Michael has a milestone birthday coming up in February 2018. I ran an idea past Gail that passed with approval.
I have small cards that are 2.5X3.5. The idea for the card is not to say happy birthday, but you have room to put a few sentences to tell Michael why you love him, his music or how his music helped you in hard times. It’s should be big enough for a wallet size photo if you would like.
Then when he’s home sitting at his desk, he can pull 1 or 2 cards to read when he has the time. Our words will be with him all year.
1- I request a SASE, and I will send you a card. Write your note and put in your picture. When your finished, mail it back to me.
For those out of the country, I checked with my postmaster and she said you can put your own postage on the return envelope equivalent to $1.15 US.
Email me, Sally, at MYSCRTPSSN@gmail.com and I can give you an address to send your SASE (self addressed stamped envelope).
2- Another option that isn’t as personal, is to email me a short note and I can cut and paste it onto a card for you. I don’t want to handle pictures this way because I’m not that computer literate and don’t want to make errors with something as personal as a picture.
When all the cards are gathered, I’ll put them in some sort of decorate box. And the box of cards will be Michael’s birthday gift from us.
3- you can also. Send me your note via snail mail and I’ll put it in a card for you. I’m open to suggests and will do what I can to make this easy for us both.
Your welcome to share my email with anyone you think may be interested in contributing to Michael’s milestone 65!
Looking forward to hearing from you, Sally

Hey Sylvia, good to hear from you sweetie! Oh I know you’re busy and Facebooking and all, don’t worry about it. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you about the San Antonio concert! Well, lucky you having a place to stay if you go! :D I have to say that this has been one of the most painless summers I’ve had in years. :D My boys have kept busy, but I am very much looking forward to getting the house back to myself. So what’s happening with your work situation, if I may ask?  Are your kids looking forward to get back to school? I know my youngest is, so he can get to see his girlfriend. :D I find that August always seems to go too fast though. Well, take good care of yourself Sylvia and do let me know  if you can manage going. I think you have a few weeks to plan so break a leg! The tour review thread could use a little action… All right girl, take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hey Sylvia, I know you don't come here often and hope at least that you check this page once in a while. I've just heard from Gail that Michael has apparently confirmed that on September 26, he should be doing a concert in San Antonio TX, is that close to you? Sorry girl, I'm geographically-challenged and I've discovered that California is a really big state, that's why I'm asking. Hope that's close enough for you to go. I'm keeping my fingers crossed because Michael has, so far, 2 concerts scheduled for Canada in October. I'm not holding my breath,  but fingers, toes, legs, eyes and signals are crossed! :D Take care sweetie and hope you're having a nice summer so far. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi Sylvia, always good to hear from you sweetie! Oh how nice you went to Disney, Disney World or Disneyland? Not that it makes a difference! Wow, memories… my husband and I went with our eldest daughter, 3 kids ago, just before American Thanksgiving, we stayed 2 weeks and had glorious weather and just adored our stay in Florida. Yikes, that’s a lot of E-mails, I’ll bet most of them were from Facebook! Have you checked out the Regis performance? It’s on a blog on the main page and on the LWRAK site, there’s a web exclusive of Michael and Regis singing WAMLAW, only the way Regis can! Lol I’m itching to get my CD but it’s in the mail and there’s still a postal strike in Canada, what horrid timing! There have been sneak peeks on YouTube and I just love them all and I’m salivating over the reviews of fans who received it already in the mail because they were shipped early.  If you have time, you should check out the tour review thread sweetie, new reviews are popping up since Michael is back on the road. My boys are out of school as of tomorrow and this promises to be a long summer for my teen boys so hope I get my CD soon! :D Take good care of yourself Sylvia and do keep in touch. