lol That's fantastic Sylvia, tell Helena congratulations for me! Wow, she really got into baking this year, didn't she? That's really cool, thanks for sharing Sylvia, take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Will pass good wishes onto her Sylvie and maybe, just maybe she may pop over here herself but believe right now she is busy with the kids for with them having time off school and storm away nothing is going to stop them from celebrating Halloween and she had had to pop out to shops to buy stuff because she hadn't bothered thinking everything would be cancelled and no one would bother......never underestimate kids for you will never keep them down for long !!!! LOL.   Also news announced that the New York Halloween Parade will not be cancelled only put back to another day....either this Saturday or next......yeah, don't let a little storm stop you from doing what you want !!!!! lol.

Thanks for posting the story and photo, Sylvia, puts a big smile on my face. Someone has been having a yummy good time after Helena's hardwork for sure, lol......

Congrats to Helena!!!!!

Kathy T. :-)

She was going to bake them all to take into her office for Halloween but then when Sandy hit she still went on and baked but then didn't know what to do with them all.....still don't know if she has managed to eat half or not !!! LOL    I told her to throw a plate over the pond but so far I haven't seen it going past and I do keep looking out the window to catch it when it comes this way and only trouble is too she is still off work tomorrow for no transport into Manhattan and she was told today, her office still has no power so no chance to take the cakes in yet !!! lol.

Hey Sylvia, at least she has power so she can freeze them and take them to the office when it's open. How many did she make anyway? I'm sure it's too much for just  her and her  family. Tell her to send some my way: it's not as far! lol Take care Sylvia. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Very lucky children Helena has, a very Happy Halloween to them all, too!!!!!!!

Hugs,

Kathy T. ;-)

Helena hasn't any kids of her own what I meant was that she had started to see children in her neighbourhood out for Halloween and was going out to get stuff in case any knocked on her door.....sorry for being misleading Kathy for I was really using the word "kids" in a general way.

Sylvie I don't know exactly how many she baked but by her pictures there are trays and trays and trays and.................!!! LOL   They are all so fancy too for she has little standing up sticker things with "trick or treat" on them and others with smiley pumpkin faces and plastic spiders and little cookies stuck  with "RIP" iced on some and most have black icing squiggly lines which look like cobwebs on top of them and really when you consider how she started last year and what she made then, for there is no comparison because what she has done now could be sold in a shop and no wonder she won the competition for this week  !! :)

Thanks Sylvia!!!   Sorry it took me so long to respond.....but you know me!!!   Thanks Sylvie and everyone else for your compliments!!!   It was nice to be "Foodie of the Week".... and I was also "Fan of the Week" on Wolfgang Puck's Facebook Page!!!   Thanks to David Venable and Wolfgang for choosing me, it was an honor!!   It was fun making these cupcakes, and I was so happy when I finally brought them to work for my co-workers!!  Everyone loved them!!!  I may consider baking Christmas cookies later on, but will see how busy I am.....

Thanks again!!  :)

Helena  xx

PS - Oh by the way, I did not win a trip to the QVC studio or any prizes.  It was just having my photo on David's page for one week, and that was it.  I did go to the studio for a visit, but did not have the chance to meet David since he was working live on air.  I saw him from a distance, and that was nice.....

Hey Helena, so good to read you post here girlfriend! You really got seriously into baking this year, didn’t you? So you didn’t win any prize but you got your 15 minutes of fame! Lol I hope all is well for you and your family sweetie. Wish we’d hear from you more often though... Well anyway, thanks for coming in and sharing sweetie. Take care Helena. Big hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada :D
