City of Hope's National Professional Salon Industry honored Harlan Kirschner, CEO of the Kirschner Group, for his outstanding professional and philanthropic contributions. Surrounded by his family, beauty industry pals and many friends in a spectacular evening that gathered more than 800 people, Harlan was really touched while delivering a moving acceptance speech. The amazing Spirit of Life Award Gala ended with a brilliant live show by legendary superstar Michael Bolton.
In an exclusive interview with Estetica, Harlan said: "Receiving the Spirit of Life award is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream, as I have served on this committee for over a decade and attended almost 30 of these events over the years". "Cancer will affect one out of every three men and two out of every three women in their lifetime. Some forms of cancers now have cures and this dinner gala is 'celebrating cures' and focusing on all the great achievements that have been made. It is my hope that the support our industry gives City of Hope will make a difference and help save the lives."
Harlan’s career began in 1979 working for a master distributor responsible for sales and warehousing operations, where he soon moved into management. While learning the beauty business, management and operations, it soon sparked Harlan’s desire to create and build his own company in the beauty industry. With the skills and knowledge he had attained he set out on the journey to what now is The Kirschner Group, Inc.
The Spirit of Life Award is always presented to an individuals who exemplifies the ideals and values that have guided City of Hope for a century, and whose professional and humanitarian accomplishments are worthy of celebration.
