Hi everyone, this blog will be an attempt to keep my friends and other site lurkers updated on what’s been going on in our little MB world. I only want to write about newsworthy items relevant to his career and life when it’s appropriate. The main reason I’m doing it is to stop repeating myself and stop having to search for previous posts. Since I’m on the site on a regular basis, I thought it would be helpful. :D Take care and hugs to all, sincerely, Sylvie :D

Hi everyone, Brigitte was kind enough to post about this Michael TV appearance in Germany:
"
TV-Station ZDF / Breakfast-TV - 'Volle Kanne' / 9.00am - 10.30am
Michael will be there on Tuesday morning

With his four-octave voice Michael Bolton had been one of the top stars of the US singing wars since the end of the eighties. His songs like "How Am I Supposed to Live Without You" and "Said I Loved You ... But I Lied" also captured the charts. Bolton was also successful as a songwriter for world stars like Barbra Streisand, KISS or Cher, and performed with Plácido Domingo, BB King and Ray Charles. Beside his distinctive voice belonged to his trademark in the nineties. The mane is long gone, the grandiose voice has remained. In his current album "Songs of Cinema" he has reinterpreted classics."
That's the news for now, thanks for reading, sincerely, Sylvie :D

Hi again everyone, now here's one, shared by Katia, that was posted on April 1, about a charity event Michael took part in and was apparently a surprise guest:

With a goal to cover the $2.2 million operating costs for a single day at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital®, the Coachella Valley-based board of directors did that and more - raising a record $2,227,000 at their recent 7th Annual Warburton Celebrity Golf Tournament. .
This Palm Desert event continues to be St. Jude's top-grossing golf tournament fundraiser in the United States and welcomed more than 75 stars, songwriters and rock legends for a weekend of golf and one-of-a-kind music events.
The weekend kicked off with Songwriters Night. St. Jude patient, Emily, and her sister, Callie, began the evening with a song Callie wrote when her sister was diagnosed with an aggressive and rare subtype of leukemia last April - which devastated the teenager and her family. The song was about the storm they were about to weather together. St. Jude had a new clinical trial for Emily's disease, and by May, she was in remission after only a month of chemotherapy. After singing their original song, the sisters asked the audience to join them in "You Are My Sunshine" - then the inspirational "Fight Song," which brought everyone to their feet for a standing ovation.

STARS, SONGS & WRITERS
Patrick Warburton thanked the girls for sharing their story and music, then welcomed guests to the 7th annual tournament. Robin Meade, host of HLN's "Morning Express," took the stage with her magnetic energy providing entertaining introductions to this year's featured songwriters - Deric Ruttan, Kelley Lovelace, Tim Nichols and David Lee Murphy.
Deric started with his Grammy-nominated hit, "Mine Would Be You" recorded by Blake Shelton -quipping that when a song is referred to as "Grammy-nominated," what it really means is it's a "Grammy-losing" hit.
Kelley was up next with his song, "High Life" - a comical story of a family of "lowlifes" living the high life with grandpa's inheritance and a convenient slip outside Chick-fil-A that scored them $10,000 and free chicken until their dying day.
Actor pals David Naughton, John Callahan, Bruce McGill, Patrick Warburton and Richard Karn have some fun on the red carpet at the Saturday Soiree. (Photo: Scott Avra/Special to The Desert Sun)
Tim Nichols began with "Heads Carolina, Tails California" - a hit that he wrote the lyrics for and put in Jo Dee Messina's mailbox, which led to her putting a big check in his mailbox. David Lee Murphy is a recording artist in addition to being a songwriter, and he wrapped the show with his hit, "Dust on the Bottle."
Each songwriter told the "stories behind the stories" of some of their biggest hits - engaging the audience from beginning to end. The evening's sponsors were the Greater Palm Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau, VIP Motors and the H.N. and Frances C. Berger Foundation, and included a delicious barbecue dinner - perfect for a night of country music, stories and laughs.
The next day, more than 50 supporters visited the BMW Performance Center for The Rush and enjoyed the thrill of the race with timed autocross and drag racing. Celebrities who came out and put the pedal to the metal to raise money for the kids included actors Ben Reed, Kevin Rahm and Bruce McGill; songwriters Kelley Lovelace and Tim Nichols; and tournament host, Patrick Warburton.

