Hi Dianna, uhm, Eva said we could listen and you said it was a good read, but when I click on it, it just says: "504 gateway timeout"... The internet doesn't seem to like me today! lol It would be nice to hear about Michael's future projects. Can you believe he's already talking about a new albumm? Anyway, let me know if it's just my problem. Thanks! Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi again Dianna, I'm sorry sweetie, all I get is the "504 gateway timeout" and nothing else. Guess it's just my problem. If I'm lucky, there'll be other references to it, thanks. Take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Bolton to present mix of classics and new songs

Of all the foreign singers who introduced Western music to China in the 1980s, Michael Bolton must rate as the most charismatic.

His romantic pop-rock hits such as When A Man Loves A Woman and How Am I Supposed To Live Without You made countless women swoon.

The 57-year-old singer-songwriter launched a world tour on March 7 this year to support his new album, One World One Love. His Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou stops come five years after his first concert in China.

Bolton, who has released 19 albums and sold more than 50 million across the world, will present 22 of his greatest hits as well as his latest music in his upcoming concerts.

He will perform Murder My Heart, which he recorded with Lady Gaga in August 2008 before she rose to stardom.

"I received a call from my record company representative who told me that they had a young artist who was a great songwriter and would soon have her CD released. Her name was Lady Gaga," he explains.

Although he had never heard of her at that time, Bolton was impressed after listening to her Just Dance and saw shades of Madonna.

"I loved what I heard so I said 'let's write'," he says in an e-mail to China Daily. "I wasn't shocked when she became the hottest artist in the world so quickly. Gaga is amazing and constantly reinventing herself and executing her next vision. She's a true artist."

He also worked with Ne-Yo on two songs of his new album - Sign Your Name and The Best. "He's musically so well versed and possesses such a wide range," Bolton says on his official website.

He keeps to a hectic schedule, recording an album every two years and holding about 75 shows a year. This year he will be holding about 110 shows in the US, Indonesia, Australia, China and Europe. And he shows no signs of slowing down, busying himself not just with music but also film-making.

"I do have a bit of a restless personality particularly when it comes to being active mentally and musically but the truth is that I'm now doing what I always dreamed I would do one day, which is to sing and tour the world," he says.

Referring to the tour's title, One World One Love, Bolton says this is a very important time to acknowledge and value everything we have in common as human beings sharing the same planet.

"Music is my way of expressing the 'one love' within all of us," he says.

For Chinese fans, like fans anywhere in the world, Bolton was as much about his trademark long curly hair as he was about his high C and the big hits.

"This is always a funny topic as it was on the international news and TV when I cut it about 14 years ago. I was shocked that it was so newsworthy but I guess my photographs were everywhere during those years," he says.

He has said he will also have a go at jazz at the concerts, although he believes this is a genre that makes him sound unnatural.

Plans for the future include a new album and a musical for Broadway.

"On this trip to China, I will make it my mission to discover the great Chinese vocalists, both male and female. On my next CD, I intend to have duets with artists from all over the world," he says.

Hey Dianna, don't worry about it sweetie. As far as the duets thread goes, it's been moved here by the admin and people have commented on it including Brany, Jennifer and me, check it out! As far as the duets album goes, we've heard bits and pieces so far on Youtube: Anna Tattangelo, Claire De la Fuente, Tony Cetinsky and that other one with Myriam Able from France. Haven't checked for that one on Youtube in a while but you get my drift. I know he's mentionned he wanted to sing with Corinne Bailey Rae, Whitney Houston and in '95, he'd mentionned your favorite Dianna: Céline... Guess it's a case of "stay tuned". Take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

The guy he's singing with has the initials FG and they sang a Sinatra song, think it was "New York New York"...
