Michael has a milestone birthday coming up in February 2018. I ran an idea past Gail that passed with approval.
I have small cards that are 2.5X3.5. The idea for the card is not to say happy birthday, but you have room to put a few sentences to tell Michael why you love him, his music or how his music helped you in hard times. It’s should be big enough for a wallet size photo if you would like.
Then when he’s home sitting at his desk, he can pull 1 or 2 cards to read when he has the time. Our words will be with him all year.
I request a SASE, and I will send you a card. Write your note and put in your picture. When your finished, mail it back to me.
For those out of the country, I checked with my postmaster and she said you can put your own postage on the return envelope equivalent to $1.15 US.
Email me, Sally, at MYSCRTPSSN@gmail.com and I can give you an address to send your SASE (self addressed stamped envelope).
A second option that isn’t as personal, is to email me a short note and I can cut and paste it onto a card for you. I don’t want to handle pictures this way because I’m not that computer literate and don’t want to make errors with something as personal as a picture.
When all the cards are gathered, I’ll put them in some sort of decorate box. And the box of cards will be Michael’s birthday gift from us.
It might seem early, but it’s something that we can work on Now through January. I’d like to be finished by February since I would need to get a box and mail it off to Michael.
Your welcome to share my email with anyone you think may be interested in contributing to Michael’s milestone 65!
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Sally

Hi Gail, oh I see, I was under the impression Jacalyn was your only child… I’m really glad to hear being with your sons is helping you feel better. I don’t know how close friends you were with Jacalyn’s former helpers, but have you thought of maybe doing some activities with them for a little transition period? It seems to be a big year for change for a lot of moms on the forum with kids leaving the house. My youngest daughter moved out late last year, just too quickly and  I’ve had a hard time dealing with her absence, but I’ve been putting together a den for myself so it keeps me busy. Thank goodness, at least we’re in touch. I know it’ll take time sweetie, but don’t deny yourself the grieving process, so you can wash it out of your system and then move on with the good memories you’ve shared. My sister says that it helps her sometimes to talk to my mom, although she’s been gone for many years. Well anyway, if you need an ear, feel free to share. :D Do keep in touch Gail. Big warm hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada xxx

P.S.: I just wanted to know if you were able to red the personal message I've sent in your forum in-box last week, take care.

