This thread is simple and to the point.  Who do you dream of hearing Michael duet with?  My list includes the following artists:

o Céline Dion
o Shania Twain
o Taylor Dayne
o Dixie Chicks
o Lady GaGa
o Reba McEntire
o Tim McGraw
o Gloria Estefan

If he has recorded a duet with any of the above mentioned artists, I would LOVE to hear it.  :)

Sylvia! You're an opera fan? OMG, we're gonna be friends forever my friend! lol Well, you're not the only one who wants Michael to do another opera CD. Did you know Jennifer is an opera fan too? I should find you the link to a thread we both started talking about it. God bless you sweetie! Take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi Sylvie,

Just goes to prove, no matter what your son says, you are always right - an opera fan too - gotta be right!  Michael has such a beautiful voice and there aren`t enough voices around like it - or, certainly not enough that we get the opportunity to hear.  An aside: my brother, who is narrow minded on the music scene, opera and nothing else, came to visit one day - a little earlier than usual and I had on, suprisingly enough, "My Secret Passion" -  his reaction was "oh, whose that - don`t recognize that voice"; without answering question I asked him if he liked it - as he looked at me quizzically he said "yes, he`s got a great voice, but who is it ?"  He didn`t believe me until I showed him cover of CD - have a guess what one of his presents is this Christmas!   :D  It is going to be his first ever CD, by a pop star, in his collection and he will be 81 in January.

Just on question of music - I know this section is asking for who Michael should  duet with but, I was thinking, something Michael hasn`t done, is a recording of songs from stage shows :  could just hear him singing "Somewhere" from Carousel (remember P.J. Proby - oh, I loved him singing that - have still got the 45 around somewhere) and needless to say there are plenty more, especially, Les Miss., Cats, West Side Story, go on and on and on - plenty that would suit his voice. Just a little thought!

Sylvia.   Wee Scottish friend.

Hi Sylvia, well, Michael has sung with Placido on CD and José Carreras in concert. With the emotion in their voices, I agree that a duet with Bryn Terfel would be heavenly! Now, this is the thread I was telling you about that Helena started and Jen and I were discussing opera:

http://michaelbolton.ning.com/forum/topics/this-is-for-all-you-pava...

Now, do tell me about narrow-minded people!I’ll tell ya, 81 or 15, they come at all ages!  I’m really glad to hear your brother saw the light! Oh well now, there’s the perfect Christmas present! Sylvia my dear, I suggest you visit this thread:

http://michaelbolton.ning.com/forum/topics/songs-i-would-love-micha...

Read it carefully and you might find a few surprises and that’s all I’ll say… BTW, (by the way), Michael has said in a blog, back in September, that he had been invited to sing in both “Phantom of the opera” and “Chicago”. From what fans have reported during the 2010 tour, it certainly sounded like Michael was training for it, but don’t know if that’ll happen, but I do know he’s got a few people drooling here… :D Well, hope to read your posts on either thread  sweetie, take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi Özlem, Michael has sung so far in English, French, Italian,  Spanish and a bit in latin, if I’m not mistaken. I have a feeling he would need to take the time to learn a song phonetically, but he needs the right teacher, are you available? :D He keeps saying he’s still working on his English. To be completely honest, on “Pourquoi me réveiller” in ‘98, his French had a bit of room for improvement, but by 2002, when he sang “Une femme comme toi”, he sounded like he had learned French as a second language! Whoever taught him did a fabulous job!  Maybe you could show us and Michael your favorite Ferhat Gocer song that you think would sound good by him? Well thanks for sharing Öz, take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Hi Sylvie, I think I still cant get over the fact that I missed the concert MB did with Ferhat Gocer in Turkey in July 2009, the only video I have been able to find on the web is the Tribute to Sinatra, New York New York, I don't know which other songs they sang together.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_C3QPeiNos - FerhatGocer & Michael Bolton - NEWYORK