One of the highlights of the weekend, the Friday night Jam Session, has been renamed the Rheneypalooza Jam for dedicated leader and Tournament Chairman, Clarke Rheney. The Jam was sold out again for its second straight year.
It kicked off with a tribute to the 50th anniversary of The Doors with Rock and Roll Hall-of-Famer, Robbie Krieger, and Dave Brock of Wild Child on vocals, that got everyone revved up. Next was Skunk Baxter of Steely Dan and The Doobie Brothers.
New artist, Clare Dunn, brought in a little Nashville flair with a couple of her country crossover songs - then blew everyone away with her take on Zeppelin.

MORE HITS
Meade returned to the stage and kept the girl power going with songs like "Dirty Laundry" - which pokes fun at her industry, the news business.
From there, the Rheneypalooza Jam kept the crowd swarmed around the stage to hear hit after hit from icons like Mickey Thomas of Starship, Tommy Thayer of KISS, Danny Seraphine of Chicago, Mike Mills of REM, Kevin Cronin of REO Speedwagon and Alice Cooper.
Everyone was buzzing after the announcement of surprise guest, Michael Bolton, along with another fun addition - Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Felix Cavaliere of The Rascals who performed his 1966 classic, "Good Lovin."
The iconic Huey Lewis closed the show with his signature horns and harmonica and prompted hundreds of cell phones in the air to capture the finale, during which several artists returned to the stage to play the last number with him.

The Rheneypalooza Jam would not be possible without show producer, Andy Kerr, and the talented musicians of Sixwire, which appears on the TV Show, "Nashville" - made up of AndyChilds, Steve Hornbeak, John Howard, Steve Mandile, Chuck Tilley and Kevin Marks. The evening's sponsors were National Rental Car and the H.N. and Frances C. Berger Foundation.
On Saturday and Sunday, those golfing in the tournament took to the courses at the J.W. Marriott as well as Classic Club, while player wives/significant others attended a special Grayse fashion show and brunch on El Paseo - with 10% of proceeds from sales during the event weekend donated to St. Jude.
The Saturday Soiree began with red carpet appearances of the more than 75 celebrities who traveled to the desert for the weekend - including actors, athletes and musicians. This evening truly celebrated St. Jude. Following opening remarks by Patrick and Cathy Warburton and Clarke Rheney, an astounding surprise check presentation in the amount of $400,000 by Garden Fresh kicked off a night filled with unprecedented generosity.
Rick Shadyac - the president/CEO of St. Jude's fundraising arm, ALSAC - spoke passionately about why ALSAC exists and the critical role the organization plays in St. Jude's mission. Then Merry Grayson, the grandmother of a St. Jude patient named Micah, shared her family's journey with St. Jude and insights on what a grandparent faces when their grandchild is diagnosed with childhood cancer.
Perhaps the most exciting part of the night was the Live Auction and 'Give to Live' fundraising segment - which broke records in dollars raised. Guests were once again treated to great music by Sixwire and Friends, rounding out the evening with more dancing and surprise performances by actor Christian Kane, and former contestant on The Voice and Palm Springs resident, Preston Pohl. Shakti Warriors was the sponsor for the Saturday Soiree.

"What we raised this weekend is about what it costs to open the doors and operate St. Jude for a day," said tournament chairman and co-founder, Clarke Rheney. "Since this event's inception seven years ago, we've brought in over $7.3 million total to help the real stars of this tournament - the kids of St. Jude."
The 2018 Warburton Celebrity Golf Tournament will be held March 1-4, 2018. For more information, go to TheWarburton.com.