Hi Gail, I just wanted to let you know that your comment on
my page has touched  another mother’s
heart. My friend Mary, (Meggy’s mom who uses Meggy’s profile) has read your
comment and wanted to extend her condolences and is keeping you in her prayers.  She herself has an only daughter who’s moving
out, but she realized how deep your heartbreak must be next to ours, because we
still have our daughters. Take good care sweetie and know that angels are
watching over you, God bless. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi again Gail, I forgot to tell you something. Remember the David Foster event I was telling you about in my last message? Well, someone in the audience caught 2 songs Michael did with their I-Phone. Here are the links. First, Michael and Lara Fabian:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhEJzQC0sSo
and Michael with Seal, poor quality sound but wonderful vocals:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9m6JFigN7-o&feature=youtu.be&a
Well hope you enjoy those Gail. I can’t wait to hear it properly on TV or DVD! Take care sweetie and we’ll talk soon. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi Gail, so good to hear from you! I was just talking to my friend Robin from CA about you! She was catching up with messages and she forwarded me the details of Robin Gibb’s surgery and since I didn’t know when it was, I wondered if you would have a concert! Sweetie, my friend Robin was a co-founder of a Bee Gees fan club for the blind! I could give you the link to her page if you’d like. Okay, back to you, well first, I’m really sorry to hear Jacalyn had been sick for so long, poor girl… Is her new doctor a specialist in her type of disease? Good for you having been able to garden. We’ve had our first snowfall here in Quebec on Saturday: enough to cover the cars and lawns, but it had cleared for Halloween. Oh I do know about the Bee Gees, but I didn’t know Robin was touring alone. Does he have a new album out? Barry’s always been my favorite, I love his voice!Oh wow, I’m sure it’ll be fun to get together with old friends for the concert: have a great time Gail! Oh by the way, in case you didn’t know, Michael’s Xmas CD “Home for Christmas” is ready to be pre-ordered from Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk. I’m personally holding out to find out the track listings, because it sounds like there’ll be 2 versions of it. We’re waiting for official word from the admin or Michael himself. Oh and I don’t know if you check the blogs Gail, but Michael’s daughter Taryn had her baby girl on October 12: she named her Amelia Rose, isn’t that pretty? Well I gotta go Gail but it was great hearing from you. Be sure to let me know how your Robin Gibb concert went and your Simply Red one too! Take care and I’ll look forward to hear from you. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi Gail, good to hear from you! Never worry about delays sweetie, people have lives and you’ve got a busy one! I’m sorry to hear Jacalyn was sick again but good to hear she’s better and has a doctor’s appointment. I’m sure you lefdt her in capable hands not to worry. So, how was Simply Red? Front row seats? Good for you! i’m glad Jacalyn’s surgery is only minor. My goodness Gail, how do you juggle it all? Lol Cool you’ll be seeing Robin Gibb. Glad for you it’s getting warmer. Oh I know about water restrictions, it’s either one or the other: we’ve had 2 horrid summers, cool and rainy for the past 2 years and this year was beautiful but very dry. Oh I’m great, thanks for asking! Michael doesn’t come to my area so I go to the opera instead… :D I went to hear “Rigoletto” on Saturday and will be going to the opera gala in December, to support new talent and new productions, it’s a fun evening and I’ve been going 3 or 4 years in a row now. On the Bolton front, Michael is apparently taping a David Foster special this Friday and we’re suspecting he’ll be singing “the prayer” on it! We’ve heard it’ll be a DVD and will most likely be aired on PBS around the holidays. There’s nothing confirmed that I know of, but it’s looking good! Well, sorry for the novel! Lol Take good care of yourself Gail and Jacalyn too and hope to hear from you soon. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

hi sylvie, we are okay had a good weekend. did lots of gardening it was a lovely weather a bit warm on sunday but it was good to have the windows open. a couple of weeks ago a couple stopped by my house while i was outside gardening, i didnt know them but we got talking and i said i was going to get a garden bed that would be suitable for a person in a wheelchair, i gave her some of my plants as she had been looking for them in the nurseries and couldnt find any, any way they left and yesterday they come back with a raised garden bed that the guy had made in his backyard to give to jacalyn(jacalyn was asleep) but was so thrilled when i told her, the couple didnt want anything from us but i told them to come by when i get the garden bed filled with flowers and i will then repay with a gift, there are so many nice people in this world and it certainly made my day. i i have followed mick for about 25 years since they first started, i only got into michael as i was a fan of nicolette and then dicovered how great he is. i dont really have a female singer that i like but it would have to be dolly parton, i love the way that she grew up and she seems like a very genuine person, i was in a bee gees fan club years ago. iwill keep in touch

Hi Gail, oh I have tulips too in spring, yellow and pink ones I think. I can’t see them but I can feel them. Wow, cool Jacalyn is actually friends with your helpers. It’s nice to get out of the house. It’s getting cooler here but I went out to the library yesterday: borrowed 2 CD’s and 2 DVD’s. I go every week and I love it! I borrowed “The bridges of Madison county” that I never took the time to check out and a French opera, can’t wait to watch them! So was your mom okay? Gail, it seems like judges on reality shows think they’re running out of ways to express emotions and are getting a little over-dramatic. I’m glad Michael is putting it all behind him. Oh girl, I put on Michael’s Xmas CD all year round! :D Hmm, interesting that Mick will be with the Small Faces, I didn’t know they were still around. Wow, that’s going to be a very different sound for him, isn’t it? Sounds like you follow him pretty closely! Aside from MB, the only other fan club I’ve been in was Josh Groban’s, but would have loved to be in Olivia Newton-John’s, she’s my favorite female singer. Out of curiosity, who is yours? Well Gail, I’m popular today so I’m off to more messages. Nice to hear from you, take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi Gail, ah good to hear Jacalyn is doing better! What kind of flowers does she like? You were telling me not too long ago that it was still cool but I guess it must have warmed up if you’re planting. Oh yes I know the doctor’s office is the worst place to catch everything! Good to know you have a visiting nurse. Oh I like Simply Red, love the song “Holding back the years”. Is the lead singer going solo? My friend Robin just loves the Gibbs and was co-president of a fan club for a while, with her twin sister called, believe it or not Bari! What are the odds? Lol I love them too. Michael was voted off but this one judge was very rude to him so Michael wanted an apology, but ABC sided with the judge, saying he was just doing his job and there’s a lot of debate about it. I wish he’d just give up and apologize already… Well, at least, we have the finale to look forward to, plus Michael’s new Christmas CD coming out next month! All right, off to flush out more messages. Good hearing from you with good news Gail, take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada P.S.: Enjoy Simply Red!

