Well I was a real trooper and made it into work today!! Got in over an hour late...thanks to the lousy trains...but better late than never!! I'm so glad that this storm is over finally, and am so sorry for the people who were effected badly by it. Hope we've seen the end of Hurricanes for this year!!

HI ALL! JUST WANT TO LET EVERYONE KNOW THAT I AM OK I HAVE NOT CHECK IN BEFORE THE HURRICANE BECAUSE I WAS BUSY GETTING PREPARE FOR IT I LIVE IN LOWER MANHATTAN JUST OUTSIDE THE EVACUATION ZONE I PREPARED TO EVACUATE BUT DID NOT EVERYTHING IS OK HERE NO FLOODING OR POWER OUTAGE I MADE IT TO WORK THIS MORNING AS WELL BUT IT WAS A SLOW DAY I WILL KEEP THE PEOPLE WHO WERE SEVERELY AFFECTED BY THE HURRICANE IN MY PRAYERS

I wanted to let all of you know that my Mom and I got through Irene unscathed. There is more damage in her area then mine but we are both safe and well. I hope that this space is a place that you all feel you can share your concerns or feeling about the way Irene is affecting you

i started the discussion Irene impacts post because i didn't see one I posted it on facebook to MB fans only and twitter so am leaving it up for others who don't know we are talking about Irene so they can find this discussion i will take it down in a few days

Glad to hear you are okay Holly and that your mom is too and it still looks bad for those caught in the aftermath but hopefully it will not be too long before things do return to some form of normality !!