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi Sylvia, fantastic hearing from you girl! Listen, I’m a bit pressed for time this morning, but if you go to the main page, you’ll find a blog post that says: “For those who missed it”  and I guess there’s a link to the performance. But if you go to the “live with Regis and Kelly” site, there’s a web exclusive of the end of the performance we didn’t see on air. Hope you enjoy it! I’ll write to you soon sweetie, I’m popular these days! Lol Take good care of yourself Sylvia, big hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi Sylvia, good to hear from you sweetie. Still busy as ever huh? I wish you and your family well on the job and finances front. Fun money, what’s that? Lol Ah, poor kid, sorry to hear your allergies are so bad… Allergies in December, indoor allergies I suppose? Not fun… Sweetie, I’m exhausted just listening to you! lol Never worry about delays responding, you have a busy life. So have you ordered your “Gems” bundle? The track listing is so amazing, thanks for sharing sweetie! It looks like there’ll be different versions of the CD with bonus tracks internationally though. I can’t wait to hear “You are so beautiful” and “Hallelujah” and the rest, of course! I can’t wait for DWTS either! Sylvia, I have to ask: what did you think of the “Jack Sparrow” video? My friend described it to me and I roared laughing! Although I have to say I am a little torn because that’s usually the kind of stuff I try to keep away from my kids… It’s a guilty pleasure because it’s Michael… :D Well, I hope you’ve had a great mother’s day sweetie and yes, we do have it on the same day. I’ve spent mine mostly doddling and listening to Michael! :D Take care Sylvia and thanks so much for writing. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi Sylvia, good to hear from you sweetie! Oh I’m so sorry to hear about the budget cuts… May I ask: do you need this job to make ends meet? I hope not but if so, break a leg finding another one sweetie. In times like these, you really find out about what’s really necessary, don’t you think? Things have been hectic here too, but they should settle soon. Normalcy is under-rated! Lol Yes, Michael’s next CD will be entitled “Gems”. From the info we have so far, it looks like Michael has re-recorded as a duet 1 gem he picked from each of his albums. So far, we know of 7  artists in all who will collaborate with him. About touring, it seemed like Michael was slowing down some, but new dates keep popping up, some in Europe, some in America. We’re all well here Sylvia and hope you and yours are too. Do you have any plans for the summer? We don’t really, but I hope my eldest son will get a summer job, he’ll be turning 16 shortly. Both my daughters are moving and we’re trying to manage the overstock traffic here! Lol Funny you should mention the spring weather today, because  it’s hailing right now! This past week has been grey and sleepy. My tulips have come out but they haven’t opened yet: I can’t blame them… :D I’ve revisited concert memories too in the past week: April 3rd was the second anniversary of Michael’s last concert here in Montreal. Oh Sylvia, if you can find a minute before the end of the month, my friend Pilar met Michael in Portugal and is giving away a signed photo of him. If you’d like to enter in the draw, just post your name here:

Take good care of yourself my friend and do keep in touch. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi Sylvia, well, I haven’t checked or anything lol but I’ll try and upload the file where you can hear it for yourself, straight from his mouth… ;D Funny you should mention your winter Texans because the day I took my walk, I heard the Canadian geese come back! Huh, that’s an interesting choice of artists Michael lists there… Thanks for sharing, by the way. Sorry you haven’t seen the “Hitman returns” special yet: it’s been on 3 times already here and my hubby has bought me the CD/DVD. He found it easily in the store, which came as a shock, for once! I had already heard the 2 videos months ago on Youtube though. The entire show is pretty good. I loved Michael, of course, but I really enjoyed Seal with Donna Summer, Ruben Studdard, Earth Wind & Fire and loved Ne-Yo’s performances too. Well, thanks a lot for sending the spring weather Sylvia! We had about 50 degrees Farenheit today here and predicting a sunny weekend! It was so nice hearing from you twice in one week, thank you so much for writing sweetie! Take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi Sylvia, ah, March break… If you’re lucky, your kids won’t have gotten bored too soon! :D Which video of Michael’s did you see on Facebook, the one with Seal? I love it! I do hope you catch it on PBS. Oh, I’m sorry about the death in your family… My condolences sweetie… Wow, I’m surprised you have time to catch up! There’s a hint of spring here. For the past week or so, we’ve been around the