Hi everyone, I've double-checked my entries of the first few pages of this blog and it seems I've forgotten to place a few articles, so here they come in order of publication. First, one that was published on March 29:

Michael Bolton has the best response to people hooking up to his music, suggests ideal track
By Britt Middleton • 11 hours ago
From new music to acting gigs, Michael Bolton explains why now's the best time in his career.
The man with the silky-smooth voice, Michael Bolton is fully aware of his reputation as the musician whose music you play when you want to "get it on" with that special someone.
"The funniest thing was the first time a journalist asked me how I feel knowing that children are being conceived listening to my music. I blushed and I was uncomfortable and then I realized, of course, I should have thought of that. It's what people do," the icon said in an exclusive interview with TheFIX in Los Angeles.
And if you're wondering which song he suggests to do the deed: "Probably, historically, it's 'When a Man Loves a Woman'. It's not something I wrote, but I wouldn't suggest 'How am I Supposed to Live Without You' for the mood," he mused.
His music's love-making powers was the subject of his recent comedy special for Netflix, Michael Bolton's Big Sexy Valentine's Day Special. In it, he's tasked by Santa Claus to host a telethon and perform so well that it creates 75,000 pregnancies, all because old Saint Nick made a surplus of gifts this year. Nope, we couldn't make this up if we wanted to.
But in all seriousness, the 64-year-old singer is totally cool with exploring his irreverent side and doesn't take himself too seriously these days. It started with "Jack Sparrow", his viral hit with The Lonely Island from 2011, which has more than 165 million views on YouTube to date. He says he and Lonely Island creators Akiva Schaffer, Andy Samberg, and Jorma Taccone still get together to celebrate each time it racks up another 50 million views.

We laugh about it all the time," said Michael.
There's even more comedy acting gigs for him on the horizon, including a forthcoming cameo on ABC's Fresh Off the Boat.
"It is a lot of fun right now," he said. "It's more fun in a lot of ways because as much as I love touring, and I believe I always will, singing live is still the first passion. But comedy and laughter have always been so important to me. And now I have permission, because of The Lonely Island guys coming to me and pitching the Jack Sparrow concept."
Last month, Michael released his 27th album, Songs of Cinema, an ode to the world's most iconic films. The 10-track collection includes the hits "As Time Goes By" from Casablanca, "Old Time Rock and Roll" from Risky Business, and a duet with Dolly Parton of "I Will Always Love You" from The Bodyguard. He even did a new rendition of "Jack Sparrow", of course inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean.
A long time lover of films, Michael explained why this new album was a perfect fit.
"I love the whole body of music. It's music that we all love from movies that we pretty much all love," said the legendary singer, who has sold more than 65 million albums and singles worldwide over the course of three decades in music.
"I love singing the range of it...the duet with Dolly Parton for 'I Will Always Love You'," he said about his favourite part of the recording process. "Now, that makes me look forward to the opportunity to sing it live on the right show together."
Michael's new album, Songs of Cinema, is available for purchase now.

I have a couple more so sit tight! Sylvie :D
Hi everyone, here’s an article Sylvia posted and thanked Petra for sharing on FB about Michael’s concert in Switzerland last night:
http://www.1815.ch/news/wallis/aktuell/tonspur-der-ewigen-liebe/
Here is translation of the German article:
"The main appearance was on the third day of the Festival in the Centre of big rock ballads. The American King of love songs took the audience on a journey through time.
Surrounded by a dozen musicians it was Michael Bolton in the shortest time to put emotional high points at the audience. The concert was opened, with a great classic: "Stand by me" by Ben E. King. With other classics such as "I've got a woman" by Ray Charles, he was soon an enthusiastic atmosphere. The energetic singing with double bass, saxophone, piano and five backup singers was supported.
After two Sung verses, Bolton had the crowd already in the bag, and proved his skills as an entertainer. Since the early of 1980s, he has sold over 60million recordings and garnered two Grammy Awards so."
That’s the news for now, thanks for reading, sincerely, Sylvie :D
Hi everyone, I have 2 links to radio show interviews, thanks to Sylvia. First, the BBC Radio 2’s Steve Wright In The Afternoon one,

