Brainstorming for our Michael's birthday
Hi everyone, well this is my first attempt at starting a discussion so hope I’m doing this right... :D . A couple of weeks ago, I asked Gail when she thought would be a proper time to start thinking of what we fans want to do for our Michael’s 60th birthday. She said she was out of ideas, but suggested I’d start a thread asking fans for suggestions. I figure we have exactly 4 months, starting today, to come up with something fun and get mobilised to achieve it. I’m no organizer, I just thought we could share ideas so let’s put our heads together and see what we can come up with! :D Take care and hugs to all, sincerely, Sylvie from Canada J
*The 2 most popular suggestions so far are:
- individual donations to michaelboltoncharities.com, mentionning they are made in honor of Michael’s birthday, of any amount you feel comfortable with.
-a collective wall-hanging made from personalized fabric squares sent by fans that will be stitched together. The 4 inch/10 cm squares (with small blank margin) only need have your signature and location but can be crafty as you are able. For
more info, ask here, or PM either me, or Amie Angeli who will be doing the stitching and presenting the finished product to our Michael.
**Note: The final deadline for recieving fabric squares is February 15th, so you don't have much time left. :D
**It would also mean a lot to Michael if fans donate to the Red Cross for victims of hurricane Sandy at:

so, have we come to a semi-unanimous decisio for Michael's Birthday?? lol the "quilt" seems very personal from his fans and a good idea and I love the donations dea to MBC..I didn;t get the address or how to donate to it. Can someone pls. clue me in! Thanks a bunch everyone

Hi Lillian! If you want to contribute a fabric square to the wallhanging from his fans, there's still time to make & send one in. For the mailing address for the squares, several people have already mailed them in, have the address, & if they're among your "friends" here, they can give you the mailing address. Or friend me, Sylvie, etc, and we'll pass on the address on your message page. For the MB Charities or Sandy donations (Red Cross), those addresses are in the original forum post above. Regards, Amie

Hi Amie, I had originally posted February 1st as the deadline to send squares in. Would you like to set a final deadline for those who are finishing up their squares and don't want to be left out? Hi Sylvie! Posting here so everybody can see it. New Moon is the 10th, so I won't start putting it together until then (auspicious days, timing, naturally!). So if I have them by about the 15th, I can still work them all in. It's not like I have a 9-to-5 consuming my days! A bientot! Amie

I wanted to remind you all that it is now February and if you were planning on making a donation to one of the charities mentioned in the beginning of this thread or even sending a card don't forget. If you want to send it to me, PM me and I'll give you my address. If you want to send it through his charity that info and address is on the mail post of this thread. If you send your card to me, I will need them by February 20th.
Also remember if you want to be part of the quilt that Amie is doing that needs to be to her by February 15th. Thanks, Gail
