Just got back from the show : let me tell you it was more than great, amazing : Michael was in very fine voice, joking, speaking words in French. He's so much more relaxed than he was a few years back (I had not seem him Live since the 2005 Albert Hall Shows). The venue was not full but the plus 1000 crowd was very enthousiastic. French people of course, but also some British and Italian fans who had made the trip to Paris.
The show started a 9:00 PM precisely.
Here's the setlist in the right order :

"Go The Distance recorded intro"
1. Soul Provider
2. To Love Somebody (his biggest French hit)
3. Dock Of The Bay
4. SILYBIL
5. Hope It's Too Late (only song from the new C. No Murder My Heart tonight :(...à)
6. You Don't Know Me
7. Summertime
8. They Can't Take That Away From Me (band instrumental)
9. For Once In My Life
10. That's Life
11. New York New York (only 3 three Sinatra tracls. No Fly Me To The Moon)
12. Nessun Dorma (standing ovation here !!!)
13. "You & I" by the great Sax player (his name slips my memory : Michael Lington ?)
14. When A Man Loves A Woman (from the audience)
15. How Can We be Lovers
curiously, Steel Bars was dropped and from HCWBL Michael went strainght into :
16. Time Love & Tenderness
and then straight into a very lengthy (around 10 minutes !!!) and amazing version of :
17. Rock Me Baby (in the middle of the song, Michael presented each band memeber including their full name and hometown, and then said about himself : I'm just a singer from New England !)
then they all gathered center stage to salute
18. 1st Encore : HAISTLWY (with only Brian on piano)

It was 10:30 PM, Michael had been singing for and hour and a half, I tought the show was over. But then Michael said : "shall we call the band back ?"
They all came back, theere a few seconds when Michael was making signs to Steve Milo (his faithful engineer) to tell him wich song he wanted to add and they went into an amazing rendition of :
19. 2nd Encore : Can I Touch You There !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and it was not over yet
20. 3rd and final Encore : Georgia ! Michael gave his all again on this one. It was the best version I had heard in years !!!

After almost 2 hours of amazing performance, it was finally over. What a great show !!! I like the way he's now adding songs after HAISTLWY.
I missed Steel Bars. He did not do GTD or Murder My Heart which have sometimes been part of recent shows, but CITYT was a great surprise and the versions of Rock Me and Georgia were out of this world !!!
All in all, a great great great memory for me, it brought so many memories and gave me the smile for the rest of this week !!!

I found the "new band" to be very tight and professionnal. The new drummer Chad Wright is especially good, and Michael Lington's sax playing is in the league of Kenny G qualitu wise. However, JP Delaire is missed on the right side of the stage. As a result, Bryan Becvar is on acoustic piano, but there's no more Syth/keyboards player. I think this new setting uses more pre-recorded tracks than before. Many of the keyboards, and some of the drums, additionnal horns sounds and backing vocals were clearly pre-recorded tracks that were sent from Protools/Computer by Steve Milo who was hidden at the right side of the stage.
The stage was large, the sound excellent, with Michael's voice muche in the front. I found the visual effects and global look of this show better and more "modern" than it was in the first half of the 2000's.
My pleasure was to see Michael clearly enjoying himself, relaxed, and touched by the audience's response. He seems to be appreciating Paris 'cause he said 'as he had said back in 1993 on his first show here" : "this is an amazing city. We really enjoyed our days off here. If you leave here, you are spoiled because beauty is everywhere". That was before launching into NY NY. Then he said : I don't know if we can make any comparison between Paris and the city this song is about (New York), but if you haven't been there, you should go (by the way, I went to NY twice and loved it. It's clearly my favourite city in the world, right after Paris lol :) !!!)

That's all for now, I just hope it won't take him another 15 years to come back.
Thank You Matthieu! It was so nice to hear that Michael is well! And the setlist...I'm going tomorrow to Hampton court...maybe it's same then?!!
Thanks so much Matthieu for sharing your night with us here.
I can feel the excitement in your post
Sounds like you enjoyed the show as much as we did so that's great!
I too hope he doesn't take too long to tour the world again next time.
I can't wait for another concert here as well lol
Thanks again
Hugs Dianna
