Hi Robin, sounds like you’ve had one heck of a show! I’m really glad if you want to come back and share more but that was a great start, thanks! Michael had said in an interview that doing so many shows was like being in training: his voice is flexing constantly so no wonder he sounds so good! Can’t wait to hear more, thanks for sharing Robin! Take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Jennifer, Thanks!! I was right up there in the front! It was amazing ! I did get Rock Me Baby on video but need to figure out how to get it off my phone! Robin said it all I've followed Michael for 30 years now even before he was who he is now! Been to more concerts then I can count! And last night it was like a magical trip with Michael!! And I'm still the amazed dazed fan I was when I first saw him over 25 years ago!!! He was so at ease and you could see he was truely enjoying himself up there. Like I said before he has a voice of pure gold! He Was beyond perfect if thats at all possible! I am thinking that if he does do a show in the UK next year and all the girls are going I will take them up on there offer and come and go along with all of you I know that would be amazing!!! Sharon I really wish you all could have come to the concert with me here but I know you all will have an amazing time at your concerts in Dublin and the UK. I wish you could have been here to Jennifer Sharon and Juliet and Catherine made this week an unforgettable and Phenomal week ending with a fantastic musical journey with Michael ! Oh, cool Eileen. I'm glad for you. Did you see Michael in 1983 when he opened for Bob Seger. I almost did but people renaiged on me--you know backed out on me. That's what happens when one depends on someone. I vaued never again&I didn't. I'm glad for you. Can't wait to hear the music. Good luck with it all.

WARNING LONG POST-I don't usually write this much but this concert was extra special, I had to share! I hope you read it and understand even a little bit how it felt being there..Michael took us in an amazing musical journey last night, the audience was truly having a great time!!!

Where to begin. I have traveled to see MB quite a lot over the years and I’ve seen between 90 and 100 concerts during that time and this one is up there as one of my most favorite ones of all I've ever seen!!! No kidding!!. Same for my two Bolton Buddies that have seen many, many shows like I have..The three of us all felt this was a rejuvenated Michael, a Michael that was ready to just go out there and give more of himself every night than before. He said that after the DWTS experience and he’s truly doing what he said…He’s made believers out of the 3 of us after last night!!OMG! We were three amazed, dazed fans after the show!!LOL

When I got to the seats after getting the tour books I needed I saw the steps smack in front of us for MB to get to the stage and thought, this is good but also bad, we want to stand at that spot and cannot now but it worked out ok later. I was hoping I could take pictures and they did allow it thankfully! Everyone took what they wanted all night!!! WHEW!

Joe Piscopo did a great job talking about the Boys/Girls Clubs of NJ and explained what they did and gave a little presentation. He was not boring and fun to listen to. He loves those kids. Then a young lady told her story and how the NJ B/G Clubs helped her in her life. After that two kinds sang and an award was given to a bank sponsor etc.. The presentation was really nice and we all 3 enjoyed it.

Not long after that part of the program was done the lights stayed down and the recording of Go The Distance started.
Once Michael started to sing Soul Provider, the tone and power of his voice was just incredible from the first note!! My friend and I were looking at each other, like we both noticed it. His voice has always been great, we just noticed things have been taken up a notch since the last time we saw the show in March. The band, I have to say, was incredible too. We miss the old band, always will, that being said; what a difference between then and now for us seeing/hearing the newer band!!WOW!! They are now in a groove, very tight and very together. Whatever blend/mix they have going now with the music/layering etc..is perfect!!!!! We got to chat with Michael Lington earlier before things got started out by the box office while waiting for a friend. He is one of the nicest fellows you will ever meet and he’s enjoying the time on tour with MB. I said we were glad he was still on tour with MB and thought he wasn’t to be there for a long stretch. He said things changed and he and MB get along well, the music is going well so he’s still with Michael. He is really enjoying it and we were glad to get to see/hear him again too. He didn’t disappoint either, OMG that man can play the sax..
We bought his CD too and after the show we saw him and he signed them for us. It was a pleasure to talk with him.

Michael was funny, he saw us on the left side up in the front row when he came by the first time during Soul Provider and gave us 3 a big smile. I smiled and did a little wave at him..LOL It was like, there the 3 of them are again!!:)
During another part of the show he was talking with the audience and introducing a song and talked about how this song he used to sing back in clubs years ago and looked at all of us and said “how many years ago?” and we said 10-12 years ago.. He then looked back over and said to us “I love you too!” and then to the audience, see I told you I have people strategically seated in the audience!! I think he was glad we didn’t make it sound like he was old!!LOL He said he sang it many years ago or something like that!!LOL
He caught us off guard and we just said that as we remember him saying that before at shows..We have his comments memorized to some degree and earlier we were mouthing what he said some and we think he caught us!!LOL OOOPS!

