Hi everyone, I’ve never taken part in this thread because listening to music while I’m on the computer keeps me from hearing my screen-reader program properly, but I thought maybe I could share music I enjoy, something I’ve heard today or something that’s been stuck in my head for a while. This song I want to share today is called “Perkiomen” by Daryl Hall with Fitz & the Tantrums:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4tPC1hmH4E
The song is a vintage Hall & Oates song from the 1970’s. It’s named after a town in Pensylvania. I couldn’t find the original on YouTube, but heard this one on the new televised version of the on-line show .Live from Darayl’s house”. It’s a fabulous show where Daryl welcomes mostly contemporary and upcoming artists. My eldest daughter had me hear their “Picking up the pieces” album and I loved it! They have great voices, a great sound and an old school soul feel to their music, hope you enjoy it. Take care all. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
P.S.: I’ve read this entire thread and want to thank you all for sharing your music so far!
Thanks sylvie,
I never thought about that of cause you couldn't listen to music and hear the screen-reader.
Usually if I am on the computer I have music playing.
Thank you Sylvie I enjoyed that very much, I haven't heard of the show but am going to have a listen today
Thanks for joing our thread
I like this thread because if some one writes a song I haven't heard I go looking for it and listen LOL!
It's a great way to apprieciate more singers.
Personally I am not a Lady Gaga lover although I love her voice I think she has a beautiful voice if she sang my sort of music I would own her cd's
I loved her singing with Michael and the new one with Tony Bennett shows just what a beautiful voice she has
Of cause this is my opinion
Thanks again

Hey Dianna, thanks for allowing me to branch out a little, I’m glad you liked the song! You can find episodes of the show on livefromdarylshouse.com, but they do have a YouTube channel too. I don’t watch it every month because I don’t think about it, but if you’d like to check it out, watch for episode 22, if I remember correctly: it was with Smokey Robinson and simply fabulous! I’ve been following H&O since the 70’s but being so close to the subject, I never realized the impact they’d had on young artists, it’s just wonderful to hear! I completely agree about new music discoveries. For me, Michael got the ball rolling for so many artists I never would have considered listening to before. Oh I can’t wait to get the new Tony Bennett CD and I agree Gaga has a great voice and she’s crazy talented. I don’t love all her songs, but I love her energy and the fact that she can sing. Well, before I get off, I’ll share one more for today. This song is from Jason Mraz and his backup guy named Toca Rivera and the song is called “Life is wonderful”:

Just great voices, great lyrics, I just love this song! This is the live version, which I find is much nicer than the studio version. Dianna, I’ll tell ya,although I love Jason’s voice, his backup guy’s voice reminds me so much of Orrin… I’ve heard him by himself though and much prefer Orrin’s voice, but the harmonies with Jason are truly amazing. Well, you be the judge! :D Take care Dianna, goodnight for me and good morning for you! Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Sylvie your so right Great lyrics, great song :)

I'm listening to "Baby, Baby" by Amy Grant. It's a wonderful song...and this is coming from a jazz fan. :)