Hi everyone, I'm not sure when this article was published, but Sylvia just found and posted it:
Talking Travel with Singer-Songwriter Michael Bolton | Flight Centre Travel Blog
Talking Travel with Singer-Songwriter Michael Bolton
He’s the king of the power ballad. A Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter who has been entertaining audiences worldwide with his unique brand of mass-appeal music for more than four decades.
Selling more than 75 million records and notching up six multi-platinum albums in a row between 1987 and 1995 alone, Michael Bolton has one of the most successful careers in the music biz. And he has a cabinet full of Grammy and AMA Awards to show for it.
Now, the 63-year old hit-maker is back in the charts with a brand new album and an upcoming world tour. He talks to Flight Centre about his professional travelling life.
-What’s your favourite holiday?
-Maui in Hawaii – my kids and I used to go there every year. As beautiful as it is there, the main attraction for me was having my daughters around me at that age and just enjoying our time together. These days it’s next to impossible to get everyone to travel at the same time, so I look back on those vacations with great fondness.
-What’s your carry-on essential?
-Professional headphones. Even if I’m going on vacation, I’m usually in work mode. I live on a plane – I fly every couple of days – so if I’ve recorded some new material I’ll go through it all on the plane and I need to listen at a professional level to make sure that the frequencies and the like are right.
-How do you beat jet lag?
-Twenty years ago I was on a plane every other day, flying from New York to London or wherever – I’d check into my room, take meetings that night, have a business dinner or do interviews or tour… I remember back then it was only one night of jet lag but now it’s not the case.
While I fly regularly from LA to New York and back, which is nothing, big 10 to 14-hour flights leave me with a two-day jet lag. And unfortunately, I don’t think there’s any way to beat it – it’s just the reality of time. No matter how much you stay in shape and try to combat it, jet lag is something I’ve never been able to get beyond.
Michael Bolton was thrilled to perform at the Sydney Opera House. Image: Getty
-What’s your favourite city for music?
-That’s not a fair question! LA, New York, London… almost anywhere in Italy. It depends on what kind of music I’m looking for and what I’m in the mood for. My shows cover RnB, rock and classical – it’s a wide selection. I love it all.
There’s chances of seeing great artists everywhere. I finally got to play the Sydney Opera House, which is such an iconic building – it looks great outside and sounds amazing inside. And there you have great concerts and orchestras. So, you can really see great live music everywhere.
Adventure or luxury?
I’d say comfort, as travel takes its toll, particularly when I’m on a pretty gruelling touring schedule. I’ve been around the world 20 or 30 times and I’m going to want to be able to sleep well.
You won’t be 100 per cent for a show unless you recharge your body and I need to be in good shape for the audience, for dedicated fans who know your body of work word for word – they’ve sometimes even conceived their kids to my music! It’s funny but it’s true.
-What’s the essential ingredient for a good trip?
-Being with good friends and family – it’s always about the people you’re with. People who make you laugh and who love to laugh. It starts there. If you’re with people like that anywhere you go, you’ll enjoy the experience.
Even if you're scuba diving, good travel buddies make all the difference. Image: Getty
-What’s your top travel tip?
-See above! Make sure that you’e surround by people you love being with. That really will determine the level of your enjoyment and quality of your experience, whether it’s hiking, scuba diving or whatever… you just need to be with quality people.
-What’s your biggest packing mistake?
-I do my own packing and I’ve been travelling from 1983 and from ’87 it has been non-stop around the world. I pack in a way that someone who travels constantly packs – I’m very mindful of what you can and can’t take and travel regulations. I don’t want to make life difficult for my travel, anyone I’m travelling with or security folk. I’m super-conscious of that. I’ve done stuff like leaving my phone charger behind in the past but now I’m so trained I can almost unconsciously pack everything I need while walking from room to room on the phone.
-Where do you want to go next?
-I’m getting ready to do some more shows in the states. I have some in Canada and then Europe. I’m travelling until May touring and then there’s a TV project for South-East Asia that finds great singers. That may start late April or May. I’ve been travelling in that region for 30 years and I love it. I’ll have off days, so I’ll be able to sightsee too, whether that be a few days in Singapore or a few in Kuala Lumpur.
-Michael’s new album, Songs of Cinema, is out now.

