Hi,

I went to Yoshi's yesterday to see Craig Chaquico live.  He's an amazing guitarist.  He did some of his newer stuff and some of his older stuff and one of the songs he did live was "Jane".  He brought a singer named Rolf Hartley on stage to sing.  Rolf was amazing.  His vocals were very passionate and soulful. I got to meet both Craig and Rolf and both were really sweet.

Hey Audrey, thanks so much for sharing  about your evening. I had to check YouTube and loved hearing that song again! Here’s a video of Craig Chaquico performing “Jane” with Rolf:

Great song and pretty good performance too. If anyone needs to kickstart their week, click on that link! :D I have a feeling you have another hidden side to you quiet one... ;D Take care sweetie and thanks again for sharing. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Oh Janniche, so good to hear from you sweetie! I don't have time to check out the suggestions tonight, but I will. I'm catching up after computer problems but you're next on my "dance card"! ;D Take care sweetie, I'm glad you're doing your best at school. BTW, your Norwegian guys, do they sing in English? Just checking. Anyway, I'll PM you very soon. Big warm hugs from cool Canada, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada xxx

Thanks for links Janniche and I certainly am going to save this page and come in and listen to and hopefully have a laugh for I am sure if you find them funny I will too....just a little something tells me that !!! LOL   Thanks for the links Janniche and as I said to you over in the photo thread proud of you sweetheart that you are doing so well at school and by the way you are telling us it certainly sounds that you are enjoying it too - that comes over in your words - and I am so pleased for you and as I said we will be waiting for you to come back in when you are ready......yeah and just you remember "old granny" is still fighting fit to get to Norway before you escape over whatever border you are going to try and go to to hide from that last bit of cheek I took...oh Janniche, I still laugh at all of that so I for one am sure looking forward to you getting back on, possibly over holidays, but I must say I was pleased to see that you have now come down to just calling me "missy" even though I was getting a telling off .....much more acceptable !!!!! LOL.

Sylvia.  Your wee Scottish friend.

You really are walking on that thin line Janniche and I think you are just about to cross over......now we are back to "granny" and "old people" well let me tell you I thoroughly enjoyed Ylvis and was ROFL at most of it and I would love to see Michael doing a skit like that especially at the bit about the  4.5 skin balance - could just see MB doing that and especially the part in the tub too for that was hysterical  !!   Really did like them and I think I will look on youtube for more of their stuff - thanks for the heads up about them Janniche, cheeky little monkey that you are.....and in any case what are you doing back on this computer just you get on with your homework and your studying or I will be paying a visit to Norway to have a word with you...now do as your told and that is definitely Granny talking !!!!!   LOL.

Sylvia.   Your wee Scottish friendly granny !!! LOL.

I will knit you a scarf and come and wrap it round your neck if we have any more cheek from you about us "oldies" for I have news for you I loved all your videos and I don't know about nearly wetting yourself for I was awfully near it and then I decided to watch the Calle Bader videos and I got to the one with him and the penguins and I had to go to the loo or I would have had an accident .....that guy has some nerve and some sense of humour but I must admit i would love to see Michael doing the kindergarten one with the little "panda" and I wonder who would be up for giving that a little squeeze !!! LOL

You know Janniche I wouldn't be surprised if we get marched off of this thread very quickly if we do not stop our nonsense so will you behave yourself and stop leading me astray with all these "questionable" videos that you are putting on here !!! LOL

Michael should consider doing a skit with those three but could you imagine if they got together with The Lonely Island what just might materialize - it would certainly be fun !!!!! LOL.

Sylvia.  Your wee Scottish rocking and rolling Granny !!!! LOL.

Hi Janniche, OMG, I’ve checked out Ylvis and they’re not bad at all! I enjoyed “work it” minus the auto-tune and really loved the full rock sound of “Stonehenge” but might have appreciated them more in Norwegian! Lol Musically speaking, they sound great and actually have nice voices. Thanks for sharing sweetie! Take care my sweet friend  and best of luck with school! Big hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

I have some catching up to do but I am listening to Christina Perry "Arms"

here it is on youtube

Love this song

Love Dianna xxx

Hey Dianna, Christina’s song sounds really good. Her voice reminds me of this girl Drew on “The X Factor U.S.A”.:

I have to say she’s not my cup of tea, but as I’ve said, Christina’s song sounds good, thanks for sharing sweetie, take care and happy catching up. :D Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

I like it Sylvie and you are so right, Drew does sound like Christina :)

Hi everyone, I was listening to Tony Bennett’s new “Duets 2” CD yesterday and know that a lot of you might have heard his duet with Lady Gaga, but if you haven’t had the good fortune to hear the entire album, I’d like to share this other duet with you. It’s Tony’s duet with Josh Groban called: “This is all I ask” and it’s absolutely gorgeous:

I’ve discovered Tony’s music only in the past few years, but I’m so glad: at 85 years old, he’s the greatest! And I’ve always loved Josh’s voice, but wow, the way he sings this one is simply magical, hope you check it out.

Well now, while I’m at it, I think I’ll share another one. This one is another Tony Bennett song, but I've realized only a couple of years ago that it was Tony’s. This is the version that introduced me to it and although I love Tony’s rendition, this is the definitive one for me. The song is called: “How do you keep the music playing” by James Ingram and Patti Austin:

There’s something  that’s just inexplicably perfect about this version, I think... Well, thanks everyone for indulging me and hope you do enjoy. Take care and hugs to all, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi everyone, I was doddling on YouTube and decided to share this song with you all. This is one of the coolest covers ever. I already loved the original “1979” song by the Smashing Pumkins, even though I can’t say I’m a huge fan of theirs, but this version is just the greatest:

It’s sung by one of my favourite Canadian bands Jacksoul and sadly, the lead singer Haydain Neale passed just a little over 2 years ago but left great albums with his wonderful voice. Oh chute, while I’m at it, this is Jacksoul’s rendition of “High and dry”:

It’s soulfully delicious! I really hope you’ll give it a listen. Take care and hugs to all, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
