Michael has a milestone birthday coming up in February 2018. I ran an idea past Gail that passed with approval.
I have small cards that are 2.5X3.5. The idea for the card is not to say happy birthday, but you have room to put a few sentences to tell Michael why you love him, his music or how his music helped you in hard times. It’s should be big enough for a wallet size photo if you would like.
Then when he’s home sitting at his desk, he can pull 1 or 2 cards to read when he has the time. Our words will be with him all year.
I request a SASE, and I will send you a card. Write your note and put in your picture. When your finished, mail it back to me. You could even send your note on a 2x3 size paper and I’ll attach it to a card. Send your picture to if you like. That would take out the SASE step.
For those out of the country, I checked with my postmaster and she said you can put your own postage on the return envelope equivalent to $1.15 US.
Email me, Sally, at MYSCRTPSSN@gmail.com and I can give you an address to send your SASE (self addressed stamped envelope).
A second option that isn’t as personal, is to email me a short note and I can cut and paste it onto a card for you. I don’t want to handle pictures this way because I’m not that computer literate and don’t want to make errors with something as personal as a picture.
Just let me know the option that works best for you.
When all the cards are gathered, I’ll put them in some sort of decorate box. And the box of cards will be Michael’s birthday gift from us.
It might seem early, but it’s something that we can work on Now through January. I’d like to be finished by February since I would need to get a box and mail it off to Michael.
Your welcome to share my email with anyone you think may be interested in contributing to Michael’s milestone 65!
Looking forward to hearing from you, Sally

Hi Alison, how are you? Long time no see! I just read that you were on-line so thought I'd say hi. I've just sent my U.K. friends a message about the contest for U.K. fans and hope you've taken a look at it. Can you believe it's been so long since Michael had told you about his autobiography? :D I got both the  hard cover and the audio versions. I recieved my audio last Monday and finished it in 2 days! It's just fabulous, as we expected... :D In case you don't know, Michael included a song called "Gotta keep dreming" at the end of the audio book. It'll be on the new CD in 11 days! Gosh, it's been so long and so much has gone on lately with Michael. If you need help catching up, let me know Alison. Take care sweetie and I hope you enjoy the autobiography, whichever one you get. Take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie Qc canada

Hi Alison, just wanted to pop by for the latest news. Well just to let you know, I’ve just heard from Amazon and it looks like “The soul of it all” is postponed at least until the end of January. I’m very disappointed, but trying to focus on the  fact that Michael will be on TV on “2 ½ men” in 2 weeks and God willing, we should hear something about the new CD when Michael returns from the Dave Coz cruise...  Take care sweetie and let me hear from you sometime. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hey Alison, how are you sweetie? Well, I hope. I’m not too bad, it’s finally a beautiful day today here. Oh my, I understand your feeling about almost passing out the first time you held Michael’s hand! Lol My first time holding his hand was a very exciting time, during my first gala weekend in CT when I first met Bolton buddies. My 2 buddies and I are blind and we were listening to the gala at the door, because we couldn’t afford the ticket price, when a security guard let us in the gala. But towards the end of the show, Michael asked the fans to come to the stage! I thought I was dreaming… One of our sighted friends took us to the stage and she extended our hands to hold Michael’s… You know when life seems to go in slow motion? That’s exactly how I felt for I don’t know how many seconds… All I could do was mouthe the words “I love you Michael!”… Then Michael let go of my hand very very slowly and the music came back on in my head… :D As we left the hall afterwards, I sobbed like a baby… Best times of my life… Speaking of best times, how was the Richard Marx show? Did you get any good pictures? You know Ali, I’d probably do the same if I could see pictures, that’s probably why I listen to Michael so intently… :D I have another fun link for you, but I just want to make sure you’ve seen the other ones before I give it to you. I really hope you’ve enjoyed the audio interview, I love when Michael does long ones. An interviewer can ask him one question and he’ll respond for 20 minutes and it will still be interesting! Lol BTW, do you know how to find your forum in-box in case you want to send or retrieve PM’s (personal messages)?  Just checking. Okay, gotta go, I have to pack an overnight bag, I’m off to the opera tomorrow! Take care Ali and have a great weekend! Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi Alison, I’ve heard that Michael usually tosses guitar picks in the audience and at times, he’ll hand them directly:I just got lucky! :D It felt so unreal, since I can’t see him and he didn’t say anything. I expected a handshake and he opened my hand with one hand, placed the pick and closed my  fingers on it: I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face all night! Lol Yes, he is amazing! :D I loved “Once in a lifetime” instantly too. My sister had a Sony compilation and had me hear it. I couldn’t believe I’d never heard such a magnificent song! I was ecstatic when I found it on “Love songs”! Aww, yours and Geoff’s story is so sweet, thank you for sharing Alison… Ooh, I should show you this thread:

http://www.michaelbolton.com/forum/topics/introduction-to-michael

Woops, I’m sorry, I don’t even know if you were able to check my other links… :D Anyway, this one is all about how people have discovered Michael. I was already married when I discovered him. Wow, sounds like Richard’s show would be interesting to hear, cool stories! He has such a sweet voice. Hall & Oates did something similar and put it on DVD. I’ve attended 4 of their concerts between ‘82 and ‘06 and they’re amazing live. I adore the new MB songs but can’t wait to hear the closer studio versions. I’ll tell you though: I’m addicted to “Jack Sparrow”! lol I love to read people’s comments on YouTube… Oh I’m sure we’ll know when Michael starts responding to questions, since he’ll be responding on video and I was told they’d be transferred to YouTube. Unfortunately, Facebook videos only have visual access. I live in a suburb of Montreal, it says so, close to the top of people’s profile page where they’re from. Okay girl, I’m out of room. Take care Ali and it was great hearing from you! Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hey Alison,  good idea carrying Michael around! Lol I do too, but in a different way… :D in 2003, my friend took me to the stage after a concert and Michael himself put a guitar pick in my hand, I was in shock! lol I can’t say that I find specific songs to fit moments in my life, but certain songs like “When I’m back on my feet again” will fix anything, but just because it’s my favorite all-time song. Is “Once in a lifetime” your favorite? Oh, I’m sorry to hear about your neck, have you ever had physical therapy for that? Oh I love Richard Marx too and my sister is crazy about him! My friend met Richard once and he recorded an “audio autograph” for me on her tape, what a sweetheart! Ooh, cool you’ve posted the question to Michael, I hope he starts responding to fans questions soon. My guess would be that he might start around the release of “Gems”. What do you think of the new songs so far? Have you heard the concert clips on Youtube? I love them and can not wait to hear the studio versions! I hope your poor head feels better soon. It’s always great hearing from you Alison, take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi again Alison, I just thought of something, are you on Facebook? I’m not, but  if you can find where it is, there’s a section on Michael’s Facebook page to ask him questions. Maybe you’d like to ask him if he’d consider making an audio book version of his biography, whenever he releases it. Maybe you could even slip in the personal touch about the fact that he first told you about it and how much you enjoyed the wonderful interview you had with him… :D I think Michael might enjoy that… It’s just a thought. Take care sweetie. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi Alison, I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had to endure hardships, but I’m glad to hear that Michael, through his music, has helped you through. My hardships are minor compared to others, but his music will always be welcome in my house. I have a few MB pictures in my house, even if I don’t see them and someone commented once that he was part of this family… :D I guess you could say that… Oh Gail is the absolute best! Actually, I’ve heard that Michael has 2 different antique pins. Don’t worry about the links, check them out when it’s convenient for you. I’ve had one of those monthly headaches myself, but my computer screen is off so I can’t blame it on that! Lol Once you’ve checked out the links, I just might find other goodies for you to check out! :D Take care sweetie and hope you feel better soon. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi Alison, well, what a nice greeting! Nice to hear from you too! :D Gail has known me for 11 years now and she knows that I would just love to have an audio book version of  anything Michael would release. I just don’t know how many people would be interested, other than my friend Robin R who’s blind too and I really don’t know if the publishing company would think it would be a sound  investment, no pun intended! :D I personally think that if Michael had the time, that he’d love to do it, since so much more can be communicated through the spoken word…  Alison, this is the first fan forum I’ve been able to participate in and it really is a dream come true for me, exchanging with great fans, old and new who are just as nutty as I am about Michael. I truly mean what it says on my page, that I consider Michael to be the musical love of my life… Do let me know what you thought of the links! Take care sweetie and thanks for being my friend! Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hiya again Ali, oh boy, are you kidding me? I’m sure that this autobiography will surprise a lot of people, especially Michael’s early days and teen years. I wish Michael will do an audio version of his autobiography, first because I’d love to listen to him talk for hours, lol but also because I’m blind but would love to read it. Oh yes I agree that he’s an amazingly caring man and does everything he can for his fans. Alison, I’d like to share a couple of things with you. First, go to this forum thread:

http://michaelbolton.com/forum/topics/follow-up-info-for-the-history

It’s a fantastic thread about Michael’s early days, I’m sure you’ll love it: it’s one of my favorites. Also, if you can, go to this web site:

http://www.wolfgangsvault.com/michael-bolton/concerts/interview-august-13-1988.html

On this site, create an account for free and you can hear one of the most incredible interviews Michael did in 1988: it’s about 45 minutes long but so worth it! There is also a mini concert he did in ’83 on the site. Oh, that really is too bad about the Smooth Radio interview, but that was really a precious gift he gave you, telling you about “Once in a lifetime”! Thank you so very much for sharing this Alison! That is indeed a special memory, aside from your picture, wow! Well,Michael did say he’d embark on another world tour after the release of “Gems” so I hope we both get to have a concert in our area this year. BTW, thank you for accepting my friends request! Take care Ali and again, thank you so much for sharing. Have a nice week. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi again Ali, I’m so glad to have found you sweetie! I don’t know if you’ve been to a concert in the past year, but in the tour book, there were questions asked by fans that Michael answered that were printed in there. Sweetie, thanks to you, Michael answered one of my questions! I knew I had read about the interview and how Michael confessed to you that he was writing his autobiography, but no one seemed to remember, but I did. So I posted a question to him, asking how far along he was writing it and he responded! He actually answered 2 of my questions, if you can believe that: I can’t believe  it myself! Lol Alison, did Smooth Radio ever send you the interview on CD? We never did hear from you about it… It must have been such a fantastic experience… This CD sounds like it’ll be something else and I hope Michael comes back here during his world tour. Thank you so much for your quick response, it was great hearing from you! Take care sweetie. Big hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi Alison and since it hasn't been that long since I've read your name here, I'll welcome you to the forum. I just wanted to ask you a question: are you the Alison who was known as "Ali" on the previous michaelbolton.co.uk forum web site? I'm just curious. I could read the previous forum but couldn't participate because of technical restrictions but I really love this one! Thank you for your time and have a nice day. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