The Nightly Show triumphs with unlikely trio of hunks Bradley Walsh, Vinnie Jones and Michael Bolton – with music from The Chase’s The Vixen
It was an action packed night for the divisive late night comedy show

WEEK after week The Nightly Show has struggled to win over audiences after angering millions by taking The News At Ten of air and with a mixed bag of hosts.
While Davina McCall and Dermot O’Leary proved to be highlights of the ambitious ITV comedy talkshow during weeks three and four, Monday night saw a surprising surge of approval from viewers as Bradley Walsh took the hot seat.

Bradley Walsh, Vinnie Jones and Michael Bolton thrilled on The Nightly Show
He was joined by Vinnie Jones and Michael Bolton – while The Chase star Jenny Ryan (aka The Vixen) also appeared for a special mini-round of her hit gameshow and to showcase her talent show winning singing abilities.
It appears 56-year-old Bradley (who is the host of early evening quiz The Chase) was too irresistible for many viewers – who flooded Twitter with praise thanks to his mild sense of humour.
As he introduced the ‘Fake News At 10’ with amusing picture puns about The Boat Race and The Voice, viewers couldn’t help but start chuckling.
He grilled Vinnie Jones, 52, about his film career – and then encouraged 64-year-old Michael Bolton to take part in a Bolton themed round of The Chase.

Bradley’s warm sense of humour brought joy on Monday night
Jenny “The Vixen” Ryan from The Chase appeared for a sketch
And his charming approach was welcomed by many, with one commenting: “Bradley Walsh is easily the best host so far.”
Another wrote: “Decent first night on #thenightlyshow. Fast paced and full of energy. Great house band too! Best host so far!”
“@BradleyWalsh loving you on nightly show already. I suffer from depression I want to thank you for making me laugh through this and chase,” another wrote – while a further fan thought he deserved more than half an hour.
Viewers loved Bradley and his guests
His rapport with his guest was also welcome – with one thinking the line up was the best yet, writing: “The Nightly Show ITV with Bradley Walsh, and guests Vinnie Jones and Micheal Bolton was great tonight! It’s turned the corner.”
Another said the line-up made them want to tune in for the first time, writing: “brilliant episode! Bradley Walsh and Vinnie Jones hilarious!”
And a further fan gushed: “I love @VinnieJones65 and #bradleywalsh ” – showing a hint of lust with a heart eyed emoji.
The Vixen went head to head with Michael Bolton for a quiz
Michael won The Chase about Bolton
Meanwhile the appearance of The Vixen from The Chase did not go unnoticed as Jenny wheeled out a portable chase board and went head to head with Michael to win a slap up dinner.
Although she may have lost in the head to head, Jenny did get to show off her impressive singing skills as she closed out the show singing a rendition of Michael’s 1983 classic How Am I Supposed To Live Without You while playing a ukelele and as he enjoyed dinner with a fan.
Jenny may have won the BBC’s Let’s Sing And Dance for Comic Relief with her singing skills – but many were blown away after hearing her sing for the first time.
The Vixen from The Chase demonstrates impressive singing on The Nightly Show
"The nightly show with Bradley Walsh was the best and Jenny the Vixen singing good end to the night," one fan gushed on Twitter.
Another suggested the star should try out for another ITV show, writing: "Jenny the vixen Ryan xfactor is calling you. What a lovely voice."
While another impressed fan wrote: "#TheVixen is an amazing singer!"
Bradley Walsh will host The Nightly Show all week on ITV at 10pm.

“Steve Wright in the Afternoon is on at 2.00 pm not 12 noon and Michael is not on that until Thursday, 6th April. Possibly he is recording it today at noon but it is not on air then.”
