I cannot believe it's been 9 years ago today that 9/11 happened here.  I will never forget that day and where I was.  Being sent home early from my State job was a very strange thing and to watch the Twin Towers fall, the fire burn in the Pentagon and then to hear of the 4th plane coming down in a field in Shanksville, PA (later thanks to the brave heros (passengers) that fought to take it down in a rural area...What a truly sad time for this country. Living in the middle of the places these 3 things happened was quite scary for a while that day, not knowing if more planes were going to crash or what was really going on.

Just wanted to remember the people who lost their lives that day. I pray it never happens again!

God Bless the USA!  They cannot take us down!  They just make us stronger as a country!!!!!

Sending love and prayers to all who have lost loved ones in 9/11 .xx
Hi Robin, yes we all remember where we were when we heard the news. I remember I had to stop listening to the news after a while because I was weighed down by trying to come to terms with the feeling of my family being attacked… It was just so hard for me to take stories like the courage of firefighters writing their social insurance numbers on their arm before going into battle so to speak, so they could be identified, in case… But also, on the other hand, I cherished stories like a person standing at ground zero with a sign they put up that said:”Free hugs”… Only in times like these that are so debilitating that you see the triumph of the human spirit. I’d like to share something with everyone. Hope you all enjoy it. Take care and have a fabulous day! Big hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
Subject: Every day annoyances
"You Are Where God Wants You To Be"
Next time your morning seems to be going wrong and
the kids are slow getting dressed and you can't seem
to find the car keys and you hit every traffic
light, don't get mad or frustrated; praise God
instead, because God is at work watching over you.
After Sept. 11, I happened to call a man on
business whom I didn't know and haven't nor will
probably ever talk to again. But on this particular
day, he felt like talking. He was the head of
security for a company that had invited the
remaining members of another company who had been
decimated by the attack on the Twin Towers to share
their office space.
With his voice full of awe he told me stories of
why these people were alive and their counterparts
no longer were. In the end, all the stories were
just about little things that happen to us.
You might know, the head of the company got in
late that day because his son started kindergarten.
Another fellow was alive because it was his turn
to bring donuts. There were other stories that I
hope and pray will someday be gathered and put in a
book.
The one that struck me was the man who put on a
new pair of shoes that morning, took the various
means to get to work but before he got there, he
developed a blister on his foot. He stopped at a
drugstore to buy a Band-Aid. That is why he is alive
today.
Now when I am stuck in traffic, miss an elevator,
turn back to answer a ringing telephone... all the
little things that annoy me... I think to myself,
this is exactly where God wants me to be at this
very moment.
May God continue to bless you with all those
annoying little things.
I love this.... amazing to think, like the film sliding doors, shows 2 versions of events when gweneth paltrow gets on the train, and then misses the train...... if you know what l mean, if you have seen the film, you will know what l mean! lol

In London it has been on various channels all day.... l have watched as l did all those years ago when it felt like l was watching an action movie and hoping an actor l recognised would come onto the screen, as much as you didn't want to watch... you were glued to the tv set cos you could not believe what you were witnessing. I was on holiday at the time in a log cabin..... u always remember where you were. My prayers go out to all those who have lost a loved one, and to those who surivived whoose lives will never be the same... God Bless you all.

Take Care
Carol (London)
I cannot believe it's been 9 years either, Robin. It seems like yesterday that I flew home from an MB concert in Atlanta and then a day later it happened. Everyone I knew was terrified that morning. How sad for this country. I truly understand how you felt living in the middle of it all since I did too. The country was united after that and itt was awesome how everyone came together. I also want to remember the families that lost loved ones that day. God Bless them all and God Bless America!

I still remember the feeling I had that day... and how I lived all.
All the love to my second more loved country in the world. =)
My heart has felt heavy,
and my mood very low,
my head full of questions,
for answers no one will know.

My eyes gently crying
a solitary tear,
remember those we lost that day,
those whose memorys held dear.

A lesson to learn,
from a sad story told,
we will never forget you
as we all grow old.

As I close my eyes,
and whisper my prayer,
I ask for peace everlasting,
and to end all despair.

My heart, thoughts and prayers are for everyone affected by the September 11th attacks and all atrocities around the world.

Let the be peace, love and understanding.

Love Jennifer XX

My thoughts and prayers are will everyone who lost a loved one and to all the men in the military, police and Emergency worker!!! I remember that day like yesterday! I work at school and we tried to keep the day normal which we really couldn't do. I had many kids come up to me and say" Mrs. P my dad or mom works in the towers I need to try and call. We have many parents of students that were firefighters in school! We have the most city firefighters and police officers living in this town and surrounding. Because its the farthest away they can live from the city. We couldn't get through to parents of students by landline so we all pooled out cell phones and call everyone we could. Children were not allowed to leave school til a parent or guardian picked them up. We in this town was under a state of Emergency and buses were not alone and we couldn;t sent some home to an empty house. I the whole day had to stay calm which was so hard my son a marine was flown off somewhere to son country. My daughter in law was beside herself she had been able to earlier to get through to me and tell me , But the question was were would they send them?? We had all kids picked up at 5pm and could leave school. I can't imagine a worse day and it was like it never ended. My kids were all home when I got home and later found out that Shaun my Marine was sent on a special mission and was gone 3 days. All he could say was they went looking for someone. We lost 2 former students who were there on the seen, kids I worked with and lost many friends and neighbors! We went to memorial service after service and funerals. They all became the norm. We cried as a community for people we loved and the people we didn't know. It took alone lone time to get bak to living normal if thats what you call it!
Today I prayed for the family who lost loved ones! And thank God I live in America were you know it will never take us down and I only brought all Americans together and made us even Stronger!!

Love Eileen xoxo
We miss you Chris!!!!

Hi all, my friend just forwarded me this and although I can’t appreciate it, I thought you might…

“YOU MUST WATCH THIS....... NOT WHAT I EXPECTED TO SEE. VERY MOVING AND SHORT.....
This is the commercial spot Budweiser produced after 9-11. They only aired
it once so as not to benefit financially from it - they just wanted to
acknowledge the tragic event. Wow.
