Welcome everyone to the 2017 Tour Review Thread!   The upcoming year is going to be exciting with concerts scheduled already for 2017!!  MB has some USA shows starting off the year in January and more shows through early April so far and I’m sure many more to come around the globe as the year unfolds!  Also exciting for 2017 is the February 10th release of Songs of Cinema and I am betting a few more songs from the CD will make it in the tour setlist!  Woo Hoo!  This is the best time to be a fan with MB’s concerts and we may have a Michael Bolton Charities event later in the year, we never know. Michael has multiple projects in the works and he is good at keeping us guessing. I appreciate the opportunity to start a new thread once again for 2017 to give us all a place to share the best part of being a fan--- experiencing Michael in person doing what he does best-SING!!!!!!

I am looking forward to another fun year of posts and sharing great times by the best Michael Bolton fans in the world on this forum. I will post events to keep the thread moving along as the concerts come up as I have in the past.

Let the year long concert party begin and I wish concerts for all of you in 2017!! I know many fans are on other social media sites but I do hope we can continue with the exciting tour reviews here in 2017!  You all make the thread fun.

Happy Concert Time again in 2017!!

How many times now have you had your photo taken with Michael? No doubt the press will soon cotton on, and you will be dubbed Michael's new mystery companion. But we know who you are...;0)

Seriously, so pleased you had another special Michael moment, to keep you warm throughout the coming months, till he turns up on our shores agaiin. I do wish he'll stay a bit longer, next time, this was such a fleeting visit.

As soon as I heard the news about Michael Bolton playing at Upton House music festival, I had to get tickets. My Bolton travel buddy (my daughter Tina) said she could not attend due to work related reasons, oh no panic what was I going to do?? Take a deep breath and think...It took me a few weeks but decided I could do this journey and festival on my own, so jumped online and purchased a ticket in the gold circle (seated area) and thought I'll be fine sat there alone. As the date got nearer my excitement was increasing, but the thought of driving to the bottom of U.K from way up north prayed on my mind. I made up my mind that 350 miles was not going to come between me and Michael Bolton, so i set off to Poole Dorset in my car knowing i was an experienced driver and I could do this....

An hour down the road and the heavens opened with torrential rain on motorway, driving conditions were dangerous and i thought to myself what the heck am i doing this for. I remembered quickly, for the love of MB and his music,Visability was so bad at one point, down to a few yards and three lanes often coming to a standstill. Decided to keep safe, and kept pullimg into service stations for food and coffee!!!! .After a very tiring nine hour journey, that should of taken three hours less I arrived in Poole..

At this point I'll tell you the roads in Poole are a nightmare to get around, and lost count of the endless roundabouts with at least 5~6 exits leading off from each one, Even with a sat nav it was so scary. I parked up my vehicle and checked into hotel and sighed a sigh of relief. It was on my mind that Sylvia  was traveling down on the west side of the country, and was hoping she'd arrived safe too. I messaged her and we agreed to meet up the next day, as staying in different hotels.I took a taxi over to her hotel where she also told me about her nightmare journey down. We decided to go over and check out Upton House where the concert was being held, Sylvia drove and i helped navigate and together we were more confident of this place called Poole. We had a look around, saw the stage setting and it looked beautiful in the park. Popped into the tearooms for a pot of Devon tea. Now I know Sylvia has told you about hearing soundcheck going on for the Friday night and being able to watch was unbelievable. As she said It's very true that we were kinda dissapointed that Billy Ocean was appearing and we would'nt get to see him, so yep we only went and could get tickets and were estatic woohoo!!! We had a fantastic night and couldnt wait to get back there for Michal Bolton's show Saturday....

We made our way over to Upton House Saturday lunchtime to avoid the mad rush, security was at its highest after the recent terror attacks.Stood on the house lawn, suddenly there was a shout from a girl called Sandra who had recognized Sylvia as they had previously met, It was wonderful meeting her and her husband, both Bolton fans and seeing the real person instead of just a profile pic!! Just then MB's band came out on stage and did their soundcheck, it was so cool because we partied and had so much fun singing and dancing along,...

Both Sylvia and Margaret have done such fantastic reviews already, and i don't want to repeat everything they mentioned, I did have a ticket for row 12 but what Sylvia has told you is what really happened and I couldn't believe my luck being upgraded to row 2!!! Enjoyed support act Keeny Thomas, but when MB and band walked out on that stage it was just the most amazing atmosphere.Skip a bit here as Margaret has already told you the order of songs, but i have to say opening with Stand By Me,and hearing I've Got A Woman plus Sweet Home Chicargo was the bestest along with many of the favourite hits....I just didn't want the night to end,as having a blast and seeing so many fans/friends enjoying themselves so much.Unfortunately the concert came to a close, and Sylvia had to do her M&G....Ruki appeared on stage and it was lovely to see her chat and get a picture with her, she didn't like the idea of being left in a dark park alone but said to her i'd be ok. Then Jason appeared and it was fantastic to chat with him too, and get the pic I'd wanted since last tour.

Now this is where it all became a blur, as suddenly I found myself shaking hands with Michael and a quick few words before he left. It proved to me what a kind hearted human being he really is, and does go out of his way to please fans. I kinda call it right place, right time...I respect Michael and each and every member of his band and crew, and keep conversations between us to myself.Oh what a night, an amazing night, another one I'll never forget!!!

Can't wait until the U.K tour now next year, as MB and band were phenomenal as usual, and I'm one of the ones that loves Jason's sax solos.Love the way Michael gives each of them chance to show their talents and Sam Fly sang her duets perfectly....

Hope this gives you a good idea about my adventure to Poole, I'd do it all again in a heartbeat!!!

Many thanks to Sylvia, who was inspirational to me, if i hadn't met up with her my nerves would of been shredded to pieces lol,,,,

A dry good run back to Newcastle on the Sunday, plus a safe journey ended this perfect adventure in me being extremely happy!!!

Ann (Newcastle)

Terrific review Ann and thanks so much for coming in but there is just one point I'm confused about .........."I'd do it all again in a heartbeat" ????????  WHAT, go to POOLE ????  By time you would drive back down there they will have built another million roundabouts, you'll be spinning round quicker than a carousel at a fairground !!!!! LOL  I'd go back down in a heartbeat if Michael was going to do a concert in the Premier Inn car park because I know how to get there now !!! lol

Thanks again Ann for coming in and hope we definitely meet up again, somewhere, during UK Tour 2018.......yeah, bring it ON !!!!! lol

It was easy for me to say Sylvia that 'I'd go back in a heartbeat,' because I don't think MB will ever be back in Poole again lol do you?? I'm thinking also instead of them putting more roundabouts in, they may consider taking some out!!!! LOL

Concert in the Premier Inn car park haha, certainly not as it should be held in the Holiday Inn,,,Then I wouldn't need taxis to travel 2.1 miles along a dual carriageway and have to tackle those millon roundabouts even though sat nav said it was within walking distance!!!!! OMG how funny was that??

We'll meet again, don't know where or when yet, but I'm sure It'll be at venues on the next U.K tour in 2018!!!!! If we can outsmart Poole, just think of our city/town options as no need to feel afraid of any place!!!! Lol
