Michael has a milestone birthday coming up in February 2018. I ran an idea past Gail that passed with approval. I have small cards that are 2.5X3.5. The idea for the card is not to say happy birthday, but you have room to put a few sentences to tell Michael why you love him, his music or how his music helped you in hard times. It’s should be big enough for a wallet size photo if you would like. Then when he’s home sitting at his desk, he can pull 1 or 2 cards to read when he has the time. Our words will be with him all year. I request a SASE, and I will send you a card. Write your note and put in your picture. When your finished, mail it back to me. You could even send your note on a 2x3 size paper and I’ll attach it to a card. Send your picture to if you like. That would take out the SASE step. For those out of the country, I checked with my postmaster and she said you can put your own postage on the return envelope equivalent to $1.15 US. Email me, Sally, at MYSCRTPSSN@gmail.com and I can give you an address to send your SASE (self addressed stamped envelope). A second option that isn’t as personal, is to email me a short note and I can cut and paste it onto a card for you. I don’t want to handle pictures this way because I’m not that computer literate and don’t want to make errors with something as personal as a picture. Just let me know the option that works best for you. When all the cards are gathered, I’ll put them in some sort of decorate box. And the box of cards will be Michael’s birthday gift from us. It might seem early, but it’s something that we can work on Now through January. I’d like to be finished by February since I would need to get a box and mail it off to Michael. Your welcome to share my email with anyone you think may be interested in contributing to Michael’s milestone 65! Looking forward to hearing from you, Sally
You are so sweet to ask how I am doing with hurricane Irene. I was very lucky! It seemed to weaken a bit when it got midway to New Jersey-down to a tropical storm. We never lost power or got much flood water at all. It was very windy and a lot of rain, and my basement is an inch or two of water-but that's it! Other parts of my state got hit pretty bad so I really lucked out this time. So far no one I know got much terrible damage or hurt. But the US entire East Coast as a whole really did get a lot of damage-billions of dollars. This was a very large and horrid hurricane. I was up all night Saturday worrying and getting supplies ready in case we had to evacuate, but we never did.
Yes, Soul of my Soul is my Gem of a song, my favorite. I know he wrote it for his girls, and it does make me think about my daughter. My only child, we adopted her when she was only a few months old. And she is the best thing that ever happened to us. That song brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. Nothing bad, but it just brings out all the deep feelings of unconditional love I have for her. And when he sings, "There'll come a time when you'll be on your own, But in your heart you're never far from home" I loose it! She is 25 now, still lives home. She'll be moving out soon and when that day comes, I will be a basket case!!
Just noticed your comment on my wall, was from 4 days ago. I didn't get an email about it. Also my mail box is not on my page..............did I mess up my page or is the website acting up? Hope things with you are going well.
OK, wow you've got it bad huh? The Bolton obsession..........yep I know I got it too! So do most of us on this site. I know what you mean about "missing him", after you see a concert you just can't forget about it. We all call it the "Cloud 9" feeling........it goes on for quite awhile. It fades with time, and them you have to go to another concert to get your "fix" again! Being on this site and being able to talk about it with others helps. I am embarrassed to tell anyone else (besides you guys) how much I listen to MB's music. I have 4 mixed CD's of his music in my car, and that is all I play in the car, nothing else. At work I only have the radio, and we all know they play hardly any MB songs. So if I hear 2 a day I consider it a lucky radio day and I run to the radio to turn it up! Of course I have other CD's I like, but I really don't listen to them much.
As far as the Cher thing, I don't know. He got divorced in 1990 and I read him & Cher dated in 1986. But you can't believe what you read on the internet. Who knows, I wouldn't dwell on it.
Regarding your Cher comment. Cher is on all the lists of MB relationships but now I don't think it's true. He wrote songs for Cher and I am sure they were seen together getting a bite to eat or at functions, but I don't think they had a relationship. Watch this:
Sure, dont' you feel good that you wrote a note to Michael and you know he got it? Most fans would love that feeling...knowing he has 1,000's of fans writing him all the time. You have to realize you are not the only fan wanting to have a response directly from him after writing him a note...but put yourself in his place and imagine the overwhelming number he gets....impossible to respond and connect personally to every fan that sends you something....that doesn't mean he is very appreciative because he is!! Gail
Angelica, as I told you in your email. Michael can not respond to all the emails and letters he gets. He appreciates and enjoys reading them all but he can't reply to them...especially now while he is on tour and working on a new album as well. You should feel good about sending a special note to express your feelings but please don't expect him to respond directly to your emails or notes. Gail