freezing mark and snow is melting slowly, but we’re not taking anything for granted. I was able to take my first walk of the season with my son yesterday! About Michael settling down, I think either his girlfriend  will have to put up with his schedule, or he’ll have to make a life altering choice. I really thought he made an effort the last time around with Nicolette… Sylvia, don’t tell anyone, but I heard him say once that he doesn’t wear any… ;D Here’s a couple of good questions: does he have a favorite cover of one of his songs and what kind of music does he listen to when he wants to “switch off”? If you can’t think of anything, feel free to use those and you don’t even have to give me credit for them… :D Well, maybe one day we’ll catch up, but it’s always nice to talk and hear from you. Take care Sylvia, have a great week and hope we talk again soon. Big hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

P.S.: If you use my questions, tell me what he said! :D

Hey Sylvia, good to hear from you sweetie! Yep, I’ve heard about Michael answering questions on video and I might try to sneek a few more through my friends on Facebook, you never know! :D Let me hear if you decide to write one in. I’m doing okay, thanks for asking. Hope you and yours are doing well too. Have you been able to catch Michael on PBS yet? I’ve been fortunate enough to catch him 3 times already: I have 2 PBS stations in my area. My hubby has also bought me the CD/DVD and I really enjoyed the show and not just Michael’s part! It would be fun to catch up in a PM sometime, if you have time. We’re starting to see signs of spring here, between sleet and rain periods… :D I can’t wait to start taking walks again. 2 of my forum friends, a mother and daughter are seeing Michael for the first time in 15 years tonight in KY and I can’t wait to hear their reviews! I was talking about you on the tour review thread today : I keep bragging for you about your concert experience… :D Well, take good care of yourself and your little ones Sylvia and do keep in touch. Big hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi Sylvia, good to hear from you! It’s okay not responding every day. I’m glad you’re keeping an eye on Michael. I love hearing him at the store: they usually put him on these digital channels. Oh my, God bless you for being so dedicated to the cookie sales! You must know all the good spots to sell them now?, So is your daughter doing much of the legwork herself? :D Good luck girlfriend! Weather-wise here,we’re having seesaw temps but mostly pretty cold: the high today will be about 2 Farenheit. I just hope you guys don’t get snow! Here, we’re getting every other day dustings. My husband and I shoveled the driveway clean in only an hour on Saturday. Oh Sylvia, my daughter  has actually been gone for a couple of months and although we’re keeping in touch, the fact that she moved out with her new boyfriend so quickly is really breaking my heart, but that’s life. I actually have my 13 year old and a 15 year old son too. I do enjoy my time alone at home and never get bored but I don’t want my babies to go too far… :D Okay, I have to close up shop and prove my worth now. Thanks for touching base sweetie, take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi Sylvia, yes I'd love  some of those mint girlscouts cookies please! lol Well, what an ambitious daughter you have, or is that just a bit more sales than last year for her? :D What an interesting art project: I've never heard of such a thing. That does sound like a lot of work! I'm sorry to hear it's been so cold for you: the weather is so freaky this year, isn't it? Oh my, 9 years old, seems like an eternity ago for me and my youngest is 13 and taller than I am... Cool you guys are hockey fans. You should take the cookies to the hockey game: lots of hungry people there! :D Funny picture about the winter Texans! lol Well, on my side, my youngest daughter moved out recently and I miss her terribly, but I'm getting motivated to get my own den to put my music, dolls and art projects, so the rest of the house can look like a grown-up's house! lol Also, I got a USB turntable for Xmas and looking forward to transfer my LP's to mp3's. About Michael, we've read concert reviews from Florida fans on the Ticketmaster site and hoping to get confirmation about the setlist. This one fan posted that Michael sang "WhenI'm back on my feet again" but I'm thinking that can't be right... I'm still very active on the forum... :D It's truly wonderful to hear from you Sylvia, drop in anytime you can, I don't go out much! lol Take care sweetie. Big hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi Sylvia, ah I’m so glad for you that you’ve had some fun family time! Santa was good to me and I had all my family with me at Xmas! Thanks for the good wishes and wish your family the best too my friend! I do hope we get to talk more over the next year and wish you get to see Michael again: you’re so much fun to read! Thanks for thinking of me during your quiet time: I do the same myself! New years always bring new hope and I’m sure whatever the new year brings, it’ll all be for the best and I do look forward to it. Take care sweetie and a happy and healthy New Year to you and yours! Hi Sylvia, good to hear from you sweetie! Yes I’ve had a great Christmas and Santa brought me what I wanted: my whole family with me, thanks for asking.  