Michael has a milestone birthday coming up in February 2018. I ran an idea past Gail that passed with approval.
I have small cards that are 2.5X3.5. The idea for the card is not to say happy birthday, but you have room to put a few sentences to tell Michael why you love him, his music or how his music helped you in hard times. It’s should be big enough for a wallet size photo if you would like.
Then when he’s home sitting at his desk, he can pull 1 or 2 cards to read when he has the time. Our words will be with him all year.
1- I request a SASE, and I will send you a card. Write your note and put in your picture. When your finished, mail it back to me.
For those out of the country, I checked with my postmaster and she said you can put your own postage on the return envelope equivalent to $1.15 US.
Email me, Sally, at MYSCRTPSSN@gmail.com and I can give you an address to send your SASE (self addressed stamped envelope).
2- Another option that isn’t as personal, is to email me a short note and I can cut and paste it onto a card for you. I don’t want to handle pictures this way because I’m not that computer literate and don’t want to make errors with something as personal as a picture.
When all the cards are gathered, I’ll put them in some sort of decorate box. And the box of cards will be Michael’s birthday gift from us.
3- you can also. Send me your note via snail mail and I’ll put it in a card for you. I’m open to suggests and will do what I can to make this easy for us both.
Your welcome to share my email with anyone you think may be interested in contributing to Michael’s milestone 65!
Looking forward to hearing from you, Sally
Hi Sue, great to hear from you! Oh I’m so happy for you that you were able to go, I heard it was through invitation only, how did that happen? Did they invite only people who visit and gamble there? I found out recently who Amanda Brown was, because I don’t watch “The voice”. I was finally able to attend my own concert on March 11th and it was just what the doctor ordered! I went with my daughter who enjoyed the concert too and it was great to hear her singing too. :D Well actually, my husband is recovering from a couple of broken lims and antsy to get back home, but we’re talking several times a day and I visit too. My concert came at a perfect time really and if you’d like to read my review, check here:
I hope you and Deb are doing well and that 2015 is treating you well so far. Winter’s been long and cold, but snow is starting to melt and spring should bring my hubby back home, so something to look forward too. Thanks again for your message Sue, take good care and say hi to Deb for me. Big hugs, sincerely, Sylvie Qc Canada :D
Hi Sue, how are you? Well, I hope. I just wanted to check up on you and find out whether you and Deb are going to the Portsmouth show on Sunday, I hope so. Michael rocked the U.K. but he hasn't rescheduled the Montreal show yet. I've been told by the venue it might not be before 2015. :( Well anyway, there's been lots of reviews from the U.K. and living vicariously through reviews is better than nothing for now. :D In any case, if you do go, I wish you and Deb a great time! Take good care Sue. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie QC Canada :D
I hope both you and Deb can go. I'm usually in touch with her over the holidays, but this past year has been too crazy busy, so I never got to send my cards. I hope you're both doing well. My concert is in 26 days up here in Montreal and I just can't believe it! :D Take care sweetie. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie QC Canada :D
Hi Sue, good to hear from you! Ah Sue, are you too shy to post a review of your show on the tour review thread? I thought that the first time you posted your own blog, that you might have been too shy to post with others or just didn’t know where to post. If you’d like to check it out, here’s the link to it:
There, people post reviews, pictures and sometimes videos of their shows. We have a lot of fun. I am so glad to hear that you and Deb made it to the stage several times! I hear it was a really small venue, wasn’t it? Did you shake his hand at the stage or were you able to see him after the show? Wow, do you have plans to see him again this year? Have you heard about the “Hitman returns” special and Michael’s new CD scheduled for May? I got the CD/DVD of “Hitman returns, David Foster & friends” the day it was released and was amazed they had it in stores in Canada. I’ve “seen” the PBS special 3 times in my area already too, so I’m pretty lucky for that. Ah, I’m doing okay, thanks for asking Sue. As my mom used to say: it could be better but it would cost more! :D Hope you and Deb are doing well, please tell her I said hi. Take care Sue and hope you do come over to the tour review thread: the invitation is open. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hi Sue, how are you? Well, I hope. Listen, I was checking the event page for next Monday's concert and checked the list of fans that are attending and didn't find your name. Are you and Deb still going? I sure hope so! And I hope you'll report back too. The concert reviews have been few and far between of Michael's shows this year on the "new 2011 tour review" thread but the ones for the Valentine's day show were a doozie! lol BTW, out of curiosity, my friend Robin was wondering if you and Deb are still in touch with Sue Bolduc? We're both just curious. I really don't know how well she had been doing with the computer training so doubt she's a forum member, but although we had broken up the friendship, we still care about her and wondered how she was doing. All right sweetie, take good care of yourself and respond when you can. And if I don't get to talk to you before then and you are going, have a fantastic show on Monday and say hi to Deb for me! Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hi Sue, wow, how long ago did you find out about the concert? Gail just posted it... Don't tell me they're actually advertizing in your area? lol Well good for you sweetie, I hope you report back! :) Take care Sue, hope you're doing well. Say hi to Deb for me. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hi Sue, Gail just posted this and I thought you might find it interesting:
March 7 -
Springfield, MA http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/0100453BB5DE8EF4?artistid=734607&...
Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster. I think I might suggest that since he’ll be in Mass, Montreal is only 41 minutes away by plane! Lol Oh Sue, I don’t know if you and Deb saw Michael on “Dancing with the stars”,last Tuesday, I really hope so. Anyway, Payten offered on the “Michael on Dancing With The Stars” thread, that anyone who wants the mp3 of the song he sang, she can E-mail it to them so thought I’d let you know. Take care sweetie and have a great weekend! Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hiya Sue, good to hear from you! I’m doing okay, thanks. Is your sister a fan too or did she just tag along? I’m glad you enjoyed the show so much! How long had it been since you saw him? Last year, he said he’d come back for the next record, but I’m still waiting… Cool you saw his mom and she looked good! To tell you the truth, I’m not sure Taryn is married but she’s apparently ecstatic about the pregnancy and yes, this is the first grandchild. There is a thread about it in “general chat”, I believe. Oh, tell Deb I said hi back! I miss you guys, but I can’t even go to a concert 2 hours away so can’t even think about it… But going back to your concert, can you tell me what songs from the new album he sang? And have you guys bought the “Royal Albert Hall” DVD? And do you have both the U.K. and U.S. versions of the album? Sorry about the 20 questions! Lol Talk to you soon Sue, take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie
Hi Sue! I just read your comment on the blog! Would you have time to post your review of the show on the "the next leg of Michael's tour" thread? Did you go with Deb? How are you both doing? BTW, Michael will be a granddad in October! His youngest daughter Taryn is due a couple of weeks after her birthday! Take care sweetie and hope to have more time to write soon. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hi Sue, sorry I haven’t had the time to write, I’ve been very busy lately. I just checked your page and it doesn’t look like you’ve joined any discussions yet. I just wanted to let you know that maybe you should check the “what’s your favorite single off the new album” discussion. If you post your favorite song, you become eligible to win an autographed poster! You have to hurry though: it ends on July 9th. Break a leg! Take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hi Sue, thanks for the friends request! I just realized you might have recognized me from my pic with Orrin, isn't it great? That one was taken in 2004, the last time I went to CT. Well, I hope to catch up with you and Deb soon. Take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Hi Sue, so good to hear from you! Thanks for your response! I’d been wondering how Deb was doing and if she had any residual effects from her Lyme’s disease. I’ve sent her a Xmas card last year but didn’t get a response. Oh I wish I was going to a concert… Michael came to quebec City (which is 2 hours from here) earlier this year but I couldn’t go. My husband’s been out of work so, the drive would be okay, but no money for lodging. It’s kind of funny writing to you: you were always the quiet one! But I’m so glad you’re on the forum, I love it here! This is the first forum I can actually participate on with my screen-reader program for the blind. My friend Robin, whom you’ve met in 2002 also, she just got on to the forum earlier this week. She’s been recovering from hand surgery. She’s a bit nervous though, there’s so much to learn. Send me a “friends request” and we’ll try to catch up in personal messages! Tell Debbie I said hi and a big hug to you both! Take care. Sylvie from Canada
Hi there, I was checking Michael's blog and came upon your name and read that you're from NH and that you signed "Sue and Deb". Is the Deb you signed for Debbie Ray? I sure hope so, because if you are, it would be nice to get back in touch with you two. I think we may have met at the MBC gala weekend in 2002. Please let me know, thanks! Sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
