Miscellany but exceptionally relevant information about, or from Michael on, MB.

Thought I would start this thread for there does appear, at times, to be different relevant articles, tweets, retweets, pictures etc relating to Michael but not really fitting into an already recognized thread nor, each of them individually, being able to be grouped together where a relevant thread could be started and so decided on this "Miscellany" thread.

I hope you agree with its relevance and that you enjoy everything that is put in as well as hoping that many will find interesting tidbits about Michael that can be included and help to make this, whilst a serious sharing of information, a FUN page to be able to visit too and, as is my intention, somewhere that everything which does not have a particular "home" can be placed, so that is all grouped together and can be easily found and located if someone wants to look at.

Here now, so that we can all focus on the main reason for this thread, is a beautiful picture of the "Theme" of the thread.......wonder if MB has ever been called that before ???? LOL.

Believe this one definitely belongs in here for I would say sharing with us that coconut sorbet is his favourite dessert is both miscellaneous and more than extremely relevant to the "THEME" of this website and in particular, to this thread  !! LOL.

Hope everyone enjoys content and feels free to add their very own miscellany !!! :)

My Bad I think Miguel was a mentor on the voice either this or last season. the mentors work with the coaches and contestants in the battle rounds I think. Sorry for the misinformation.

I'm a regular listener to the Steve Price Rock Show on ARfm (6-9pm UK time, 1-4pm EST, Sat & Sun), and both Steve and the show's producer, Sue, are fans of Michael, and play his music frequently :)  Of course, with this being a Rock show, it's mostly Michael's songs from the 80s that they play, but they did play Steel Bars for me.  It's a great show if you're a fan of Melodic Rock!

WOW Cheval thanks a million for putting that on here....oh, thank you !!! :)   It's quite fantastic hearing that coming over the airwaves and how I wish he would consider putting one like that into the set list......how I wish !!!! :)

Thanks again Cheval and nice to see you on here too and don't be a stranger !!! :)

Hope also, if you are still in Kentucky, that you weren't affected too much by the storms !!!

Here is one of the best interviews I've read in a long time. So many new questions!

'I diet when there's a photoshoot for an album': Under the microscope with singer and songwriter Michael Bolton

By YVONNE SWANN

Singer and songwriter Michael Bolton, 60, answers our health quiz.

How fit are you?

I’ve always loved sports, especially baseball and [American] football. I try to work out four days a week when I’m on the road, using hotel gyms, and I play tennis.

Get your five a day?

I’ve been a vegetarian for 42 years, so yes. I used to love meat, especially double cheeseburgers, but decided I didn’t want to ingest saturated fat or the hormones used in cows. I love pasta, pizza and ice-cream, but too much sweet dairy induces catarrh and affects my voice.

Pop any pills?

I take vitamin C daily, which helps with jet lag, and I travel with 100 per cent vegetarian multi-vitamins in case I feel run down. I have regular medicals - once, I was low on iron and another time in B12. I adjusted my diet, took vitamins and that never happened again.

Had anything removed?

I tore a ligament in my knee when skiing 20 years ago. It was reconnected in hospital, and then there were months of physio. I used to manage and play in a semi-pro baseball team so needed to get back to running in nine months, and I did - but never went skiing again.

Ever dieted?

I’m 5ft 11ins and try to stay around 12st. I diet when there’s a photoshoot for an album or a poster or before a tour. Any time a camera is on I feel I have to lose a few pounds.

Worst illness?

Shortly after my knee problem I developed a benign nodule  on a vocal cord. I was touring the UK and found I couldn’t reach a certain high note, so saw a doctor. The nodule was very low down and the fear was the operation would leave scar tissue, which could ruin my voice. Resting my voice for three months afterwards was terrifying,  but the operation went well and eventually I was hitting high notes better than before.

Any family ailments?

My mother is a fit 94, but my wonderful father died in his 60s. He ate a lot of meat, which clogged up his arteries and was a heavy smoker. He had a quadruple heart bypass and lost the use of one lung, and he died from heart and lung failure.

Would you ever have plastic surgery?

I haven’t so far. I live in Beverly Hills - a place where Robin Williams says everyone looks as if they’re surprised to see you! I won’t say never, but my relatives all look younger than they are.

Cope well with pain?

No, because I want to get rid of anything that restricts my sense of youth and movement. I see a chiropractor to avoid stiffness or pain anywhere.

Like to live for ever?

We’re all created from something that has no beginning and no end. I don’t know that I need to live in my body forever, but I believe the soul is infinite.

This is a cool interview. Very different. Thanks Gail.

Go Michael. Love the article. Hmm. If I read this article right, Michael being @ 12 stones, he's about 168-182--probably the lower of the stone there. isn't it 14 pounds in a stone, my brits friends out here? :)))))))) I've never been to a kiropractor. Have to admit, I eat meat&hello? Had a burger the other day. Oops. my bad, huh. :)))))) I'm a vitamin C. person myself but not a good vegetarian though. I do eat fruits&veggies--those I like. :) 5 11, huh? :)