I wouldn't mind any song they would sing together in a duet, English, turkish or Italian! anything would make my day! Ferhat Gocer recorded Caruso on his first self titled album, he is a singer that can sing all kinds of music, specially the old classics brilliantly, to me he is a 'Turkish Bolton' with the type of love songs he sing and the way his fans love him. I love all of his music and couldn't choose which I would want MB to sing, as I wouldn't know which would suit his voice! From my web searches I read somewhere that MB had requested to perform with Ferhat Gocer, whether this is true or not, I would love to see them perform again! I know others reading this post will think I have lost the plot wanting MB to sing in Turkish, well MB is an international star, you just never know what he will sing next, he is full of surprises!

Getting back to some of the Italian singers, Michael should perform with....if he wants to go back to his roots of good old fashion Rock and Roll, he should do a duet with Umberto Tozzi.  I know I mentioned him before, so here is "Gloria"....

Boy, is Umberto a good looking guy or what?  Well this video is from years ago, but I visited his web site today and he still looks good!

With all these italian singers that I can match Michael up with, he will never leave Italy...LOL!  :)

Helena..xx...

Hi Everyone,

Thought I would move a little comment I have put in in one of the other threads over to here as it seems much more relevent to this thread and as I was given the link to here by Sylvie the Solver thought I would use it and below is my comment in the hope that, one day, Michael just might consider doing another duets album :-

"I know I said I would stop with Eva - but hey Sylvie. Columbo rides again - one, very, very last one and one I absolutely adore for I adore Katie Melua too and it is she who is singing with Eva and, if my memory serves me right, Katie went to #1 with this a few years ago and how about too - Katie and Michael - just a suggestion Michael if you happen to read this.....another duets album on the way - no problem - we will soon find them for him, won't we girls !! :)    Should put out a little alert - advert appears at beginning of this video hope it doesn't affect your access Sylvie !! :)

Sylvia.   Your wee Scottish friend.

Hey Sylvia, I love when people listen to me, it’s very gratifying! Lol Okay so first, have you read this entire thread? Now second, do you have a specific song you would think a good duet for them and third, would this be your dream duet or would you have a more pressing one, now that Michael is doing a duet with Eva? Just checking.  I was just reading the posts higher up on the page and thinking we can add another language Michael sings now with “Sajna”. Maybe he’ll work on his German now that he’s so fond of Helene Fischer, who knows. Thanks for sharing and reviving this thread sweetie. Take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada

Well...a little feisty Solver there eh????!!!!!!!! lol I followed you ladies over here...I am too chicken to view the new OTR clip. My heart can only take sooooo much :)

I still think the duet that Michael had with Kathy Rosario.....HAISTLWY...... on the Howie Mandel Show was his finest 30 seconds!!!!!!! LOL LOL ROFL!!!!!!!!

Ok...I know....I am leaving :)

Kathy and LAFD Bob

I have still never heard that clip but what about this for a unique album for Michael to do - duets with fans ....stand up and come forward all those that can sing !!! lol.

Been trying to transfer a link over from youtube and it will not come - this computer has definitely got a life of its own - the song I was trying to bring over which I would love to hear Michael do is Dusty Springfield's "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me"  - what a duet that would be - wow !!!!! :)

Sylvia.   Your wee Scottish friend.

Hey Sylvia, that’s Jennifer’s dream, I’m sure she’d support it! J As far as your link goes, here it is, Dusty’s version:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QR4vE9xL3yk

Now this one’s for Astrid, Elvis’ version:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vx183adJm4&feature=related

Okay, so is this your suggestion for a duet for Michael and Katie Melua? I really love this song Sylvia, but I don’t know girl. Now, if you want to discuss covers, here’s where to do it:

http://michaelbolton.ning.com/forum/topics/songs-i-would-love-micha...

I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be ringmaster, but sometimes threads tend to stray from the original subject. I’m not being feisty either Miz Rosario, don’t scold me… J Have you ever heard a duet of this song Sylvia? Just checking. Do share your dream list though. Take care. Hugs, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada
