The passing of Lucio Dalla

Italian singer and songwriter Lucio Dalla suffered a heart attack yesterday in Switzerland. He would have been 69 on March 4. Years ago, Michael had performed Lucio's most famous song "Caruso" live, and you can see Lucio sitting in the audience.

I thought I'd share this sad news with all of you. I have left a message on Michael's FB page, so hopefully someone will inform Michael, in case he wants to post something or send condolences to Lucio's family. Lucio is to be buried in his hometown of Bologna, Italy on his Birthday.

I saw Lucio years ago here in New York. Loved his concert and I met him briefly and got his autograph. I am shock of his passing. He was at the Festival of San Remo just over a week or so ago, and he looked fine and he sounded fine too!!! I will always admire him and will miss him.....

I’m sorry to hear of his passing. I love the song “Caruso” and have it by my buddy Luciano and by Josh Groban too. Josh's version is suggested on the page with Michael's video. Now here’s a historical duet: Lucio sings it with Luciano:

As you say Helena so sad that Lucio has passed away but he certainly will never be forgotten for what he gave to the music world and especially "Caruso" an absolutely beautiful composition !! :)

Today was Lucio's funeral. Many famous Italian singers were there to pay their respects. All of the Soccer Stadiums had tributes to him as well, especially in his hometown of Bologna.
