Hi everyone, this blog will be an attempt to keep my friends and other site lurkers updated on what’s been going on in our little MB world. I only want to write about newsworthy items relevant to his career and life when it’s appropriate. The main reason I’m doing it is to stop repeating myself and stop having to search for previous posts. Since I’m on the site on a regular basis, I thought it would be helpful. :D Take care and hugs to all, sincerely, Sylvie :D

Hi everyone, well it's a slow news day, but here's a cute article Gail shared:

The Sun, A News UK Company

LUCK OF THE DRAW

The Chase contestant is eliminated from the game but still bags her dream prize… and she may look familiar to eagle-eyed viewers

Contestant Christine, 29, took to the show with a very specific idea on how she'd spend any prize money won

ONE of tonight’s contestants on The Chase may have looked familiar to viewers.

Contestant Christine, 29, took to the show with a very specific idea on how she’d spend any prize money won.

ITV

Christine told Bradley that she was a big fan of Michael Bolton and that she would love to have lunch with him

The pretty blonde, from County Down, told host Bradley Walsh: “I like a bit of crosswords and quizzing and Michael Bolton – a big love of mine.

“I’ve seen him live twice and touched his hand both times.

“You can pay to have lunch with him in LA.”

She went on to explain that this said lunch would cost around £4,000 as well as the outlay of making the trip to Los Angeles.

It seemed to be going well for Christine and she managed to rack up the all-important £4,000 during her cash builder.

However, Paul “The Sinnerman” Sinha managed to beat the hopeful after a difficult round, but thankfully the Michael Bolton super-fan wasn’t out of luck.

During Bradley Walsh’s stint of hosting The Nightly Show he had Michael Bolton on as a guest – and this is where eagle-eyed viewers may have recognised Christine from.

An ecstatic Christine took to the April 3 episode of the The Nightly Show where she was welcomed up onto the stage for a candlelit meal with Michael himself.

Mega-fan Christine meets her idol Michael Bolton on The Nightly Show

Not bad going, eh?

The overjoyed contestant was even serenaded by none other than The Chase's Vixen as she sat with her idol.

ITV  3

Christine got to dine with Michael Bolton when Bradley Walsh hosted The Nightly Show - and The Vixen serenaded them both

The Vixen sang Michael's 1983 hit How Am I Supposed To Live Without You as she played the ukulele to the tune.

Unluckily for Christine's team mates on The Chase, they didn’t fare quite so well - they were caught in the final and went home with nothing.

The Chase is on weekdays at 5pm on ITV.

Hi everyone, thanks to a collective effort by Katia, Sylvia and Brigitte G, I have a mess of goodies for you! Well first, an article/interview from BLD Germany

http://www.bild.de/regional/hamburg/hamburg-leute/michael-bolton-fl...

Here’s the translation provided by Brigitte:

“Michael Bolton still fly the bras

13.04.2017 - 00:00 hours

St. Pauli - The long mane he has now deposited. The soft cuddle voice is still the same.

Worldstar Michael Bolton (64, "When a Man Loves a Woman") was Wednesday on a short visit to the rainy Hamburg. Reason: In the "Hard Rock Cafe" at the landing bridges he introduced his new record "Songs of Cinema".

And with the same charm as at his most successful times in the 90s.

A HEART BREAKER AT THE PORT.

Are there still bras flying to the stage? "Oh, yes, and also completely different things," he says laughing in the BILD interview. "But finally I'm single - that's okay. Women inspire me and my music. And love is the most important thing in the universe anyway. "

The singer speaks very quietly, drinks one coffee after another. "Sorry, is my breakfast. My days usually go until 4 in the morning, "says Bolton. For this he does not need so long in the bath with his short haircut.

"Since I was twelve, I've been carrying them for a long time. The change was hard - at that time I was at the same hairdresser as Brad Pitt. That should give me a good feeling. "

Time for sightseeing at the harbor did not stop. But: "Hamburg was one of the first cities where I played in Germany," the singer said. "My curiosity has already carried me in so many directions."

And certainly to the north again.”

Now here’s a link to an article from Düsseldorf and Brigitte’s translation:

“Popstar Michael Bolton at the Stippvisite in Düsseldorf

By Elisabeth Schott

With hits on love and heartache, he was world famous. On Tuesday the 64-year-old introduced his new album.

At the Radisson Blu Hotel in Golzheim, the American gave an interview on "Songs Of Cinema", great future plans and Helene Fischer.

Dusseldorf, Germany. With a latte macchiato in his hand, he poses casually for the photographers. His curving curls of the past are cut short, his smile makes him look twenty years younger. Michael Bolton is currently traveling across Europe to promote his 27th studio album. Yesterday he was in Düsseldorf.