Hi Gail, it’s none of my business but since Jacalyn has this condition, shouldn’t you be allowed to have a doctor that visits her at home? I can’t imagine what it’s like to spend several months in the hospital at a time. I once spent the summer in the hospital and it’s not fun. Well God bless you for staying with her all this time! Dumb question but when you go out to pay bills and such, can’t you take her with you? Ooh, cool you’re going to a concert, who will you be seeing? Just curious. Well congratulations on the weight loss! I’m glad to hear you’re taking care of yourself. :D The garden you have, is it for flowers and plants or vegetables? Wow, sounds like you like to keep busy. Personally, taking care of my house and family is about all Ican take! Lol Well enjoy your concert Gail, good luck to Jacalyn and keep in touch. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi again Gail, how are you? Well, I hope. Wow, sounds like you have it all covered when it comes to managing all that needs to be done! Yeah, I think we have Body Shops even here in Quebec. Does Jacalyn enjoy her job? Sounds like the company is pretty flexible with work hours, that’s good for her. I’m sure it’s great forher to feel productive too. I have an artist friend who does her own Xmas cards too, her cards are very special. About my arts and crafts, well, I buy music movements and my husband installs them in little wooden boxes, I cover them up with material and then mostly use silky material and sew on flowers, ribbons, beeds etc to complement the music theme, IE: black background and gold and silver beeds with a dark tone of blue for “Strangers in the night” and stuff like that. The only thing is that I drive my family nuts asking for colors because I’m blind! Lol I use a special needle threader. I’ve discovered years ago that sewing relaxes me and I enjoy being creative and making something pretty and I love music too so it’s perfect! I used to love scrapbooking but it’s lost on me now, at least with music boxes, I can feel them. Well Gail, nice talking to you. Hope you have a great weekend. My eldest is coming tomorrow so I’ll be listening to my opera on Sunday instead but it’ll be nice to have her here. Take care Gail. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi Gail, sounds like quite a life your daughter is leading… I can’t imagine what it’s like… Hmm, what kind of job does she have? And is that apart from your small business? Just curious. I’m somewhat crafty myself: I make enclosed music boxes with material. I cover them up and sew on decorations and I love it! Oh, good luck finding a site that you can watch the whole episode of DWTS on! In the meantime you can watch Michael’s dancing performance right here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7BXv2yKWoU
We were lucky enough that someone put it on Youtube! Poor Michael, I’ve just heard he had to postpone a concert because he contracted laryngitis… He’s got a lot going on lately: guess his body decided he should take a break… Well, nice hearing from you Gail, hope you enjoy the video! Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi again Gail, aww, that’s so sweet of Michael! And he recognized her 16 years later, that’s amazing! Oh my goodness, what a horrid disease… If you don’t mind my asking, how does your daughter maintain any kind of strength if she can’t have protein? Being in a wheelchair, is this a side effect of the disease because her muscles are too weak? I’m just curious Gail, I don’t mean to pry. I’m very happy for you both that she has a great personality, some people might just live a bitter life. Wow, God bless her! AboutDWTS, I don’t know where you’ll be watching it from, but just so you know, Michael did a great job for a first time dancer and the judges weren’t too hard on him. We’re all so proud of him for facing his fear and allowing himself to be exposed that way, God bless him too! Well, you and Jacalyn have a super day Gail, we’ll keep in touch! Take care. Big hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
