I know im jumping ahead her but Ive been thinking about the next book and was wondering what you all think .Its a true story called The girl in the box(also called perfect victim, Colleen Stan) by Christine Mcguire,Its about a girl who is kidnapped and kept in a box and kept as a slave .Very interesting read ,If we go for this it gives plenty of time to locate a copy.xx
I have been looking online for that Dianna .The book is really good ,I have read it a couple of times now and it still gets me how manipulative someone can be and how easy it is to brain wash someone.Sorry if im taking over ,I just keep thinking of books that i have loved and want to share .x
No No your NOT taking over at all I think we have the same taste in books!
I use to own all of Virginia Andrews books I lent them to someone I know and she put them in storage when she moved and lost alot of them as well as many others I had lent her :(
Was not happy and still not happy about it.
As for true crime stories I have a few of those in my bookcase as well.
I have tried so hard to understand the mentality of these people that can hurt and distroy the lives of so many people and to be honest I know now we can never understand because there is no reason on this earth for the distruction they cause in so many lives.
As you will probably remember a close friend of mine a doctor was shot down May the 25th 2000 that right nearly 10 years ago and they have now in the last year finally have the man in custody for organizing the murder of him.
I cannot say too much on here as it is still going though the court system the last man stands trial on the 26th July this year.
It has been a stuggle for so long and it will be nice to see justice finally being dealt.
Although the true crime books make be very sad I have read quite a few of them but I have never read Girl in a box.
So keep them coming they sound good to me
Love Dianna xx
I have a fascination with these books (Derm thinks im obsessed with serial killers ,lol).I love Ann rules books especially Small sacrifices(Diane downs ,she tried to murder her kids so her lover would leave his wife) ,If you really loved me(about a father who convinces his 14 year old daughter to kill his wife ) and the stranger beside me (Ann Rule is a former police woman who worked with Ted Bundy and never knew he had murdered so many women).Great books ,I also love the true story movies but prefer the books for more indepth details .I am honestly not a serial killer or psycho i just find it fascinating to read about these types of people ,Honestly :-)
I know exactly what your trying to say.
Ted Bundy wasn't he a demented person so cruel and horrid.
How about John Walsh "Tears of Rage" about the murder of his 6 year old son!
Robert J Dvorchak "Someone is stalking me" About the murder of Diane King a news reader
Mike Echols "I know My first name is Steven" Held captive by a convicted child molester for 7 years!
James Neff "The capture of a serial Rapist" he was sentence to 3,198 years in prison for his crimes.
Just a few I have.
Ted Bundy was a smooth charming guy ,no one would have ever known ,He was a total sociopath.I have never read those books you mentioned ,I must look them up in Library ,I have seen the movie of i know my name is Steven though and enjoyed that .If you havent you should try those Ann rule ones ,you would really enjoy them.x