"Songs of Cinema" is a declaration of love to famous film music. Bolton covert Evergreens like "Stand By Me" from the eponymous adventure film or the famous "As Time Goes By" from "Casablanca". "I Will Always Love You" he sings in a duet with Dolly Parton, who wrote the song in 1973. In addition, the album features a new version of his greatest hit, "When a Man Loves a Woman", which for 18 weeks was ranked first in the US charts. Bolton hopes that his interpretations of the classics are well received by fans. "I want to inspire people, with songs we all love," he says.

Bolton has traveled all over the world for concerts. In Germany, he is particularly fond of: "It is a diverse country with beautiful, interesting cities." He has often been to Germany, playing in Düsseldorf's Philippshalle several times.

Friendly with Schlagerstar Helene Fischer

In 2011 he joined Helene Fischer in her show, since then the two are friends. "She works hard and has a phenomenal voice. Their success does not surprise me ", praises the world star the hit singer. He himself had his first hit with 34, he makes music since he was 16. Bolton becomes emotional when he tells him that a young street musician with long hair remembered his own beginnings 40 years ago: "All I wanted at the time was to make music. It took 18 years to achieve success. Today, I'm glad I did not give up. "Bolton sold 65 million records in his career. He has already won two Grammy, six American Music Awards and has his own star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood.

At the end of 2017 he will also play concerts in Germany, the data will be announced. Of course he will also play songs from "Songs of Cinema". "I look forward to this shared experience. It will be emotional, "promises Bolton. In addition, the musician is also involved in four TV productions, for the streaming service Netflix is planned its own comedieserie. Quitting is not an issue for him: "The older you get, the harder you have to work."

In addition to his voice, this life setting is probably one reason why he has been one of the most successful pop musicians in America for two decades.”

Hi everyone, Sylvia just posted this link to an article/interview Michael did in Germany with RP Online Dusseldorf yesterday:

http://www.rp-online.de/nrw/staedte/duesseldorf/stadtgespraech/der-...

She kindly posted the translation to the German article:

Düsseldorf. In the comedy series "two and a half men" there's this episode, in which main character Walden of his girlfriend makes a marriage proposal and superstar hired Michael Bolton for the background music. He smashes the lovers game and repeated his version of "When a man loves a woman" - only a few lines, because the application is completely wrong, the singer is stopped abruptly. The scene is really funny, and she shows a different side of the two-time Grammy winner: he takes himself on the grain, is funny and ironic, and he is also yesterday, as he sits with a handful of journalists in Golzheim hotel rooms. A waitress sees that Boltons latte is almost empty (first he has by the way out fished the biscuit in the foam pushed, and eaten), and asks if everything is alright is. Bolton says no, seriously – the woman froze. He points to the TV, where in the news the passenger reported, who was dragged from a plane: "That, that is absolutely wrong." Then he smiles, until the woman panting.

Bolton is also a little tired, he spent the morning in the Middle ZDF Studio, with the programme "Volle Kanne". Someone who is of course he saw nothing therefore of Düsseldorf, the question, he can not remember also to have sung here: he counts "Berlin, Cologne, Hamburg, Munich, Frankfurt...", and when he eventually arrives at Stuttgart, you can see a the appearance just was one of thousands. He was indeed quite times there in December 2010 in the former Philips Hall. In the luggage he had hits such as "How am I supposed to live without you" and his version of "somebody To love". The classics so that the image be as, Yes, cuddly singer; characterized as sustainable for which his fans flock still in his concerts. The star knows this, and so his new CD "Songs of Cinema" is one on which he interprets classic, this time from films again. "At some point in a concert comes the moment in which I have to say: now, a song from my new album", he says. "Since it helps if it's a song, the fans already love - then they must find my interpretation still good." He has the pieces such as "Stand by Me" or "old time rock carefully selected 'because when they arrive, I will you sing often, since I should like them'." His hits but never would he boring claims the singer, who has sold more than 50 million albums, and it is believed him given the enthusiasm with which he talks about his love of music. "I wanted to succeed of course, but I mainly wanted it to continue to do what I'm doing." He remembers a meeting a few days ago with a long-haired street musician in Berlin. Whose voice he liked and had remained standing, he says schnipst with the finger, "and it returned me immediately many years." Suddenly the 64 tells of the days as a young (and langhaariger!) Singer in California, where he earned the money for lunch with street music, "and sometimes we needed something extra for gasoline." He talks about heart and passion and the joy of success. By necessity, his talent to work hard, not to rest, his motto: "The biggest enemy is good from great.". And the PR work: to be known in Norway he gave once 18 interviews in one day, he says, plays a scare from half-asleep, you will feel guilty shortly, but Bolton smiles.

According to Helene Fischer asked as he is ("great voice"). And when it comes to his new projects, in which he again will be in front of the camera. His great satirical special Valentine's day at the streaming service Netflix, where he took his schmaltz image on the grain (and still much sang), should be not the last. "My daughter wrote me, it's the wacky off that I would have ever done. "And she loved it." Nicole Lange