It’s been a year of change for me, some good and next year will be interesting. I’m glad you’ve had a great Xmas too. You’ve never told me how many kids you have Sylvia, I have 4. We’ve been fairly lucky weather-wise and the snow has passed us by, thank goodness! Oh I’ve heard that the tix for Michael and Kenny G are a little steep, it just might be a charity event but I know it’ll be way worth it for those who can afford it!  Glad you’re having a nice holliday time and at least trying to catch up. I’m making more friends and have this silly new Scottish friend named Sylvia and she’s a riot. The holidays have been fun on the forum. Well take care sweetie, more messages await and I’m a bit behind. Take care sweet friend, I’m trying to keep warm! :D big hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

I hope to have all my family with me this year so that will make it happy and that’s all I need. I’ve been getting into the spirit: listening to Xmas music and baking my little heart out. Looking forward to Saturday! Take care sweetie. Warm hugs and kisses, sincerely, from Sylvie from chilly Canada

Hi Sylvia, glad you enjoyed the “School of Michael Bolton”! Well actually, there’s this big fat thread for video treasures:
http://michaelbolton.ning.com/forum/topics/new-videos-on-youtube?
I’m sure you’ll be able to get lost for days on it! Lol Well, there is also a video section that can be accessed from the main page. I have to say I don’t check it very often though because there are so many other sources of videos on the forum. :D yes, there are always many volunteers when it comes to nursing Michael back to health. Ah I wish he gets better soon, poor guy, he needs his rest… All right Sylvia, you’re the lucky recipient of my last message for tonight. I’m off to watch the Grammy Nominees show. Take care and goodnight. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi Sylvia, :D I know sweetie, that’s why I mentioned it… :D Oh my goodness, the poor child is hardly 6 weeks old… Oh boy, you put up your Xmas trees? How many do you have? Lol Oh cool you found your MB ornament: I have 3 now. I never bought them from the MBC because they were too expensive but got 2 on EBay and one of them only cost 1 cent! The third one I did buy last year from MBC, one of those crystal ones. Yeah I know, you’d think Michael would want to have a month off for the holidays… Well, I know it’s not the same as family togetherness or a warm hug, but today, staying in touch is so much easier. I’m sure he can stay in touch with his family with Skype and talk to them and see them every day. His last tour of Asia was very successful so why not take advantage of it. Something tells me we should keep an eye on Youtube around those dates… Have you had time to check out the videos from Europe? Michael is singing “Hallelujah” over there and also the blues song “Sweet home Chicago”! I’m thinking the blues album is closer than we think! Well Sylvia, I’m off to more messages. Lol oh I missed that: TTFN, take care sweetie. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi Sylvia, good to hear from yu sweetie. Hmm, need a vacation to recover from your vacation? :D I’m glad you can spend some time with hubby. My husband always had trouble using up his vacation days with his former job so I know what that’s like. I did have time alone with hubby on the weekend: my boys were gone and the house was very quiet! The Brits are very generous with their reviews, aren’t they? I think you had told me that you pre-ordered the Xmas CD, didn’t you? I read on the Amazon site that it was postponed to Dec 14. We’ve had our first real snowfall on Saturday and expecting a high of 40 tomorrow. It can’t be easy for you though having such a huge difference in temperatures. Well, glad you’ve had a nice Thanksgiving Sylvia and maybe you can do some Xmas shopping during hubby’s vacation? Have fun with that. Take good care of yourself my friend and hope to talk to you soon. Big hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
