Hi Lisa and just to say "WERK" means when working on something that is completely new.  It also means working on something to the highest possible standard, i.e perfection and we all know Michael is a perfectionist so that is possibly why he has adopted the word for he has used it in the past to describe what he is doing right now. It comes from the Urban Dictionary.
