Bolton Bombers jacket.
This is my christmas present to myself. I've never seen one of these for sale before so I couldnt let it 'slip' by could I now? Ha Ha!!
It has the name 'John' embroidered on the front. Does anyone have a list of the BB team players at all? I'd love to try and find out who it belonged to.

I was looking through my books and found something. It could be Johnny Dodd. He had the number 8 on his uniform.

Oooh, thank you for this bit of information Kathleen.
I will look up Johnny Dodd to see if there's any information on him. The only information I can find is on a Johnny Dodds Jazz Legend who played alongside Louis Armstrong and Earl Hines and who died in 1940? Dont think thats the right man somehow? Ha Ha!!

Yes Johnny did and he was a great guy, I have a pic or two with him.. He used to lay flooring for a living or something like that back when he played with MB. I don't think he had any entertainment background...He could play softball tho, I miss all those guys...He was a very nice and good looking fella!!

I dont suppose you would happen to have a photo of Johnny in his BB jacket would you? If not, I would seriously love to see any photo of him if you wouldnt mind sharing?
Wouldnt it be sad if it was Johnny himself selling his own jacket? I dont think it is though. (Good for me, but sad for Johhny)

Jennifer I don't have one here with him in the Jacket, the ones I can put my hands on (since most of my ball game pics are packed away) are from the last game I went to in 2000 after the ALW tour in NC. It's one of me with him and I can crop me out and it's just a head shot, he's got a hat and sunglasses and the other is at a distance on the ball field which is too far away to see much. That's all I have right now that I can post. I have to scan the head shot in so give me a little time. He was a very nice guy...Johnny may not care about the jacket, those guys were playing for money and helping MB out but that wasn't their means of employment or anything at the time.. So maybe he donated it to charity at some point, I can see him possibly doing that. He is a nice fella.. I'ts been 11 years since I've seen him, time goes by.

That would be nice Jennifer if you are sure it is his jacket. I don't want photos of myself online like I've said in the past so that's as much of my face as you are going to get!!LOL Hope you understand. It was not the best one of me, taken fast and too close but it was a fun day that day. Brings back good memories having to find it for you!!LOL