He was just a happy man on stage and you could tell. He had some small gestures and things we noticed too he didn’t do before. He was playful with the audience and chatty.

Nessun Dorma has given me chills before performed live and last night I felt the strength of his voice and the power cut right through me. We were looking at each other like OH MY GOD!! And of course gave him the standing ovation.. The audience loved it!!!!!! How could they not! There was nothing being held back!!

The going to the stage thing was a little tricky as the steps were right where we wanted to go. We had to stand up and get our purses out of the way and stand back so the security could get MB up there past us, we were only about 1 foot away from the portable steps. But luckily once they got MB up Tim told us we could go, I went to the side closer to center, no one was in that end seat and I wasn’t blocking anyone and my friends went to the left of the steps. Well I got up there and the people sitting in the center were looking puzzled and I told them to come up, it’s a part of the show, the front row can come to the stage and Tim was there then behind me waving them up. The kids from the Boys/Girls Clubs were so thrilled. One young lady that spoke earlier about her life and now is a college student and how the Boys/Girls Club had been a positive factor in her life, she was beside me and I could see she was thrilled. MB gave them lots of attention too..Everyone just filled up front then, my one friend was over with me and the other by the steps too..We were happy clams!!!LOL I bet it was hilarious from MB’s view on stage, us all jockeying for position and moving to get settled in at the stage!!LOL We must look hilarious. We were all about getting the spots we wanted!!LOL We miss a few lines of WAMLAW every time getting situated!!LOL Then my fav song of all time, How Can We Be Lovers was next and I fell in love with that one live my very first show years ago.. He came by and did hand touches and held mine a few seconds and smiled as he went by.. He was really great with that in general and touched many hands last night. He saw my friend on down and did same with her later on. He was paying close attention to the fans as my other friend beside me said something like woo hoo, nothing real loud once and he looked and grinned right at her!!LOL He wasn’t missing anything going on, he was like that with lots of folks down front during the 2nd half at the stage..Truly he was not missing a beat!!LOL Nothing better than rocking out at the stage at one of MB’s shows and him 3 feet away!!!

After TLT was over and he said thank you and walked off, we were PRAYING FOR ROCK ME and the crowd was loud, well to the left of the stage, I could see MB standing partially behind the curtain with the guitar on!!YES!!!!!! He started playing back there and slowly walked out, OMG! Kill me now!! It was the long version of ROCK ME with the long guitar rifs (sp) that go on forever..he just leisurely walked past us playing guitar, eyes shut part of the time just wailing that guitar…I took pics best I could, we were just having a blast. Whoever thought up that new way to start Rock Me sure is a genius!! MB truly ROCKED NJPAC with Rock Me that went on forever!!!!!!!!
He slid his guitar pic to the little boy near me that sang earlier from Boys/Girls Club and it slid and fell down a crack in front of him. The little guy didn’t know what MB was doing and he didn’t get it.. SHOOT! We tried to find it quickly after but it was out of reach. :( MB tried tho.

Then after Rock Me, he decided to kill us all by sitting 3 feet away on the stool by the piano, right in front of us, to sing Georgia. That’s not my fav song but last night he blew me away with it again, with the quality of his voice right now and him just leisurely sitting there singing that close to us was a perfect way to end the show for us casually draped over the stool and leaning on the piano at times LORDY!!!!..

After the show we got to see a second friend we’ve not seen in years and that was a good time even briefly after the concert…

I did get to say thanks to Tim for letting us go to the stage after it ended and he was down front getting people to go backstage like Joan Lunden and her family. She was sitting 4th or 5th row Center someone said.. I didn’t get a close look at her..

The last thing that made my night was seeing Milo quickly after the show. He’s a sweet guy who always takes a minute to say hi and ask how everyone is doing.
We told him too how wonderful the show was and extra good MB’s voice is right now. He said the venue sound was great too. Hopefully he will pass on the positive feedback to Michael and the band. They work so hard to put on the concerts we like to let them know we just had the best time when we can.

MB left in a black SUV not long after we saw Milo and we headed on out..

That was our adventure to NJPAC!!! Michael gave us an extra AMAZING CONCERT I wish we could repeat sometime soon…
Sorry this is so long. .Will put some pics up in the gallery tomorrow. I got some cute ones of MB!!!

Robin still smiling in MD!!!!:)
Robin,
I couldn't have said this better myself! Your review is excellent and sooooo true. Oh my! I have been a fan for many, many years and this was the best concert I've seen. Michael is in top form, the band was wonderful and the quality of the music and his voice was phenomenol. I don't know how else to say it.....If you can get to a concert, please do! You won't be disappointed in any way. Michael is more relaxed on stage than I've ever seen him. He made us feel special and seemed pleased to see old faces down there in the front row.

This was a very special concert from beginning to end. The young boys and girls seemed to love it too and Michael recognized their talent from the stage. Robin has given the details very accurately. Thanks, Robin!
