces with coalitions of women’s groups and members of Congress to pass the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA).  Michael, personally, has continued to devote his time to draw attention to the domestic violence epidemic and to enlist other men to raise their voices for zero tolerance on the issue.  He has directed his foundation to do whatever possible to secure continued and additional funding to keep our shelters open, our educational programs functioning, and our children and women safe.

Innovation has always been a major driving force of The MBC and in that vein, The Charities launched in the Fall of 2015 a one of a kind music therapy program.  This music therapy program is specifically designed to focus on children exposed to domestic violence and also will be used as a music therapy program in a domestic violence confidential shelter.  No such models exist anywhere in our country and there is every indication these programs will meet with major success.

Saturday night, the Michael Bolton Charities Fundraiser, ‘An Evening Under the Stars’ honored Ali and Joe Torre at a Private Estate in Bridgehampton.

The charitable evening of dinner, drinks, and a private performance by Michael Bolton himself, was all in honor of women and children as victims of domestic violence everywhere.  Guests included Bill O’Reilly, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Heather Childers, and lookin’ for love Real Housewives’ Ramona Singer.

Now in its 23rd year, The Michael Bolton Charities has benefitted more than 100 organizations across the country and for this event, The Retreat in Easthampton will be the local recipient of a portion of the monetary donations.  The Retreat has been providing domestic violence and sexual assault services and education to families, friends, and neighbors on the East End of Long Island since 1987 and perfectly complements MBC as a partner.

Next item is something Sylvia spotted on Twitter:

“Michael has retweeted a tweet from Passion 8 Media which says "Gotta Keep Dreamin" coming soon.  I checked Passion 8's account and there is also a tweet which mentions "Songs of Cinema" as coming soon.

The Passion 8 Twitter account was just started end July.  Here is tweet he retweeted

In our experience, the media’s definition of “soon” is a little fuzzy, but let’s hope this means we’ll hear more in the coming weeks. That’s the news for now, thanks for reading, sincerely, Sylvie :D
